As mafia whose kill failed the level of confusion at the beginning of the day doesn't make sense. Wouldn't it make more sense to compose yourself to deal with the incoming guilty? My best example to describe this is my behavior d2 in Open 661. I had figured out the deal with the cop claims and who was likely getting copped since there was a fairly clea endorsement from Titus and both of the cop suspects heavily FOSed LQ, so I instantly figured out the cop result with a little bit of hinting by the cop d2 and went "okay this guy isn't a push".

What i'd do is say the night's result may have been incorrect. It sufficiently WIFOMs the result enough to make it a no result. Now if it was a inno when it should have been a guilty I'd just give the new result.
