If we're gonna set a start time for games, then start the game at those times, I think. It has gotten to the point where I think it has lost its "surprise" factor and the issue it was trying to correct isn't really prevalent anymore
I think this is meaningful enough to do sometimes, because of the way it sets up a 2v2v2 dynamic in the real starting tribes. I think that's something interesting that it can add.

Returning players that we aren't told about is kind of bastard. Yeah, some people managed to guess it, but like when Monty was like "I think there are returning players" we were all like "oh no there definitely won't be he's crazy"
hey now speak for yourself :P

i figured there was a good chance he was right just because i couldn't otherwise explain why hannibal was online so much

At least Washington and Hannibal didn't design the next set of tribes, right? Hannibal's Old World and Washington's New World!
wow thats a twisted and unfair idea that would be pretty fucked

PLUS...doing well in challenges already rewards you with immunity. Why are we overvaluing challenge performance even more? Not only do they get to ride through pre-merge safe, and have a better shot at winning later challenges, but now they also get to have an advantage by buying more items?
I'll have more to say when I get home and this kind of dovetails into an essay I have planned for the other thread, but this community UNDERvalues challenge performance to a ridiculous extent and this was a direct challenge to that.
the solution to this problem is less swaps

it's kind of an interesting dynamic in the show where the premerge is more dangerous for weak challenge players. sure that's less pronounced in recent seasons but it's still part of the conversation
