Lucky - I want to go on record here and say I don't actually like the play that Morph is making here with this fake claim. He is essentially created an artificial gladiate situation. While he will be proven right, it was a very selfish and egotistical move that on Day 1 he was taking the game out of the rest of town's hands and forcing them to make a decision between believing him or not. Having said all that... *shrug* Nothing we can do about it.

Mm, might be biased here, but they did leave themselves room to back off if MKA had responded in a towny way. Going 'hey, this is clearly fake because I'm town, but I don't see a scum motive for [morph] to pull this play, so let's work to find actual scum' or something smarter than that even might have gotten them to rescind it. And it is basically a version of gladiate, which means the scum team should know it's fake and be able to argue from that stance with 100% conviction. It's a nerfed Desperado, if I'm recalling that role right.

Plus, JFC, we wouldn't put that role in the game. There are zero game-changing roles that can activate during the day, and given that scum were given the means to counter most useful town power, I'm kind of meh that they didn't work from there.

It does suck for scum here.

He might have left room to take it back, but the problem is that he's not. He got a reaction that he thinks makes them more likely scum so use that and stop doubling down that it's not a gambit.

But that's so subjective anyway. When wake fakeclaimed a guilty on ferry, he said she didn't react in a townie way cuz too calm (and that's she's actually on board with this stupid gambit after being on the receiving end is mind boggling), but she was town. When mafia fakeclaimed a guilty on Arthur I thought his reaction proved him guilty.

You get lucky when you're right there, but it doesn't make it right to do.

I'm not a fan of most gambits, but that's the all time worst. Even when the gambiter is correct and it doesn't end up destroying the town, it damages the game of mafia as a whole and ruins your credibility. These fake claims by town is part of what's bugging me about mafia lately.

Elsewhere, Porkens is quickly winning 'most amusing part of the game' for me. Admittedly as mod I don't have to try to parse his schtick, but for Day One at least it works and entertains me, so I'm good. 10/10, would snag for games again.

I was hoping ffery would out the gambit, disappointing she's going along with it. I'm not sure why morph plays the games the way they do, but it's really disappointing to see.

When a player like ffery commits to a fake guilty gambit, I just don't think the new meta around here will ever get better. I think ms really is no longer for me.
