Context for anyone who didn't see it: Bloodwater facechecked a couple Vulcun players in the top tribush at lvl1, and the game was paused just as he entered the brush.
Riot has come out and said that the pause was legitimate, because Mash was having computer issues. He disconnected from the game and fixed the issue. On the subject of the rule breaking, it has come out that someone asked BloodWater if he was going to be okay, and he said he should be able to get out with Flash/Exhaust.

DIG probably got screwed out of a Worlds spot (and of the #2 seed especially) by the way the seeding and results happened yesterday. Now IMT gets the second spot at Worlds for NA, and DIG/C9 should be the gauntlet final.

Well, I wouldn't count CLG out against IMT next match. They didn't look great, but it's not foretold. If CLG wins, IMT doesn't get in via points. And if DIG wins the playoffs IMT doesn't get the #2 spot either.
Can you see a scenario other than TSM/IMT finals at this point?
CLG look awful with Omar in the jungle, and while DIG are probably the second-best team in NA, I can't see them possibly beating this TSM roster coming off a bye and with a chip on their shoulder from the regular season.

If I were offered even odds, that's certainly the final I'd bet on, but upsets happen with regularity. I don't put any stock in "chips" on shoulders in a video game. And I'm not sure I see byes as that valuable for the sake of winning. It's not like football where physically resting is immensely helpful. The bye is super valuable in that you don't have a chance to lose, obviously. I'd put CLG at 35% and DIG at 30%.
I think in particular that the bye is helpful for TSM in this case as their two losses to DIG came (1) at the very beginning of the split when they were re-learning how to play with DLift and (2) right after a patch dropped that they very much failed to learn in time.
Now not only have they had an extra week to scrim and theorycraft on the Playoff patch, but they've also gotten to see not only what four top6 NALCS teams prioritize and value champs on this patch, but specifically what DIG do.

It means more than the eu one. But then again it just means having to play fly quest if you lose.
I wonder if the teams are scared enough of Flyquest to feel like they need to show anything in the 3rd-place match, or if we just see bog standard comps.
The Finals should hopefully have some spice if only because they're unlikely to play any future meaningful matches on a patch similar enough to the playoff patch, assuming Riot does their normal shake-up for Worlds.

To Panzer's point, while a lot of people think Gambit got shafted by being drawn into the pool with WE, I think it virtually assures they make it through to the main event. Though I'm also not a fan of the format where one Bo5 decides the four teams, since in theory if the ranking of the Play-in Teams is WE>Gambit>X>Rest, then X could get screwed by being drawn into the B05 vs Gambit through no fault of their own.
As for NA, IMT and TSM both got favourable draws (though TSM's while still good becomes a lot less good in the 50%+ scenario where they get WE).

Glad Fenerbahce has a good chance of getting out of groups. Fnatic's HKA match will hopefully be competitive. I only watched the YG games but Fnatic clearly having trouble figuring out how to close games.
I don't think WE will have trouble with YG.
On the plus side, TSM has a 50/50 chance of getting a wildcard team rather than WE, right? Haven't looked back at the implications since the group draw but one of one/fennerbace will make it out and can be slotted into Group D.
Slightly less than 50%, assuming one WC makes it through. If WC is drawn before WE, then TSM gets WE, while there's some scenarios where TSM gets WE even if WE is drawn before WC (the scenarios where the Group B slot is already filled).

Got annoyed at everyone on Reddit calling this Group D the easiest group in history, so decided to take a look back. Since this format was introduced in 2014, here is the group from each year that didn't have a Korean team in it:
2014: SHRC, TSM, SK, TPA
2015: FNC, AHQ, C9, iG
2016: H2k, EDG, AHQ, INTZ
2017: WE, TSM, FW, MSF
I'd argue that 2014 is clearly the strongest by a mile, but then 2017 is the next-strongest group.

This is why as non-koreans we should be rooting for RNG to take first and SSG to go up against one of the other koreans.
That 1/3 of TSM drawing SSG is terrifying though, when otherwise they should be able to make the semis somewhat comfortably.
Though if SSG does finish as a 2-seed, and all three Korean teams end up on the same side of the bracket, that would be incredible. TSM/RNG semi-finals anyone?

Any scenario where FNC doesn't advance is fine by me. Either IMT advance and we likely see 3 NA teams in Quarters, or else GAM advances which is also great.

I still think TSM is clearly the best team in their group, and definitely better than WE. I also don't really think it's fair to say historical precedent has them collapsing when historically they've been in absurdly stacked groups. No one is accusing G2 of choking or collapsing, for example.
