Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

My first play through was on Legendary, I lasted three months. My current play through is on Legendary again and I'm four months in and fingers crossed feeling good.

The early game is so much more forgiving then XCOM the first's, god bless the lack of thinmen and the inability of the troopers to one shot your rooks.

I have taken my first loss of my second run, her epitaph in the memorial is "Maybe grenading codex pods is a bad idea".

Pro-tip: Lobbing incendiary devices into the middle of a pack of codexi does not end well.

Second casualty of the legendary run and it was a ranger again, just had a Major miss his automatic bladestorm attack and manage to hit the car he was hiding behind causing it to blow up killing himself.

I was impressed.

Started the final mission with this squad only to realize partway through I forgot the medkit at home.

Who needed a safety net anyways?

Never researched it. Elerium was needed for guns, not toys right up until I had final tier gear and by then it was the endgame and I had no time/need for it.

There was also really no room in the squad for one either, 1 Ranger / 2 Grenadiers was the core of my squad, 1 Specialist for overwatching and robotic units, 1 Sniper for initiation and clean up duty only leaves me with one slot to play with. While I could have gone with a Psi Op there nothing matches the damage output of a Gunslinger Sniper (on maps with no timers) and legendary really comes down to having enough firepower to kill them before they can shoot back.

The final score was Xeno Scum - 2 XCOM - 617.

This gets the award for unfair pod of the playthrough but even it was no threat before the bullshit power that is phantom rangers and grenadiers.

new expanion was incredibly dope

got it beat on commander and now that i know the mechanics going in for my legend run really digged all the new classes even if reaper is the most busted thing ive ever used

once again a no psi run i really need to force myself to make a psionic one of these days but they cost way too much and waste the most valuable resource in xcom (xp) with how theyve been implimented now that weve got three new classes to slot into a 6 man squad its really hard to find them a slot anyways
