hi I play this, there's two of us now. currently playing a lot of Rakano Plate, Xenan Killers and Stonescar Burn. was on a Combrei 'tokens' brew for a while, and tried Icaria Blue/Armory for about a week but kept losing so switched to new deck(s). I think the only top tier decks I can't play are Feln Control (Black Sky Harbinger), Feln Tempo (Midnight Gale), and 'proper' Big Combrei (need 4ths of Mystic Ascendant/Parliament/Marshall), I have most of the set1 rares at this point.

topped out at ~37 Masters this month, currently hovering around 90-120ish.

the game already has amazing free-to-play value though, I agree - way better than Hearthstone, can find an article with sources/math but lazy. hell, maybe I'll write up an OP/FAQ if I have the time in the next week or two. I've spent $10 on Jekk's Bounty, spent $25 just to draft when I was starting out, and spent $10 during the event stress test to stock up on Shiftstone for Set 2. been playing for 2 months and have logged over 200 hours. I may have a problem (<.<) but I've never felt like I've
had
to spend money to compete (i.e. MTG).

Also, these new legends tho: Praxis, Argenport, Xenan, Hooru, Skycrag

set 2's pretty gr8. blew all my shiftstone on 2 Kothon, 2 Makto, and 3 Ayan (and a 4th Parliament/playset of Waystone Infuser/2 Banish) - probably going to craft Heart of The Vaults after another Kothon or two, I have foils of Navani and Obrak I can disenchant if I really need to (and hopefully should hit Masters before the end of the month for that foil legendary). but we'll see how the meta shapes up.

been mostly messing with Xenan Control, Icaria Blue, and I'm now tweaking a Justice/Time/Shadow list after the ETS results went up:

Spoiler: Dark Combrei
2 Seek Power (Set1 #408)
4 Desert Marshal (Set1 #332)
3 Find the Way (Set1 #513)
4 Temple Scribe (Set1 #502)
3 Ayan, the Abductor (Set2 #204)
4 Knight-Chancellor Siraf (Set1 #335)
4 Slay (Set2 #236)
4 Valkyrie Enforcer (Set1 #151)
2 Banish (Set2 #207)
4 Sandstorm Titan (Set1 #99)
4 The Great Parliament (Set1 #338)
3 Xenan Obelisk (Set1 #103)
3 Inquisitor Makto (Set2 #242)
2 Marshal Ironthorn (Set1 #174)
4 Mystic Ascendant (Set1 #116)
5 Time Sigil (Set1 #63)
4 Justice Sigil (Set1 #126)
2 Shadow Sigil (Set1 #249)
3 Combrei Banner (Set1 #424)
4 Seat of Progress (Set0 #58)
3 Seat of Vengeance (Set0 #55)
4 Seat of Mystery (Set0 #61)

borrowed some ideas from both of the Dark Combrei decks in the top 8. running a 2/3 split on Seek Power/Find the Way instead of 4/2 - makes the deck slightly worse against aggro (due to the extra power cost & depleted sigil) in addition to lack of Harsh Rules, so it might be worth dropping Ayan for Combrei Healers, but so far Ayan's been doing alright for me. would improve the manabase a bit, too, but this split does allow me to fit another card into the main, and I think making the deck more threat-dense is the way to go.

could also make room for some Harsh Rules, maybe drop one Enforcer/one Slay/one Obelisk? only played ~7 games with this list so far but haven't really missed having Harsh Rules; overwhelming the opponent with threats usually does the job.

and I'm still tuning the power base, I'm always bad at building these. but something along these lines seems fine.

I like drawing two per game sometimes, as even your Scribes become 5/5 threats in the lategame, but I don't always want/need two in a lot of matchups, and that's more likely when running the full set. In some matchups I don't even need
one
. I could see going down to 2, actually, but I'm not sure what to replace it with. Maybe a single Annihilate or Vanquish (most likely the former). In decks like Shimmerpack, aggressive Combrei decks with Stand Together and such, and Praxis Tokens (I assume) I'd totally run the full 4 Obelisk.

But again, low sample size so far, so I'll keep this in mind as I tweak the list.

[edit] wording, was tired. am still tired.

I was actually thinking if Xenan Control splashing Justice for Makto & Slay would be dece. protect and/or stand together would probably be good considerations for my Dark Combrei list as well.

speaking of which, update: played 5 games vs Dark Combrei mirror, Chalice, Rakano Plate, Icaria Blue, and Skycrag Aggro. lost against AggroCrag and Chalice, but noticed Obelisk pulled its weight in the Icaria Blue/Plate matchups (wouldn't have done much in the other two games), so I went down a Valk Enforcer and up an Obelisk to test 4. went 4-1 on the next set of 5, losing to an Elysian Monsters list but winning against the same Chalice player, Skycrag Aggro, Elysian Overwhelm and Praxis Overwhelm decks. and in none of those matches did I need Obelisk whether I frew it or not - so, 8/10 games it wasn't needed.

