IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP AS AN ALT ACCOUNT:

Established players starting Alt accounts (an account different from their primary account, usually used as a means to play against their established meta)

may not

/in as a Newbie since they'd be taking a spot away from a true site Newbie. Additionally, since the Alt account itself doesn't qualify, you may not function as SEs or ICs under the Alt account either, even if the player behind the account does qualify for one of these positions.

The ONLY way in which a new Alt account (one with less than two finished games) may play in a Newbie game is to offer to replace into existing games. Once the account has a record of three finished games, you may then /in as an SE player as normal. Once the account has a record of 5 completed games and 3 months on-site, you may /in as an IC player after ListMod certification as normal. You may always instead use your primary account to function as an SE or IC, depending on qualifications.

You can play two games from scratch as a newbie. To play newbies games after that, you need to have played a game outside of Rome, after which you'll be an SE. You can /in for a game in another queue if you like, try a normal or an open or see if there are any themes that interest you or players you've played with before that you want to play with again.

I've played one game from scratch a couple years ago and have recently replaced into a second, which I understood to still make me eligible since I haven't played two from scratch. But I'll have a look around anyway!

Looks like the listmod put you in the queue for a newbie slot, so I think I missed that you'd replaced into the second rather than starting there. Sorry! You'll be in the next game or so! Definitely worth looking around anyway, too, though!

It sounds like you are a reasonable person because that is a very reasonable reaction you are having.

Most games are not like this one was. Some games kinda suck but a lot of games can be pretty fun. I've modded about 20 games here and some were great and some were meh and sometimes deep friendships are formed and sometimes people's feelings get hurt or people get angry at each other and that can get unfun because mafia is a psychological game and it can get pretty intense at times. Part of the point newbie queue is figuring out whether you find this fun or not. Reading this game isn't a good way to do that because any reasonable person would be turned off by it. Read some other games instead to get a feel for how things usually go. This game wasn't "same old stuff just dialed up to 11." It was something else entirely.

I hope you have a lot of fun in your game and that you stick around.

Yes. You can replace into another newbie game or you can /in to play in another queue. The open queue and normal queue are both good places to start branching out.
