Quick site history lesson: back in 2009 (holy shit) Cybele decided to quit the site in style, and edited a shitton of their posts to say "Weep not for me, for I am dead," causing general confusion and the loss of many a thread's integrity. Except that's pretty easily identifiable cause they've either A) been banned so long that you don't see their post unless you're looking for them or B) recent enough that you know without needing a big red identifier.

I think respecting the dead shows we are an advanced culture though. We can see their wrongs, but that does not mean they were not a part of us once!
I disagree with that, they aren't dead. On my other forum there is a user who actually is dead in rl. Banned users are forum criminals. When a criminal goes to jail, they put on a uniform. Have the titles be a bland, "banned". Like a uniform since if u did a forum crime bad enough to ban, then no more title outside of "banned".
Cool custom titles are gifts. They shouldn't get them.

Except 90% of everyone on site wears a "uniform". Giving them a bland "banned" is still a cool custom title that would be exclusive to a subset of users that is smaller than "mafia scum" title group. "Weep for me not" would still be a "uniform" but at least it would artful and representative of the site

Why the hell would there be cause to waste time giving special baneed titles to individuals should aren't on the site?
If someone is banned in one part of the site, and not another, what would be the point of giving them this title? What does it accomplish? And is that goal worthwhile?
