is it just me or are the Iggles for some reason running the ball less with Foles than with Wentz?
how does this make any sense? Is this just trying to get him reps or something

play calling has been questionable for a few weeks, not sure what the deal is

I partly wonder if they're checking configurations or he's not showing certain things with his play calling to save it for post season, not sure, but,

*phewwwwwwwwww*

wow, homefield through the playoffs, that is pretty exciting!

Yes I have been complaining about how replay has been used to overturn too much. The calls on the field really have been neglected. My main motivation for thinking this way is more replay means longer games with longer pauses of no action on the field. I support entertainment! And what we are having is fans watching games with refs that really don't matter. Games where on field action and calls matter less than what might have been seen by the most expensive of cameras. If the cameras are whats most important, I might as well watch every game from home and not pay for any tickets.

I think that case is stronger in Garoppolo's case, because the Texans weren't consistently winning even with Watson playing and the myriad other injuries the Texans had. But the difference between the Jimmy G-led 49ers and the Beathard/Hoyer 49ers is like night and day. They were Browns-level woeful until he took over - the race for the #1 pick was a three horse race between those two and the Giants - and now they could pick outside the top ten because they've won every game he's started and are on the longest win streak in the NFL.

Well, I'd expect the guy that's been in the NFL for 3 years who has been sitting behind the best QB to do better than a 3rd round rookie but I don't feel like Beathard has been horrible.

I'm mostly looking at box scores here and perhaps some of the 49ers points were useless garbage time but besides week 1 and the Cowboys and Eagles games (which SF wasn't going to win anyway) the games seem close. On the flip side, Jimmy G has close wins against a bad Bears team, a bad Texans team, and an eh Titans team. Is this just rust? Sure, his win over J-ville seems like quality.

On the other end, the Texans blew out the Titans and had a close loss to the Pats. True, the pats D was struggling early but still going toe 2 toe with Brady is impressive. Ditto the close loss to a pretty decent Seahawks team and a KC team that looked like a SB contender early in the year.

I'd pick Watson over Jimmy G.

yo Beathard is hot trash.

he was hot trash at Iowa and hes not been very good this year.

granted he was tossed into the fire or w.e and hes a rookie totally fair points. dude should look to the best job in the nfl and float around as a backup/3rd stringer for as long as possible. if he ever figures it out then good for him.

Its hard to rate the rookie QB class b/c not all them played but Beathard was on the worst NFL offense and beat out (IMO) other rookie QB's and two vets (even though they aren't really that good anyways)

TBF, I think I watched like one SF game.

I'd take Watson over Jimmy G too but like it's pizza and ice cream. I'm not mad either way.

Jimmy G and Watson have started about 6 games each, calm yourselves. RG3 was once rookie of the year.

Right, and Teddy B and Kaep..I get it's too soon but like...I'd rather have either of those guys than Beathard, y'know?

No definitely. But, if we make snap judgments at 6 games you get...RG3 as a Hall of Fame quarterback, and Jared Goff as JaMarcus Russell 2.0.

to be fair, 6 NFL games is A LOT. Like...6 NFL games is the equivalent to about 31 NBA games. That's precisely the number of games Joel Embiid played last year when we dubbed him the next Olajuwon but with a jump shot(so basically the best big man of all time). 6 starts is roughly 4% of a good quarterback's entire career.

rg3 kaep and other idiot all relied on the run or on stressful big plays. they were never good quarterbacks, just went against meta and went against the scheme.

watson im not sure because he could be russel wilson or he could be kaep. he did play exceptionally good ball though with both arm and athleticism, so im excited to see where he goes.

garoppolo is just a straight quarterback. he occasionally sneaks or runs it, but his main focal point is his arm, and hes really fucking good at it. amazingly accurate throws the jaguars game that i thought for sure were picks were put in a small little window to complete a pass. his third down conversion rate is outstanding, and the way he plays the pocket is also good. i'd like to see his release a little higher as he had a tipped ball sunday that resulted in an interception, but it's something to work on.

both have shown to be really good quarterbacks. they just need to prove consistency now.

all i said was for you to educate yourself before you talk shit. the way garoppolo plays quarterback is a lot more than stats.

RG3 led the league in Y/A, had a 102 passer rating and a 65% completion rate his first year in the NFL.

I think you're underestimating how badly his injuries sapped him of his abilities. He was obscenely good even not considering his running before he got injured a million times.

Beathard's stats are also pretty awful in basically every QB related metric. Just because he hasn't been as awful as Kizer doesn't mean he has been serviceable.
