The truck hauling new cars somewhere bounces heavily over a pothole and the car in the back of the load jolts off the rails. The gasoline tanker swerves into the median, tilting onto its left-side wheels

A bee circles you lazily, the buzzing sound almost hypnotic. You follow it cautiously with your eyes. Suddenly it swoops in at you and lands on your throat. Every muscle in your neck and face tenses uncontrollably, but you try to stay still. It's there. You can feel it, but can't see it. It's tiny insectile feet take a random path around your voice box. You wait helplessly for the sting

You're running again. The heavy breathing and harsh footfalls draw closer. The bridge ahead sways giddily over a vast chasm. You're frozen, undecided whether to bolt to the side and keep running along the cliffside, or venture out onto the rickety structure.

You finally shake off the dream, but you can't stop your own uncontrollable shaking. You're afraid to go back to sleep, but can feel the waves of torpor washing over you. Maybe the rapidly cycling dream is done?
