2017 Weekly NFL Confidence Points Pick'em

Rules

Each week, players will pick the winners of each NFL match-up via a google form or PM. Additionally, each player must assign "confidence points" for each match-up. "Confidence Points" represent how confident you are that you have picked the correct team in the match-up. You must use all match-ups for the week.
Players must assign anywhere from 1 to 10 confidence points. You may only assign the 1 "confidence point" level to one of the match-ups. This also continues for all of the 1 through 9 "confidence point" levels. The only "confidence point" level that may have duplicates is the 10 "confidence point level". As such, you are essentially ranking all the match-ups with several tied at the 10 point level, and then one each from 9 through 1.
Each week is considered a separate game, but there will be an overall season winner for those that wish to enter every single week during the season. The overall season winner will have the most total points.
Tiebreaks to determine the winner for the week will be resolved in the following order:
1. Chose the most unique (only person that chose) 10 point teams.
2. Lowest confidence point value won.
3. Second lowest-confidence point value won.
etc.

Week 1 has been locked in. Here are the picks:

Everyone's off to a great start. Aronis just a bit better than others because of the confidence points, but it's still a tie.

TwoInAMillion did not complete the form fully, but will gain points for all the other matchups.

ATL vs CHI and PIT vs CLE had the most consensus for confidence points (as well as winner choice)
ARI vs DET seems to have the least consensus.

For future weeks, we'll just be doing PM entries, because this google form isn't working the way I'd like - I'll notify of that on Sunday.

Interesting observations. GB was unanimously picked, and all but 2 contestants had them at 10 pts. The others went for either 5 or 1 pt.

There's a tie for first - and no way possible that anyone can beat them at this point. peg ties for first again, but with Xalxe this time. But this time, Xalxe wins the week! No one can beat him at this point. The tiebreak has Xalxe winning the 4 point contest, while peg does not.

For week 5, there are 2 fewer games than normal due to bye weeks. So that means there should only be 5 ten point games this time.

Seems like a lot of people don't have confidence in a game like Cleveland vs. NY Jets - quite a few 1s (and only the foolish pablito has one of them at 10).
Carolina, New York Jets, Tennessee, Seattle, and Tampa Bay all only have 1 ten. Considering this is the tiebreaker - this might be the first time it's used to determine the winner.

Also, I'm starting to track the overall scores by total points, average points per week entered and the final metric is (Player Score)/(Winner Score) which should help track how close peg was to the winner each week. There's lots of variability each week because of bye weeks and random upset weeks - so I figured there needed to be some statistic that wouldn't penalize players for having entered only those weird weeks.

This week is a bit odd, as the two potential winners both picked the same team.

So currently in the lead is PokerFace. And if Green Bay takes the win, PokerFace and D3f will tie at 52, but PokerFace has a tiebreak of picking the most unique 10 pointers by having picked Jacksonville. But if Detroit takes the win, Mjollnir goes to 59 whereas PokerFace will end up with 58 (along with Kmd4390).

This seems to be a week where one shift in the rankings would have changed everything.

For week 10 there are 14 games. As such, you should end up with 5 ten-pointers.

Week 14 in the books because everyone put PIT for 10 points.

We have a three way tie at 65 with pablito, pickemgenius, and PokerFace!

The first tiebreaker is who chose the most unique 10 pointers. And despite having seven 10 pointers per entry during non-bye weeks, we actually have one unique 10 pointer! That was Kansas City...who was picked by pablito! Congrats on the third win.

Due to lack of entries, I'll accept until Saturday gamestart. Any entries after Thursday's gamestart must have DEN vs. IND as the 1 point game and will automatically pick the loser - thus earning 0 points for that game. This is only in effect for this week.

Week 16 i actually had better confidence spread but my comment was about moral winners because most people dropped out ofthe game. Overall winner is by overall points not by number of weeks won, but i think originally that was the wrong choice of metric. I didn't want an overall winner but needed a motivation for people to do multiple weeks. If you think it was unfair because no one saw my choices that's why there was a strict deadline of Thursday so I could post my choices too but I got lazy later. All my choices were the same as my other pickem game (albeit without confidence) so I could provide that to confirm if needed. I also did not pick up PMs until after I did my choices so that's why you might have had your PM in outbox until Wednesday nights even though I was logging on.

You were the only one who submitted week 17 so you win and you can have the overall season win then. Congrats.

I'm out of town and have no access to the overall spreadsheet.

This game was not fun to host because it is was a lot of work and I will not do it next year. It could easily be outsourced to some fantasy website if there is interest next year. But I always finish my games so thanks for getting to the end of the season!
