You may directly quote from the game thread into any PT you have been provided for the game (such as the scum thread), but you may not quote from the PT into the main thread. You may, however, use your PT to draft a post with the intent to post it in the main thread, so long as you do not directly quote it when making the transition.
Discussing this game outside of moderator-provided methods of communication is forbidden. This includes contacting any other player via PM, Skype, or other means to discuss anything game related.
Using provable randomness is forbidden. Saying you rolled a dice is fine; using dice tags is not.
If you have the ability to edit your posts, please refrain from doing so.
Do not attempt to impersonate the mod.

Activity Rules

I will prod after 48 hours of inactivity. You will then have 24 hours to post in-thread before I begin searching for a replacement.
Upon meeting the requirements for a third prod I will begin searching for a replacement.
Naked prod dodges will not reset the timer. You must include some kind of game-related content with your post.
Weekend hours are weighted half as much as weekday hours for activity purposes. This will not affect the deadline timer.
Prod timers will not reset overnight.
Please PM me when announcing V/LA as an extra precaution in case I miss it. If you have regular V/LA periods please notify me of this pregame.

Game Rules

Day phases will be 2 weeks (14 days) long, and night phases will be 2 days (48 hours) long.
Extensions may be granted in the cases of replacements and site downtime. They will not be granted just because you can’t reach a consensus.
To vote, please use the vote or bold tags (VOTE: Player or
VOTE: Player
).
Votes that misspell or have other minor errors will still be counted as a vote so long as I understand who it is meant for.
Lynches are based off simple majority (half the living players + 1, rounded down) voting to lynch someone. If no majority is reached by deadline, or a simple majority votes no lynch, then a no lynch will occur.
Twilight begins when a lynch occurs, and lasts until I lock the thread for the flip. During this time, you may still post regardless of who was lynched. However, no votes or unvotes will be counted in this time.

Setup Information

This game is based on the the Forest Fire Open Setup. Each role is named something different, but they are all functionally the same. There are two factions in this game. Town and Mafia.

The full setup and role PMs are as follows:

7v2
2 Misleaders (Arsonists) - Mafia
6 Wandering Souls (Trees) - Town
1 Intervener (Firefighter) - Town

Defined role: Lingering Spirit (Treestump) - Any Wandering Soul lynched will turn into a Lingering Soul. They will be considered Dead for voting purposes.

Let them walk for eternity.

You are a damned soul, forced to walk the earth courting souls to a similar fate as your own. Unknown to all other souls you are able to take a pleasing form and whisper words of ruin. As a
Misleader
you may attempt to lead a soul astray each night... Be warned! There is an
Intervener
that may keep souls on the right path. The Intervener can be led astray, but only if they focus on the needs of others over oneself.

Misery loves company, and you are not alone. Among the world of the living there is another Misleader, who goes by the name [PLAYER]. Together you make up the

The dice roll odds in this scenario would be 50-50.

Thoughts

Sorry to everyone that thought this game was poorly run. An outside event influenced the game and the integrity of the game was close to being compromised. I was debating abandonment the evening three people replaced out, and had been distant from the game ever since. If you think I was too slow, communicated poorly or resolved matters poorly it's all a direct continuation of how little enjoyment I was getting out of modding the game.

I would like to thank everyone that replaced in and everyone that stuck on until the end. You're all proof that I made the right decision. What caused Cheekyteeky to leave still puzzles me. I do hope they siteflaked, but if they left they left for a good reason.

It would be nice to hear from Micc and Cabd in particular about the self-protecting doc, which I believe Micc said was absent from his original set-up.

The flavor of the game was related to the wandering souls, how they were living their lives, and going on adventures, all while being aware that not everything was quite right. Lynch flips were all in the "return to the scene of the crime" spirit type of story: it was at those times I would reveal all the players were journeying together all along, paranoid of one another, while being aware that they were being followed by something else. What that 'something else' is was nothing I had defined- it was probably some kind of mental illness, delusion or manifestation of the Misleaders, or maybe the Misleaders were the delusion after all. The person looking for something was likely the Intervener. There was no real plot beyond "souls want to be happy and live, Misleaders want to drag everyone to hell." I was more concerned with building the atmosphere of the game and I hope I succeeded in that.

If I mod another game I hope I do a better job.
