I got the allagan healing bracelet from Coil last night.

I guess that's one more slot I can get out of making Rose Gold for.

Not really a reason to save them tbf; the quests give extra xp the first time, but it doesn't matter as long as you don't do it at 50.

I should really run it until I get my healer boots once I'm back home...

Maybe I'll do it until I cap (9 times), and then just get whatever after that.

It sounds like there's a free log-in weekend for people with lapsed accounts this weekend, starting at midnight on Saturday. The idea is to get people to come play 2.1 content.

Might be relevant to Nuwen/Fate/Grimm/Reck.

Be sure to pug Coil every week. It's super easy to do 1-4 now if you use Party Finder. Do this weekly.

Save your myth for a bit, then buy myth for whatever you don't get for Coil IFF it's best in slot.

Also, do Crystal Tower weekly to fill-in missed things.

As you do the above, keep an eye on hitting the Accuracy cap. Darklight gear tends to have accuracy, and CT gear tends to lack it, so you end up with low accuracy if your gear is very CT-heavy.

Yeah, BRD BiS is very myth-heavy due to how their accuracy gear works from what I understand. I think all you want is the boots and the visor or something, and the rest all Hero's.

Probably making your own T4 pug would be best. Set the item level floor to your own item level.

T4 isn't very difficult, really. If you go with 2 tanks that know the fight well, it should be pretty easy.

Also, T4 is at most 6 minutes long (soft enrage mechanic), so it's very quick to learn the fight (unlike, say, Twintania, because Twintania is 12 minutes long).

I think some extra allagan might become BiS if you use the Elfin Bow. And the allagan bow may change this, if it doesn't have accuracy on it; not sure.

You should be able to do T4 in mostly DL...if you're having problems, it's probably that the DPS need to learn their rotations.

And yeah, I was briefly in a group where I was expected to not pug coil and wait until Thursday, whereupon I may have to sit out. Leaving for a real static was the best decision ever.

I'm sure there are plenty of statics that can use you. Party Finder "fill-ins" often become static invitations if you show up and aren't too awful, for example. I sometimes get random /tells about joining statics.

I think people ask for high item level for T1 mainly because they hope they can get a group that can sweep T1-4 without fuss.

Saki, the joy of a static is that the 1.5 hours spent wiping won't have to be recapitulated on every single T4 pug hereafter.

The MT, hopefully a PLD, should use Hallowed Ground when the second DN appears, then have Sentinel for immediately after, then rotate CDs. By the time he's out of cooldowns, the old dreadnought should be dead. After that, all the panic-times are over.

Your healers and any caster DPS (in case it's on CD for healers) can try to get Virus on the two dreadnoughts starting as Sentinel is about to go off if they want to make it easier; just make sure they communicate so that they know which to target. From the Scholar, Rouse -> Fey Illumination -> Whispering Dawn will make phase 6 a lot easier. Be sure he has Eos on manual. Eye for an Eye/Sacred Soil help, too. The OT can make it easier on the healers by circle-tanking everything else to minimize damage to let the healers stay focused.

One additional note on this --

Be sure the Scholar doesn't put up Rouse/FI/WD until several seconds after MT has hate on the 2nd dreadnought, or Eos will totally pull all of the hate.

You can also save this cooldown set for the enrage portion of the fight if you want to avoid these hate issues.

why are you running eos in the dps race ;_;
Well, to be honest, the main reason is that Selene's macros are broken on PS3, and being able to macro embrace to everything is more powerful than Selene's buffs.

But I don't think I've ever personally been in a party where the DPS couldn't do their job, and this is speaking as someone whose static has 2 melee and no BLM. I think the tanks are the ones who usually mess up here -- whether OT failing to get all the adds in phase 6 quickly, leading to chaos, or MT either failing to get the 2nd dreadnought or dying after HG wears off, leading to chaos.

In that case, the problem is probably that the OT needs to learn the circle-tank. By walking in a circle around all the mobs, he can greatly reduce the damage he receives. Maybe he can find a good video; I always focus MT in this fight, so I don't know as much about what the OT does beyond what he does conceptually.

Your set-up is pretty ideal for this, though, as far as tanks go.

I've been having some trouble healing Ifrit EX. It seems like every other healer has a different system for where to stand during the fight to avoid blowing everyone up, but every other healer uses the exact same language to describe it.

Make your own PF group and don't allow more than 1 melee DPS.

You just need to hope the tanks know how to deal with the spiny.

Garuda HM is pretty much all on the tank to position Garuda's slipstream safely and the DPS to not stand in front of the sisters' slipstreams. If that happens, solo healing it is easy.

If not, well...

You have the easiest possible time as BRD, though, so that's something. You just need to find enough other people who can dodge stuff enough to get your some practice. :]

Ifrit EX is seriously braindead time for any ranged DPS, so you've got it made if you can get through Titan. And the bow is great!

I'm just playing devil's advocate.

