Yeah, this game's good, FUCK Player Unknown and FUCK his Battlegrounds.

'Cept for the bit where I've never played it, but based solely on video footage and promotional material, it seems pretty inferior to Fortnite.

Yeah, art style's a big part of it.

I'm much more drawn to the colorful, fun graphics of Fortnite than to Generic Military Shooter #4637: This Time With An Obscene Amount of Players

Fortnite's got style and character to it, and while PUBG has managed to intrigue me with the near-universal praise it gets... It doesn't do enough to convince me to spend anywhere NEAR the amount of money they want me to pay for it.

Meanwhile, Fortnite being free made it an easy decision to try it out, and I can't say I regret it.
Now that I know I can enjoy this type of game I might be inclined to give PUBG a proper try too, but uh. Not for $29.99 I'm not.
