I can look at what he's posted and tell you that he is a newbie that knows not what he does. The first newbie mistake is to assume that the scum are all idiots and will fall into any trap you set. I honestly thought his first post was sarcastic until he FOSd people for not voting him.

My second post was also meant to be sarcastic.

So you expect us all to blindly follow you on a wagon against scigat? Can you at least give me a reason as to why him? I understand the not telling the scum the plan thing but it's not like you're anymore trustworthy then the rest of us. Others can follow if they want, I wont.

A possibility: a scum trying to act overly-righteous and townie. To me, you over-reacted to someone who "announced" that he's just trying apply some pressure. At the same time you didn't FOS him other than mildly qualifying his alignment as "it's not like you're anymore trustworthy than the rest of us". Doesn't this sound just too "I want to act like a townie" act.

At the same time, you ignored my comment "let's get sniggat to L-2". Why?

Arrow Near, you're going way too far in trying to push bad positions and not doing enough to talk about your real suspicions. Your 63 is ridiculous. It's interesting that it seems to agree with neko's 47, though. My initial take on your 63 was that you were trying to make neko look bad. Based on that, your 15 (the hostility of which really rubbed me the wrong way), and your overly agressive vote on Snix, I think I'm gonna vote: Near.

That was your initial take? How about now? When I consider it, if you thought my post was a sarcastic post making fun of neko's 47, I wouldn't find it ridiculous at all. Do you disagree?

The truth is, I went with the badwagon. I hoped to get some reactions from scigatt. Random and maybe ridiculous? Maybe. Counterproductive? I don't think so.

As for #15, what hostility? It was a random voting stage, dude. Yes, perhaps I tried to look semi-smart by being sarcastic, but it was 90% joke and 10% trying to get a response.

Jester, I am not a sarcastic player. You can check out my posts on other games. You will see that I make sarcastic posts once in a while, i write most of my posts seriously.

One thing I want to make sure tho: I didn't claim sarcasm on this post. I said it is "ridiculous". I think this distinction is important.

I conceded that the way I made the proposal could *sound* ridiculous. You judge for yourself. I guess there are two options: 1) I am scum and I am trying to explicitly get a bandwagon going on scigatt or 2) I am townie and I am trying to apply pressure to someone I find semi-scummy.

I'll go with an unvote combined with a FOS: Near for now. If you're a naturally sarcastic player, you'll be naturally sarcastic throughout the game into days 2 and 3 and beyond. If your sarcasm is just an act to hide scummish behavior, then you'll forget to be sarcastic, even with this little post to remind you.

Jester, your post sets me up for the future indictment. The truth is, it's not that I will "forget" to be sarcastic but it is that no one is sarcastic all the time. In fact, I don't even consider myself more sarcastic than average.

Do you think Near is scum?

Not really but I think he's probably a better choice than most. Basically all he has done is try to draw attention to himself by looking scummy. His only real posts of any length discuss the definition of sarcastic vs. ridiculous, or something like that.

This implies you think there are better candidates. Who are these candidates. I am assuming one of them is peers. Who else? And why?

Also, does anyone else get the impression that since the beginning escapade, Near has been playing *very* quietly, not saying much, staying relatively in the background? Maybe its just me, but I'm sensing something is amiss.

I'm not sure what to make of this game. Everyone seems to be playing safe. And many have requested for a replacement. I did a quick re-read and don't really have any idea. Therefore, I agree with xtomx and request we get a deadline of something like 3 weeks. This might not be the best thing for town, but I am wiling to yield a small disadvantage to get this game moving.

Nice. THings are picking up again.

I read until page 8. So far, Yvonne and THeAdmiral look scummiest to me. I actually think they could be scum buddies. Basically, neither of them make any kind of committed accusations on anyone and are pretty wishy washy in their discussions. Keyword: Non-committal.

I will finish reading the rest tomorrow and post a more detailed analysis.
