00. I reserve the right to edit these rules at any time should something truly unexpected occur.
01. All votes must be made bold. Unvoting is not required but I heavily perfer it. Any attempts at disguising your voting will be prohibited. If its treated as a vote and I think its a vote, its a a vote!
02. A majority of votes is required to lynch. If there is a lynch, no amount of bitching will prevent the lynch from happening. I am a moderator, not a charity.
03. When you live, live well. Live long. Prosper. When you're dead, shut up. Don't post or even pm me. Lie in a grave/furnace/corpse pile. Rot.
04. All days have a 7 day deadline. All nights have a 3 day deadline.

The thread will not lock during night given the nature of this game

. No votes will be counted at night but you are welcome to wifom and make alliances as you please.
05. You can vote No Lynch during the day. Simply

. Should this vote reach a majority. It will happen. If no majority is reached during a day then there will be a no lynch when that day ends
06. This isn't technically mafia. There is no informed minority or uninformed majority. Every player really is an SK that can send a kill and a protect at night.

10. If it seems like it should be illegal, it probably is. Considering the fact rules sometimes can't cover everything. Please use your common sense. PM me if you think something you are about to do could break the rules or possibly ruin the game.
11. I am human. If I fuck up and make a mod error that personally looses you the game, then I will give you a technical auto win at the end of the game to make up for it

You and everyone else in the game is a serial killer. Each night you must send a kill and a protect. You can not protect yourself. You can vote, lynch, and talk during the day. All deaths will be revealed as "XXX has died, he was a serial killer." You can also talk at night in the same game thread! Carefully pick your victims and make the right alliances to survive as long as you can. Survive to the end of the game and you may win...

Returning game mechanics being used

:
-Every player must send a kill and a protect at each night. You can not protect yourself.

Protects block 1 kill

-Players can be voted out during the day, but they don't have to be. No lynching is possible

Returning end game mechanic for if only two players are alive:

-Final two players alive send me a vote. If all players alive vote draw, they share the win. If one player alive votes win and the others vote draw, then the player who votes win will win. If all players alive vote win, then all dead players win.

New in game mechanic:

-Random Crits:

When a kill is sent, I roll a 4 sided dice for you. If a 1 is rolled then your kill now counts as two kills

for a critical hit. If you do not get a random crit, but your target still dies, your next dice roll will have 1 less side (ex: 4 sided is now 3 sided). If you roll a critical hit, your dice will be reset regardless of whether the target dies. If your target survives, your dice will also be reset to 4. You will not be told if you got a critical hit.

FAQ:

Q: But PokerFace what if 3 people all target the same guy, and he dies?
A: Then all 3 killers have their dice reduced (assuming none of them rolled a random crit. If one of them got a crit, then that one will have their dice reset while the others get their dice reduced)

Q: So more than 2 people alive, means game continues. Only 2 alive results in the end game scenario from when ika ran this game. Only 1 alive, that player wins. What happens if all players die?
A: Player with the most kills wins. Most random crits is tie breaker.

Q: What happens if a player does not send you a kill at night?
A: Then their kill never happens. It targets no one.

Q: What happens if a player does not send a protect at night?
A: Someone that is not that same player will get protected at random.

Q: What if I got to be away during that time?
A: Then you should send your choices to me in advance before you go away.

Q: How many people are allowed to sign up?
A: No max value of players. Signups gonna start on Aug 7th after I get off work that day. They will last for 3 days, after that no more players can join. See the timer at the bottom of this post.

Q. Do you plan to end night early in the event you get all action early?
A. No I do not. All nights will end at their scheduled times.

Q. Can I change my action after I have sent it to you?
A. Sure, as long as the change is received before night ends.

In general the only time I may lock the thread is if I am in the process of writing the end of night scene. If that happens, the thread will not be locked for more than a few minutes. If you see the thread is locked, then that means you have run out of time to change your night action. Come back in 5 minutes and you can continue to play the game assuming you are still alive.

I tried to run this exact game with all outlined mechanics last February during marathon weekend.

Randommidget and Mallowgeno Share The Win Night 4

I am rather pleased with this result. Random got the most protects throughout the game. Mallow got the most kills including a critical hit night 3. TheBrie would have lived if not for that.

If I ever run this game again it will have shorter nights. 2 days at max. If run on marathon day it will have short nights

Instead of Killing Sprees and dice used to possibly break dead locks, player that gets most protects at night has their kill super charged that night. This way you earn those super kills.

You not sending an action will result in you being super killed in next game. Super kills will go through regardless of how many protects are blocking them.

Okay if you into that.

JDGA had worst luck in this game getting double crited night 1. She was targeted for two kills and protected twice. Had neither been crit, she would have lived, but both were crits. If it was only one I'd feel bad. Seeing both those rolls go crit make me think you hit some bad karma. Hope you make peace with Lords of Dice. That sort of thing happening on night 1 lead me to believe super kills as a result of getting protected the most, is way to go. Not sure if super kills should be unstoppable or just count as 2. I think I'll run it with them counting as two and if that does not go well, make them unstoppable after that. Gonna run this game with those effects, next marathon weekend.
