I would like to pop an everstone on chikorita and go into the nearest forest (let's face it there's always a forest at the start) to start training up my Chikorita. If for some weird reason these pokemon are actually reasonably powerful and not weak like they should be at the start we leave and ask for directions to a site where the pokemon are low-level, then train there instead.

i have set up my lv 1 chikorita on smogon w/moves Tackle and Growl my username is Tranquillium if that's a thing i could like battle someone

EXP= (t*b*e*l*p*f*v)/(7*s)
t is 1 since annadog originally owned the Popplio
b is the fainted pokemon's base experience yield; for popplio that number is 64
e is 1 since annadog was not holding a lucky egg (was holding evolite)
L is 1 because popplio was level 1
p is 1 because uhhhh no power was involved
f is 1 since we do not start with any affection
v is 1 since chikorita is not yet past its evo level

so first bracket is 64

s is 1 since this pokemon participated in battle

so 64/7 for exp which is 9.14 (there are lots of digits after that but w/e) which rounds to 9 so chikorita got 9 exp points

chikorita's growth rate is Medium Slow, so they need 9 exp to progress from level 1 to level 2

therefore, I now have a level 2 chikorita

so t is 1, e is 1, l is 1, p is 1, f is 1, v is 1, s is 1 so it's Mudkip's base exp yield/7. Mudkip's base exp yield is 62, and 62/7 rounds to 9. so that's 9 more exp. also 1 attack ev because mudkip. 48 as a thing seems wonky seeing as it's literally more exp needed than slow but whatever. that means i now have 9/48 xp points needed to level up to level 3.

i think me, nm and annadog are the only ones who have done it and we all went with defaults? if you want to use egg moves i can temporarily edit my chikorita for that

What do we count as wild pokemon on the route, though? We can't really use the pokemon in 128 if they're still levels 6 to 8 until our Pokemon get stronger. (I did make a team of six weak lv 1 pokemon earlier but I'm unsure if that'd be appropriate for this?) Maybe just use those pokemon but at lv 1.

That doesn't really work either because my Chikorita is lv 2 and because it has the type advantage it will always beat a lv 1 Pichu no matter how well RR plays.

I now have a team of weak lv 1 wild pokemon with pokemon Anna provided in 128 with no Nature or Item. I can battle anyone if they wanna grind.

RR's Pichu doesn't have Growl. It does have Charm, but RR already tried that and it doesn't work, partially because it's double the level and partially because Pichu's only attacking move is Thundershock, which is only 1/2 effective against Grass-types.

http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/ is the website. from there you just click on "choose name", click on your name in the top-right, click "register", set up your account normally, then click on "teambuilder" and make a team containing your lv 1 starter

Spoiler: teambuilding things for if you don't know them

1. make sure your pokemon is set to level 1 at the start! it will automatically be at lv 100 but you can change this.
2. for moves, go to pokemon db and look for the lv 1 moves in the moves section. https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/charmander - if your pokemon isn't charmander replace "charmander" in the url with your pokemon. then just type the moves it shows into the moves slot in the teambuilder.
3. don't enter any "EVs", you don't have those yet. unless you want to sabotage yourself you should also keep IVs at default.
4. there are these things called natures. just put a + in the EV box for your pokemon's best attribute, and a - for their worst. (apart from HP that isn't in natures sorry)
