Well for the most recent night they presumably didn't have time to submit an action, like the rest of us. Would imply the day skip didn't come from mafia. That or the mafia has a limited number of kills since a day skip would be a perfect way to make sure one of their kills is actually executed, meaning that almost certainly can't be it.

Yeah I still really don't buy that the two are related. I can't imagine a role that force replaces someone, that would be super unfair.

"Why" would they skip the night is a good question though. I... really don't know.
