You can muck if you already know you didn't win. Like if Charles and Yoshi don't have you beat, at a real table they could throw their cards in face down and you'd get the pot.

I kind of like the option to muck but it feels like unnecessarily waiting so I dunno what is best. Maybe if you just reveal the winning hand and then losing hands can show after if they want?

I mean, it's not like I've ever played poker at the casino or anything but when I played with friends we all just showed @ the end. I mean I guess I can sorta see the strategy of not showing cards so some players won't know what has/hasn't been played yet but it seems mostly silly to me.

It's more about information about yourself and how you play certain hands. There's no reason to give that info away if you don't have to.

Yeah, online every game is different. One app called pokerist actually doesn't allow you to show losing hands. You only see the winner.

Real games, you can muck any time unless you are all in and the only time you can be forced to show is when both players are waiting for the other to show then I think whoever forced the action shows first. Even then, the second player can muck.

I mean, it's two's game so I can live with whatever he decides, but I really think just showing the winner and leaving the rest up to the players is the way to go and I really don't like the idea of losing hands having to show. Like if I bluff and you call me in a real game, I'm saying "good call" and throwing my cards face down the second I see you have anything at all.

This isn't really on topic but why would you ever want to hide a bluff.

Either you bluff too much. Or you're just flat out harming your opportunities to string people along.

I personally would like two to always reveal my hands if I am in a hand to the end.

The reputation of being the guy who never bluffs lets me get away with it more often.

for what it's worth I'm fine with the 8400 or whatever that number accounts to.

Pretty sure you're fine because we haven't had ten hands yet.

Edit: Also, if we were to allow new players, it makes more sense to take away missed blinds than to do it based on lowest two stacks. If we have a big pot, the people who lose it could be at like 500 and 2000 where after they get knocked out, the lowest remaining could be like 7500 and 8500 so one person could sit and get 1250 and a few hands later someone sits with 8000 and that wouldn't be fair.

Tournaments always let new players in. Last one I played didn't even seat everyone until the 8th blind level. The poker room had 140 seats, we had 169 players, and they had cash tables open leaving about 100 seats for the tournament. People are always coming in late though. Seems like poker players in general can never show up on time lol.

Another way is maybe to just give them average stack between all remaining players. That way any new player joining joins with the same relative strength at any point.

I'd be against this. Average stack is the same as starting until someone gets knocked out. After that, average stack only goes up. Joining late shouldn't be worth extra chips.

I play at bar poker tournaments all the time and they let new players in.

But it just depends on if all players can agree on something. If not, we won't let anymore in.

My bar league always let people in until the end of the second blind level. Depending on the dealer, they got a full stack or had a specific number of chips taken that depended on what level they joined at (our starting stack was 5k. Sit with blinds at 100-200, lose 300. Sit at 200-400, lose 600).