10 is still relatively small sample-wise, but I may try going down to 2 and fitting in those Protects, or Annihilate/Vanquish. sadly between work/moving shit/PoGo event I won't have much time to play til the weekend ish.

ran into issues playing Dark Combrei on ladder (currently on 4 Obelisk btw, perhaps I was wrong), so I've fallen back to Icaria Blue (with Praxis Midrange helping me from Gold I -> Diamond II) since it's probably my most played deck.

Spoiler: list
4 Inspire (Set1 #129)
4 Seek Power (Set1 #408)
4 Torch (Set1 #8)
1 Eilyn's Favor (Set0 #24)
3 Lightning Storm (Set1 #206)
2 Trailblaze (Set2 #111)
3 Vanquish (Set1 #143)
2 Sword of Icaria (Set1 #315)
4 Valkyrie Enforcer (Set1 #151)
3 Wisdom of the Elders (Set1 #218)
3 Auric Runehammer (Set1 #166)
2 Reforge (Set2 #23)
4 Rise to the Challenge (Set1 #320)
4 Harsh Rule (Set1 #172)
1 Staff of Stories (Set1 #234)
3 Throne Warden (Set1 #514)
1 Starsteel Daisho (Set1 #328)
2 Icaria, the Liberator (Set1 #329)

4 Fire Sigil (Set1 #1)
5 Justice Sigil (Set1 #126)
2 Primal Sigil (Set1 #187)
1 Rakano Banner (Set1 #427)
4 Seat of Glory (Set0 #56)
1 Hooru Banner (Set2 #216)
4 Seat of Order (Set0 #51)
4 Seat of Fury (Set0 #53)

haven't been impressed with Rakano Artisan, as it can be a dead draw lategame and you usually run 4. I'd rather run high-impact cards, notably a set of Enforcers to deal with Dawnwalkers and the like (plus they're better Icaria Warcry targets). 2 Trailblaze/3 Wisdom/1 Staff of Stories feels like the right amount of card draw (+ 4 Inspire) - I was running 3 Trailblaze/2 Wisdom and found myself running out of gas. I could cut Trailblazes and run the full four Wisdoms, but I like having something to do turn 2, the filtering is nice, and it's slightly better on the influence cost issue that this deck tends to run into, since in a lot of matchups you also want double Justice by turn 3. I always want one Staff of Stories because sometimes you just protect it with Wardens, recur it with Reforge, and win games. Or double-Icaria-Warcry-trigger into one...

Speaking of Reforge, I was down on the card initially and went down to 1 or 0, but I've come around on it. Grab Staff with Rise in grindy games, or a Daisho (which becomes a 6/4 into an 8/6 weapon). It's not quite Smuggler's Stash, but it does alright. Two Swords of Icaria because I'm not that high on it but they still pull their weight - could become Talons of Nostrix if aggro becomes common. Three Auric Runehammers because without running Artisans, you're typically gonna need to Rise for it to kill anything notable (one trigger bricks on SSTitan anyway), and you only want so many 4 mana 1-for-1s in some matchups. 4 Torch/3 Vanquish/3 Lightning Storm/4 Harsh Rule seem self-explanatory. Tried only 2 Wardens for a while, not a fan - the armor boost is great in some matchups, especially combined with Reforges. And I tried running 3 Icaria, which isn't a bad call per se, but with Daisho/Staff/Reforge wincons and the full set of Rise, I don't think it's necessary on ladder and would rather hedge towards aggro matchups. Would probably run 3 main if I entered in the ETS (lol getting a Saturday off though ;_;)

mana/influence base - Was running 3 Seek/2 Eilyn's Favor, but I don't like running more than 2 Primal Sigils so I switched back. could adjust that and the manabase if I need the Aegis. I
think
I'm comfortable with the manabase like this, but I'm still tweaking (recent change is one Hooru Banner over 2nd Rakano Banner).

critique welcome!

also sitting on ~7.2k stone. debating if I want to craft my other two Kothons, Vadius so I can play AggroCrag, or some more Knucklebones (got a premium one!! and a boring regular one).

got back into this because I've had an itch to play a card game lately

played a Gauntlet run to get reacquainted and then a Forge, where I p1p1'd a foil Sandstorm Titan.
still a lucksack

currently messing around with this FJP Plate list for now.