Like, I switch to DPSing at some stages during Twintania when I know healing will just lead to overhealing (specifically, right before the first collar falls, and on Asclepius if the tank doesn't get more than 1 debuff stack). I'm sure the WHM in our static has better HPS as a result. But I don't think this means I'm a bad healer.

Though it doesn't apply in this case because he didn't even DPS (and you did, it looks like), so I guess he just stood around. : /

Gilgamesh is relatively friendly I think. I like all the RP. The really grouchy people get osracized.

Trying to pug Titan EX this week was total hell. I finally got it today; the secret was joining someone friendly and competent who simultaneously is OK with removing people who can't do it. Rare blend of traits.

I normally do it with my coil group, but we had people who couldn't show up this week.

You'll get it; it just takes perseverance and elitism! Though it'll be tough to take advantage of the elitism if you aren't near ilvl85.

By elitism, I mean that you should avoid spending 2 hours watching the same person die over and over because you feel awkward reforming the group without them.

Like I did today.

Ah, yeah, I know how that goes. Healing Ifrit EX is a nightmare because if DPS kill a bunch of nails at the same time, they always blame the healer when everyone dies. <_<

Garuda EX is tough cuz it's not always obvious who killed the Spiny early, for example. Though you can usually blame a tank when the spiny kill everyone.

Well, it's just an NPC for now, but speculation is that they'll probably be playable in the next expansion. The rumour is that they're emissaries from a neighboring region or something.

I'm still on Gilgamesh, though I think I'm the only one. AP is in the same situation where his subscription is going but he hasn't been on.

I like the 2.2 patch a lot. Lots of grindy stuff for people who want to work for more stuff, plus new Coil. I got the healing earrings this week. ^^

Patch 2.2 added content post-Coil instead of filling in the content pre-Coil, so that's the main difference. I think this is the main business plan -- every even patch extends endgame, and the odd patches add "fill-in" content that helps people who couldn't clear the other content to get some free gear and maybe catch up (along with some Extreme primals to tide hardcore players over).

Coil now goes to Turn 9, and Turns 6-9 are the new endgame. Coil 1-5 is accessible via Duty Finder and must be cleared before Coil 6-9. SE is gradually increasing an Echo buff to Coil upon entry to help bad players clear it and move on to the new content. I think patch 2.25 is in a few days, so they'll probably buff the Echo at that time. The Echo really doesn't help much on Twintania, to be honest, because the fight is so mechanics-heavy, but it does help with DPS checks for the astounding number of DPS who can't be bothered to google their damage rotation. The new Coil content is very mechanics-heavy and designed well IMO; it's not like Titan where people are going to fail because their mother is downloading horse porn somewhere. So far, it's involved lots of situational awareness of your team's positioning, which hasn't come up much in the past other than on stuff like Twintania and Titan, where you can stack to ignore it.

They also added a new tier of Extreme primals: Leviathan and Good King Moggle Mog XII Extreme. Both are heavier on mechanics and less heavy on Titan-esque split-second dodging and are fun. You must clear Garuda/Titan/Ifrit EX first.

One thing you will struggle with if you come back is that people who are on the 2.2 content have little incentive to play the 2.0/2.1 endgame content currently. As a result, the quality of players trying to do Titan EX and Twintania can leave something to be desired. It will be interesting to see if the later relic weapon upgrade steps will address this.

They also added a quest to enhance your relic weapon that involves hours and hours of easy, boring farming. This is designed as an easier way to get a stronger weapon than beating Twintania, beating Leviathan EX, or beating Coil Turn 7, which also give access to upgraded weapons. I kind of like it because it gave people an incentive to log in and the world felt more full (2.1's content was 100% queue-in-city content), but lots of players whine about drop rates. I suspect they'll be eased up in the patch in a few days. I think SE wanted to give players an incentive to play original game content because the PS4 release just happened.

BRD/WAR/WHM will all be wanted in any endgame group. You'll want one of each. Balance is unchanged since the last patch.

Crafters can now make ilvl90 gear. There's a significant barrier to entry, though. The vanity system ("glamours") has also been implemented, so there are some high-cost glamour items that crafters make now.

There's no mythology cap anymore, so getting all 90 is very easy. You can also do Coil 1-5 with no lockout. Basically all-90 is really easy to obtain.

You'll want ilvl90 for the extreme primals and Coil, probably, but you can find lower groups. The main motive for wanting 90 is that the typical pug is not very skilled.

I've enjoyed being back a lot. Two months with 1.5 years' worth of content is nice.

I wish I'd been around for the old Ravana EX and such, though. Some stuff is just made trivial by current gear standards.

They actually made it a little shorter. You originally had to do more guildhests and do Sunken Temple and Cutter's Cry.

The 3.0 story is great, though, so hang in there.

You can get the best 2.X gear in the game from an NPC in Mor Dhona. A few of those pieces should shore you up. You can also buy solid 2.X gear pretty cheaply at the auction house.

Or if you mean the 8-man trial, the problem is maybe because people aren't doing mechanics correctly.
