This may sound silly but it's hard for me to explain. I'm not partiurarly a fan of XXX's music, but something about this album just sounds so right. There are songs like Depression and Obsession upon first hearing I think it's going to be a horrible song. I'm not a fan of the guitar used in it. But the words used just speak to me. I've always thought of XXX being a rapper that just yells. Like he does in RIP Roach and Look at me. Then I listen to this album and I can hear his emotion and it's deep.

Songs like Jocelyn Flores which is one of my favorites on the Album just makes me feel like I'm in his mind reading his thoughts. Like he says in "The Explanation" he truly gave his all with this Albulm and I can hear it in his voice

Also Kendrick endorsed it. Apprarently he's played through it 5 times now

i dont like the first three songs to luv is rage 2. 4th one is decent. 5th is okay. 6th is something i could jam to kind of. 444+222 is a little better the more i listen to it. i think i was actually jamming to it for a second actually but i skipped it after it stopped being cool. feelings mutual is eh. neon guts bumps lol. the one after that isnt even memorable.

oh shit this unfazed thing came on. i like the beginning but uzi really needs to do something with this. lets see. takes waaaaaaaay too long for him to come in and his flow is the same as the other songs but hes doing a little better.

alright pretty mami my last since i need to get an impression on this x album. i like the chorus and beat, and i like how his voice fades into it in the chorus. i like how it plays out but sounds eerily similar to lots of other songs on the album. it's just way better executed. i especially like where it plays his voice as the beat. cool shit.

listening to x album. since apparently 2nd half is better, im starting with fuck love. chorus singer sounds shit. the beat is really cool. it's crazy what some of the producers out here can do. i dont want x singing. i like it, but i don't. i want something to happen on this beat. the fact that this chorus singer keeps coming on is grinding my ears.

It'll grow on you. Trust me.

I also think you have to look at things differently here as well. I think the way you should judge this album should be in comparison to the standards set by all the new rappers in Uzi's class from Yachty to 21 to Kodak and others. You shouldn't listen to this album and expect Kanye or Kendrick level artistry, or Jay level lyrical ability, no. Times have changed and so has the soundscape of hip-hop and also what's acceptable in it. Now, with all of that in mind, when you look around at Uzi's peers and what their recent outputs have been quality wise, and judge Luv is Rage 2 based off of that, he honestly has just released a classic album that will be remembered as one of the best debuts of this current sound in hip-hop.

okay but you have to understand that eminem and tyler are still intelligent enough to be able to form their own opinions about the world and create lyrical compositions that tell us some sort of story. they also dont blast any gays on twitter from what ive seen. like, it doesnt really matter to me if a rapper isnt school smart, but they have to have some common sense.
