I feel so bad for Miller. He likely retire though.
Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. I read an article last night that was basically along the lines of "Brady wants to keep playing and Grap wants to be a starter" They were prob trying to re-sign him before he hits free agency and talks died down.

Yeah, likely they were trying to negotiate a 2/3-year or so deal with Jimmy G to cover the period before Tommy retires and couldn't agree terms, so they lowered their price. They still made out better than the compensatory pick if they'd let him go at the end of the season, and the 49ers get first crack at signing him to a long term deal., so it's good for both parties. Kinda surprising considering what they were saying about Beathard, though.

I can never get into Bill's head but this is what I think he is doing:

Banking on Brady making it through the rest of the season unscathed, while having Hoyer as the backup just in case. And then picking up a new QB in the draft. He must have a college QB in mind that he loves and will use that 2nd round pick on him. That's the only thing that even moderately makes sense.

i dont really get the Ajayi trade
I guess Barner gets cut, again
maybe this is more for long term than this season though as a lot of the offense right now is on short term deals that will cost too much to keep going

I was thinking maybe it was just in case sort of thing, since Sproles is gone, if another gets hurt, they like a handful of RBs (on hand)

I don't think Barner gets cut

I'm setting expectations to 5-11 for the rest of the season and only tuning in to lol at Shula's desperate attempts to just once get one play put up on his daddy's fridge for being creative, and to see what Cam "the literal Riddler" Newton wears to sulk in after 11 straight losses @ his press confrences.

They got good value for him.

But its a very odd trade to make at 5-2.

The issue is Olsen is out... we have no running game... we have no O-Line... so I don't for the life of me understand why, at 5-3, we decided to get rid of our WR1 for the sake of a couple of non-first-round draft picks.
It's just absurd to me.

I think that you maybe answered your own question. Maybe, despite the record, they don't expect to be able to make the playoffs this year. In that case, getting what you can for a player on an expiring contract is a good move.

Also, you're undervaluing the draft picks, they got pretty close in value to what the pats got for garrapalo, for instance, for a player who is a good, but not elite WR. That's a very good haul.

I just think the panthers must have made a decision that they're not going to be able to make the playoffs this year. It's an odd decision, but if you take that as their mindset, their decision makes sense.

Also, they have never believed in Benjamin for some reason.

about to be suspended?

more likely he's about to get injured I guess. I mean he is going to the Bills as a WR
