Yeah, it should definitely be on the Listmod to scale it since there's always going to be an inherent mod bias. I like the scale of 1-20 or 1-10 idea, but if we implement this we need to go through past games and score them.
I think what irked me about the twist-heaviness was this sentence:
The thing with Mafia game normalcy is that the Notmal queue actually lets the mod implement exactly one non-Normal rule if they so choose. Borobudur or however that's spelled was a pretty good idea, I wish there was a little bit more clarity, but I did fairly quickly get to the point of "find the dude who can do the thing, he will only do it if you get to him from somebody else in particular". There's also the other extreme, guys like Kirrahe in Mass Effect who were like "I'm going to vote once and then get myself modkilled for inactivity".
Returnee twists that are impossible to plan for definitely aren't good. I think this was the first returnee twist we've ever had where there wasn't a warning at the beginning of the game (Greece and its Redemption Island) and the players in the game had no say as to who returned (like Arkham Asylum where everyone alive got a vote, or Hogwarts/Mass Effect where it was a reward given to an individual player). Does the show even value tribal challenge performance nowadays? They'll edit in someone saying "Do we vote this person out even though it'll be bad for us in challenges?" at some point most seasons and then they vote out that person anyway. I don't feel like that rewarded individual performance in tribal challenges nearly as much as it rewarded getting lucky enough to have a tribe that would win challenges. The reward each time for winning a challenge was considerably larger than anything an individual could receive for their own successes.
Remember that I've been the person that yells "TRANSPARENCY TRANSPARENCY TRANSPARENCY" in most mods' faces since PSV. And that's been me yelling about things a lot more minor than this.“The assumption of good faith is dead”

GoT didn't feel that swap-heavy, which was weird. It was two days in the traveling tribes, three cycles in the first actual phase, two in the second (three boots since one was a double TC), and one in the third. Maybe it was before the no-day-off-between-TC-and-challenge movement started and that's why it felt longer.“The assumption of good faith is dead”

I agree, you don't need pre-merge challenge performance to mean things post-merge. Especially since on the real show, it usually means bad things. And there's not really any dominant post-merge challenge performer a lot of the time...first two I can think of other than this game were Jesse in Season Finale and Tyrion in Thrones. Yeah, but I feel like there's no easy way to maintain that without really long tribal phases, longer than the show even. We're not going to be able to copy every element of the show like that for the obvious reason of not actually spending 39 days on an island. This was a discussion I've been having with various people since I got here, with Mario Bros and then the design stuff that went into Bahamas. Finding ways to involve everybody in challenges is really important. I remember paying this a ton of mind in the Bahamas pre-merge but then since the climate changed, I didn't care at all about it when designing Bands.In post 166, BROseidon wrote:

Well there's always a way to make stuff individual but still give everybody a part in it. There was the Solipskier challenge, both duel challenges (dots and boxes, and the bells), the challenge with the six different types of puzzles, etc.
EDIT: Plus, you could always have challenges done in small groups within a tribe. My games have tried this with Password in Bands and the Chain Reaction bonus round in Bahamas. Allowing a tribe to split up makes things a little bit easier on them.“The assumption of good faith is dead”
