VOTE: wosi

As skitter noted, they waited until it felt safe to hop on my wagon before voting.

I also scum read chip butty. In they remove their rvs vote, but in the subsequent post place a new rvs vote.

Sephiroph, I think you are town, but I don't like the activity precedent you are trying to set, and I'm being upfront now about probably not following it.

My point to tiam is that town withold a lot of information from a game due to it being irrelevant to finding alignments.

please explain how claiming scum is a gambit.
The risk is in getting a town mislynched.

The reward is getting a wealth of discussion to analyze.

That second part is a thing I did immediately after "claiming scum" btw so as weak as a gambit it was it still ultimately paid off.

I need to catch up. Not many posts, but they are substantial, and I'd like to reread some of the skitter interactions.

When I first played with wavemode, I dismissed them as stupid town. They were scum. From skimming the others' posts about him, it sounds like he's playing the "stupid town" card again. I will confirm this with my own eyes on catch up.

Wavemode's misrepresentation of skitter's scum read on wosi as a function of time as opposed to events is extremely dishonest. I expect a wosi scum flip to implicate wave.

Hard reminder that tells based on a timespan are ABSOLUTE FUCKING SHITTY ASS GARBAGE AND IF YOU'RE USING THEM YOU SHOULD FEEL REALLY FUCKING BAD ABOUT YOURSELF.

There are a couple of interactions between wavemode and skitter that I didn't bother to read. It is probably safe to assume they're rehashing their points back and forth.

Sephiroph, what post are you arguing with tacos about? It's probably one of the early ones.

There's a lot of tunneling in this thread atm, and I don't think it's particularly useful. The most substantial reads atm are still from before page 5ish.

Dani

Your point is fair. I shouldn't have conflated word count with substance.

I think that skitter is town. I liked skitter's point against wossi, and they are still interacting with other players.

Wave is probably town because I'm only taking issue with one of their pushes. Even if I don't like their pushes, as per their recollection of the game I played with him I'm willing to offer the benefit of the doubt that there's a method to their madness.

My scum reads on wossi and chip butter have not changed much, if at all.

I might add lalendra to my scum pool. I think it's fair to be frustrated with a change in site meta in regards to reading post timing (which is a frustration I've already hinted at btw), while still being apathetic to this game. Throwing suspicion on me and then voting for my counterwagon also doesn't make much sense. Their "scum read" on wossi also looks like role fishing.

The only reason this isn't a hard scum read is because lalendra is known to be lynchable.

VOTE: Mulch

In addition to the post cited above:

-> ISO is FULL of wishy washy language around his reads.

-> x read because meta means "i need room to fabricate reads so I can strategize my lynches"

-> Has tried to invoke policy reasoning on both of his votes. Also somehow considering chip butty less useful than tiam is absolute bullshit.

I'm not going to give him a free pass for something just because it happened early on. His explanation doesn't make sense. After what page number can I look for reasons to vote someone?
It's not about page numbers. It's that scum does more than one scummy thing, and giving early game reasoning the benefit of the doubt is usually a good thing to do.

You're allowed to do whatever you want. I'll judge it accordingly. I don't see a reason to acknowledge someone you're about to hammer calling you scum.

Your point about having more focused scum reads inside who you are considering for scum is fair.

I respect you guys wanting to try and solve the game but there's no way to infer anything from TIAM's hammer. All we really have is that this game is a lost cause if they're town.

I'll vote in a few days because there's a few good posts here like chip's most recent ones but I'm not expecting much and I'm kinda demotivated atm.

Yeah I don't believe wavemode

-> setup was balanced at massclaim and wave didn't challenge it.

-> tiam tried a shitty role gambit that I don't think he was smart enough to conjure up himself. That means he was coached. It makes sense for scum wave to be consistent with role gambiting.

-> Sephiroph has been a town read of mine for the majority of the game.

I mean . . . .Serg was hoping to do the same thing yesterday.

And that vig was suspected to be a maybe!SK, and decided to shoot a guy who was townread instead of the guy who quickhammered, so yeah.

Plenty of people have done idiotic things this game, so wave not claiming yesterday doesn't raise that many red-flags for me right now tbh.
The player that comes off as less competent than wavemode came to their senses sooner than wavemode. That doesn't tell you something?

Wave openly admitted that scum needed to kill chip, and is still arguing that scum would have killed him instead. You're arguing things for wave that he didn't believe in.

We weren't as worried about serg's claim for several reasons, notably:

-> it aligned with his competence and his experience with irl mafia, where gambits like that make more sense
-> The motivations behind it were less sinister. If we believe wave, we lose *now.* Believing serg gave us time to flip his confirmation if need be

This is textbook confirmation bias.

The only thing wave has used to try and prove his claim is a really bad crumb. That's extremely telling.

Remember jjh's recent game? That's what playing to a power role looks like. Hinting that the neighborizor needed to be offed regardless of alignment played to my role. Immediately trusting the D1 pr claim because of how it played to my role. Wave has done nothing close to that, and if he had, he would have noted it.

So here's that scum case I was talking about.

Several points:

-> You can't cross reference everything that's been stated because of the sheer volume of granular points
-> Those same granular points are easy to fake because a townie with confirmation bias can come to similar points looking at each individual detail from the perspective of the accused being scum.
-> Many points only make sense in a bubble (of course my read on wossi was flipping. He had a hard time playing to his inactivity. Can you think of another player that has this issue...?)

Also, saying "I guess I'll make a case on flubber since I need one to win" vs "I am thoroughly convinced by my own alignment and POE that flubber is scum" is extremely telling.
