Initially, the change in claim was just a "bump down a notch" which is a very cool temperatured statement.

The high heat statement comes in relation to the perceived scum claim, which incites the vote (I've been in this position as scum where I think "damn...my buddy just slipped, better bus the shit out of him before someone else buries him for it. at least this way I'll get cred. spoiler: many times, people don't jump on those things. you just notice them more as scum from your scumbros bc of your informed perspective).

But then he goes back to his biggest problem and reason for staying on the wagon being the change in claim. That is incongruent with his previous thoughts and I think demonstrates that the read isn't genuine/from town actually evaluating the game.

Not entirely true but it might not be evident.
I only gave Vedith the town read because of the claim. Town read might not even be the right word to use. Not lynching pile.
Ghost said he lied witch told me that slot is a confirmed liar but didn't think much more on it until the scum slip I saw. That reminded me there was no reason for me to even have him in the no-lynch pile. Therefore with that and the slip he goes back to being the lynch.
