My personal experience is that you are about as hateful as the alt righters, you will scream and shame and blame all day long but at least most of you won't kill anyone. ISIS is worse and is our common enemy and you need to accept they are the enemy. Because I don't see enough denouncing of ISIS and terrorists here.

You literally just complained about empty rhetoric but a few posts ago. Nobody expressly denounces ISIS and terrorism because nobody needs to. Everyone save the terrorists and their actual legitimate supporters are already on the same page ISIS and terrorism are bad things. It doesn't need to be said. ISIS doesn't care about our lack of support. The government isn't going to go "Oh well nobody is condemning terrorism I guess it isn't a problem."

Whereas we openly defend innocent muslims from being grouped together with radical terrorism because it DOES need to be said. Not everyone agrees to that point. The government might very actually actually go "Oh well nobody is defending muslims guess we can safely discriminate." Muslims who are no doubt scared they could be attacked for no reason other than they share a common heritage with some assholes DO need to know they are supported and there are people willing to defend them.

Because Trump and Brexit are things you can change people's minds about. You can debate them. Do you think we can convince ISIS to stop being terrorists? Do you think there are people on this board who currently support ISIS who we can convince not to?

Whether you are alt right, progressive, conservative or liberal, you are part of a society that has certain values like freedom of religion, rule of law, freedom of speech, human rights, free enterprise. Like it or not we are living in the same space and are on the same side. You can be a bully if you want, it seems you can't understand that me or a ton of muslims that I know are more afraid of you than of alt right people who want to kick us out of our country. The message just can't get accross to you.

Can you cite any statistics on this or are you just going to continue to base your entire argument on "Well, I'M more afraid of you* and so are a bunch of nameless people I know".

*I like how you were arguing you wanted people to unite but now have decided you are going to group all leftists with violent protestors, including me even though you don't know anything about me except probably my politics (and my gimmicks, I guess).

I'm afraid you will come after me because I offer a different viewpoint. You will mock, attack, humiliate, degrade, isolate, some of your friends or allies will physically attack, or otherwise try to make my life difficult. I have every reason to be just as afraid of you as some alt rigther that wants to kick out the ethnics. Whether its for a different skin color or different perspective, bullies are the same.

Even if bullying people is bad, bullying people for their immutable traits and their bad (sometimes hateful) opinions are are very different levels of bad.

You surely want to bully, as you define it, ISIS. You may not agree but you certainly empathize with people who want to bully Nazis, even if you disagree with who the Nazis are.

We should only ever have an election when a leader dies! That's how democracy works: You ask about an issue a single time and that sets the policy for everyone ever at all points in the future.

It's almost like people can change their minds when they reflect on the issue and can manifest that change of mind by voting for or against candidates in an election that argue for the position they now favor or now oppose.

It's not even been a year since the referendum, and the conservatives, in charge of that brexit, lost 13 seats, a whole 2 percent of the house of commons.

It'd indeed be pretty ridiculous to have a second referendum (nullifying the first). This is not the landslide that lets you ignore a recent referendum, and you'd be insulting your people with asking again as they know their vote doesn't matter in that case anyway, you could just whipe it off the table another year from now. Similar with "advisory". Sure you could ignore it. That's also the end of any faith a follower can have in you, because you've shown you don't care to listen to the people that you are supposed to represent.

If the people don't want another referendum, they could be free to vote for candidates that won't give them one.
