Uhhhh are you sure?

He led the league in AY/A one year, was in the top 10 4 years of his career (8, 8, 10, 3) and didn't finish in the top 10 in any other years. For his career he was slightly above average in the stat to slightly below average in the stat (A/YA+) except for 2 very good years, which yes, were when TO was on the team.

Like he was slightly above average in A/YA over his career, but certainly not "through the roof"

You're also overselling his completion percentage, which was not league average but was instead varying levels of bad. He only finished 2 years in his career with a completion%+ of over 100 (where 100 represents league average.) He was instead anywhere from 5-10% worse than league average over his whole career.

Like, I think this is another case where he was not very good or very bad, just a totally fine NFL QB. Which is tremendously valuable. Most teams have a difficult time finding those.

This is certainly true. I'm just saying that McNabb was basically just a cromulent NFL QB.

And I really like the dude because Cuse.

right, he hovered at about 96-99 and never hit the lows of say...Eli. and his AY/A+ was consistently above average. Sometimes far above average.

I mean if this is an argument over McNabb was better than Eli you'll get no argument from me.

McNabb is not mediocre. That's it. That's my entire argument.

you gotta look at the team and coach, no way was McNabb better than Eli

yes, stats might be better, overall team performance might be better, but on an individuality (I know it's hard to judge that in a team sport), Eli is decent, McNabb, mediocre at best

and his football knowledge is poop

I'm of the opinion that Reid is mediocre.

and at least now we know this is about him not knowing football could tie, which isn't a big deal.

nah, it goes way beyond him not knowing about tying, but ya, I just wanted to talk some shit on McNabb because I think he gets too highly regarded and after many years of watching him I realized he's just crap with a great coach

Andy Reid is a great coach!

I think Reid is mediocre. And I think McNabb was solid.

And I think McNabb was a hell of a lot better than Manning at every point.

I think Reid and McNabb were about equal in their ability. Both somewhat above average. Neither could pull it out when it mattered, but I'd say their inability to win a championship with their better squads was much more on Reid than McNabb

Eli has never had a season that really even comes close to McNabb's 2004 season.

eh? EH....

I feel like the smart call would have been to punt instead of trying to convert on 4th and 20. Like I guess I could see Shannahan's POV with all those long bombs Hoyer made tonight (and the San D had been kinda shit at stopping Goff) but the D

Honestly for only ending the game with a two-point difference, the Rams looked so much better than the 49ers. San Fransisco took advantage of some goofy shit though, and gave themselves a chance. They put points on the board, so I gotta give them that.

What’s going on with that defensive line though? They have young top talent on there and didn't get any pressure on Goff tonight. Or do much else in their other games if I’m remembering correctly.

I think it's a case of two teams with bad defences making each others offences look good.

I didn't watch the game but the stat line is p good man.

If Deshaun Watson had that stat line I'd be stoked.
