So let's analyze the situation. I counterclaimed another player(who was already probably going to be ran up to l-1 and/or gladiated). That player then voted me in self defense under the assumption that I'm scum faking a counterclaim to get them lynched in a non-lylo situation(while the pressure was already on, remember). Then the replacement for a slot that that same player (along with half the game for like day 1-2)was calling comes in and immediately votes me because "gut read".

Guys. I'm scum. They got me. It's ironclad. Really.

The main reason you talked about for putting faith in panzer and lld BOTH is the power claim stuff that happened right? (Lemme know if im blind and missed something else).

My hunch is that they would both openly admit they would do something like that as either alignment. (We can verify that here!)

So is there other stuff.

And however much I want to discuss it role free.
my instinct is that the double commuter claims is actually what it looks like
at least one faked.

I'm busy atm but I'll look and think about the pairings stuff later if I feel like it.

I'm not sure how useful it is.

like i think its kinda just a summary of the list i put earlier except i think you strongly have lld/panzer as different alignments when I do have some paranoia about them making a play together

Not me, but I would imagine someone could say:

1- Because you are
2- Because You have a BLUE PM
3- Because I said so

So there! :P

That would be nice, but would you be able to build on it? You already know your cost, so do the math and see if it helps before you decide whether to claim.

Basically, yes. I mean, I could come up with weaker arguments for either individually, but assuming they're Town together is basically due to that.

See, that's not really how words work. In order to be "caught for the wrong reasons" someone would have to actually give a reason.

Almost50 thinks you're town mainly because of the claim point argument D1.
I'm saying that's the type of thing you'd probably do regardless of alignment.

Is it?

No. It's pointless to do as scum, because of this very question. You can argue it a neutral play far too easy so the reward for cutting off free information isn't matched by the amount of town credit. It's a thankless thing, imo. As town, if you can obfuscate even a smidgen of the info that scum gets in that situation, it doesn't matter if you can take credit. You won the battle of not giving scum an inch more than they are already goven.

That's also the crux of why I think that it's a good scum play to ask. You can sell it as town given the reaction it got from people who've played this rare Mechanix before, because "you're trying to solve the game and prevent the drawback from this mechanic i.e overloading" but as scum you're also getting a ton of info. As a Townie you might hesitate to call for that, as scum I think you jump on that opportunity to ask for information for the "greater good".

In summation, I think the act of asking for the information has a lot more risk/reward for scum but could also be the pro-town best play (I don't have the experience or knowledge to judge if that's true), while I feel cutting off that information is a lot less beneficial as a scum player because of the sentiment that "mechanic discussion is neutral" and receiving incomplete information is a bad trade for the small amount of leverage you'd squeeze out of it.

I think you know that basically any action I've taken this game is inside my scum range. I've yet to do anything I feel is outside it.

So, you're basically acknowledging you have yet to "towntell" as everything you have said and done so far "is inside your scum range". Right? So, how do you expect anyone to even lean town on you when hat's the case?

Elli is asking if anything I've done here is something that is outside of my scum range and inside my town range.

That is a very tiny hole, because my scum range is huge.

So what I'm saying is, my town range covers my scum range and then a tiny bit more and we haven't hit that tiny bit more. What I am doing I could do as scum, it's a question of my motivations, intent and essentially you asking yourself "why did LLD do this?" and seeing that "LLD is probably town because of this motivation".
