• Rules (you should probably read these)

1. Assuming you don't lynch anyone, a day phase should last two weeks. When the two weeks are up, the game will enter a deadline. In every 24-hour block after the deadline, a majority of the living players must post or the game will go to night. Basically, lynch quickly or keep things active.
   
2. If the game goes to night due to a deadline, there won't be a lynch. Someone has to consciously place a hammer.
   
3. You may choose to go to night without a lynch before then, by having half of the players
   vote: No Lynch
   .
   
4. Night deadlines are "whenever I next get online 48 hours after [the lynch scene/finding any necessary replacements]." If I'm missing your choice and you're on AIM, I'll contact you and give you a minute to think of something. Otherwise, you'll just miss your choice. I will not announce day sooner, even if all choices are in.
   
5. Scum may both daytalk and nighttalk privately amongst themselves.
   Other players may not. Not even with dead players. Not even
   between
   two dead players, unless they receive clearance from me first. Players may ask nonplaying rantbuddies nicely if they would ever replace into this game and, if they say that they won't, proceed to rant. Rantbuddies should not be doing your scumhunting or passing messages along. I am of course available, sympathetic and discreet.
   So is Patrick, who reviewed the setup.
   
   
6. 'Dead' means 'dead.' Don't post a "Bah," don't AIM the guy who hammered you to tell him what a scumbag he is, and definitely don't keep making game-relevant posts. Just lie there...and think dead thoughts.
   
7. Votes should be in the format '
   vote: Glorcthulu
   .' If they are not bold, they won't count. I will register misspellings and nicknames if I can figure out who you're referring to. You do not have to
   unvote
   , but you're welcome to do so anyway.
   
8. Do try to be active, and leave a notification in-thread, on V/LA and/or by PM if that's not possible. Living players may publically or privately request a prod for a player who hasn't posted in at least 48 hours. I will automatically send one out to anyone who hasn't posted in a week. (In Elmo's case, I will automatically send one out to him just whenever.) If asked, I will disclose the status of any prod.
   
9. I will seek a replacement for anyone who has not picked up a prod for 72 hours (unless it's known to be on vacation) or has requested replacement. If you have been prodded more than twice in the same day phase, I will confront you about this. (In Elmo's case, I will confront him just whenever.)
   
10. When a player has the majority of the votes at a single point, it is dead (unless it isn't) and the game goes to twilight. No one may post in twilight.
    
11. I'll try to post one votecount per page. If I miss a page, I'll edit a votecount into the top of the page. Every page will have a votecount somewhere. If I make mistakes in my votecount, it is your right to verbally abuse me. "Point them out gently" my ass.
    
12. The out-of-character and
    tags are for mod usage only.
    

    Don't quote or make any references to the specific wordings of PMs from me. But do read them.
    

    Don't reference ongoing games. Don't take advantage of any abilities you might have as a list mod. Don't flame players excessively. I might be forgetting some things; I reserve the right to add rules and clarifications mid-game as I see fit.

You have a horrible, scary night. If you get any sleep at all, it involves nightmares of being torn apart by werewolves, with only a fancy Ellipsese graphing calculator to defend yourself. Finally, you get out of the house, into the safety of the majority.

You see someone else--Rotten Snitch--tap a large man he probably doesn't know very well on the shoulder and whisper, "Watch my back."

In a very loud voice which you are

"From the werewolves!"

"Oh. Um. Okay."

Appalled by the ignorance, Skruffs jumps in at this point. "You know, the werewolves! They killed the mayor!"

Rotten Snitch stares at him. "Wait, they killed the mayor?!"

Skruffs shrugs. "Missing. But there was that girl who was running around shouting about werewolves earlier. She's also not here. Maybe they killed

her.

"Oh." Skruffs considers this for a few minutes. "So...nobody's actually dead."

"Strappado is dead."

Rotten Snitch glares at the laughing NPC who's supposed to be protecting him. "Look, maybe she was kind of feral, and maybe she did sleep on my doorstep a few times, but she meant well. She left me a squirrel once. And she had a steady day job as an insurance agent--it'd be stupid to sell everyone insurance and

then

kill them."

"I'm out of here," the NPC says. In fact, it turns out that very few people are interested in saving Caret. And there are others like JDodge who would have helped, but got wrapped up in the Seizure Party surplus instead. Soon, there are only eleven of you crazies left standing in your little lynchcrowd.

But you know it's up to you.
