Mini 579 - The Plagues of Egypt Mafia - Over

Ancient Egypt was a mighty civilization which lasted for more than 3500 years, and which achieved great prosperity and recognised monumentality. However, at some point, it seems the Egyptians constructed their greatness not by their merit, but on the hard work of thousands of Hebrew slaves. (At least that is what the Bible says!)

Now you’ve heard that this Moses guy, a stuck-up Hebrew, is there doing some magic to convince your Pharaoh to let the slaves go. He says he is acting on behalf of his God, and his God is very powerful, and his God can make Egypt suffer, and this and that… Bloody monotheists.

Although you don’t believe that some prestidigitation tricks will persuade the Pharaoh to free the so needed slaves, it is your civic duty to participate in the daily meetings organized by the Pharaoh. The objective of the meetings, where every citizen is taking part, is to find out who, amongst your community, are in fact the filthy Hebrews, and to do away with them as quickly as possible, before their magic turns out to be dangerous…

Every townie has received this standard message:
Townie Role PM wrote: Welcome to Plagues of Egypt Mafia, [player].

[illustration of role]

You are [name], a [job]. You are a simple
townie
, with no special abilities.

You have heard that there are some Hebrews on the loose threatening to attack the Egyptian people, and you have been chosen to be the representative of [job]s in the daily meetings the Pharaoh has organised to fight the menace.

During daytime, you will attend the Pharaoh's meetings to participate in the discussion and cast a vote on who, in your opinion, is against the Egyptians and should not be alive.

Also, you usually eat [type of food] at lunch.

You will win this game when all menaces to the integrity of Egypt have been wiped out.

General Rules:

1. Behave well
2. Do not talk outside of the thread unless your role says you can do it
3. Always follow strictly the rules stated on your role private messages
4. Do not quote role private messages. You may paraphrase them but don't go too far.
Do not show your role-illustrations in the thread either

5. Do not write in excessively small text, or with a lot of colors, or in any other type of hard-to-read text
6. After you are officially dead, you are allowed to write ONE post, as soon as it is not game relevant
7. Talking during twilight is allowed

The moderator's decisions about these rules or about any other subject not contemplated above are supreme. If you break any of these rules, you will be modkilled and will not be able to play any other games I will host.

Also, please warn the moderator if you are going to be away for a long period of time.

Game Rules:

1. Each day phase, players will decide who to lynch by casting votes on that person. Once a majority is reached, the person will be lynched
2. Should a deadline be placed, a majority is no longer required to lynch a person. At the end of the deadline, the person with most votes will be lynched. If there is a tie, nobody will be lynched
3. To cast your vote on JohnPlayer, for example, write
Vote: JohnPlayer
. Always write your votes likewise. Votes out of this format will not be counted, except for those with messed bold tags (which I will correct)
4. You can also vote for a no-lynch day, by simply writing
Vote: No-Lynch

5. If you are unhappy with your vote, annul it by writing
Unvote
- then you can vote whoever you want. Always bold your 'unvotes'. Unbolded 'unvotes' will not be counted, except for those with messed bold tags (which I will correct). If you vote for two or more players at the same time, only the first vote will be counted.
6. Night phases will last a maximum of 4 days:
3 days in which you submit your night choice
(should you have one) plus 1 day for me to prepare the day break. If you have a night choice and don't send it to me within the 3 days, I will consider you have chosen not to use your ability. But remember: you
can
choose not to use your night ability! If that is the case, please send a PM to me saying you won't use your ability, so as to shorten night phases.

Hope you have fun!

Everyone confirmed except SlySly. However, he opened his Role PM, so I guess he's ready too. Anyway, I'm giving him one more day to confirm.

Meanwhile, let's start this.

Edit: He confirmed.

The sound of trampling, roaring and screaming woke up the entire city. The meetings hadn't even started yet but the Egyptian citizens were already facing the wrath of God.

Image

Hundreds of most dreaded wild animals – such as hippopotami, crocodiles, elephants, panthers – appeared from nowhere to sow chaos and death everywhere. The abnormally enraged animals destroyed buildings and smashed people as they went through the city. However, they seemed strangely attracted to one person in particular: kabenon007, who was meant to take part in the meetings that would occur that very day.

Naturally, kabenon007’s efforts to escape the animal fury were in vain. He was mercilessly trampled, squashed and devoured. Not many people saw his death, though, as everyone was running and screaming, trying to avoid the fearsome carnivores, in a hope to save their own lives – they didn’t have much time to care about others.

Some minutes later, the animals went away as quickly as they had come out. The Egyptians tried to figure out who was kabenon007 after all… but there was not much left of his crushed and half-eaten body. The scenario of destruction and death was a terrible sight – the haughty Egyptian city had just suffered the first plague of the Hebrew revenge… and they were quite sure it wouldn’t be the last one.

It was a group of anxious and extremely concerned people that gathered at the first meeting with the objective to fight this cruel menace. With less one person than the expected, as
kabenon007 was dead

The first of the meetings organised by the Pharaoh to fight the Hebrew menace was finally over. It had been a meeting full of heated discussion, solid exchange of ideas, and inflamed debate.

The sun was already setting when the majority of the present people decided Guardian had to be responsible for the disgrace that was falling upon Egypt. Besides being accused of fickleness and falsehood, he was even foolish enough to confess he was a Hebrew.

From one minute to the next, Guardian was taken by the angry citizens to the main square, where he was whipped, then beaten to death, and torn apart.

But suddenly, thousands, millions of lice, gnats, and fleas appeared from nowhere and attacked every single Egyptian person in the streets, biting them everywhere they could. The entire city was panicstruck. People were running like mad, scratching, rubbing, bleeding, with the body full of red bites, desperately trying to find a well of water to assuage the itching and the pain.

Image

Naturally, while suffering this second divine plague, the Egyptians quickly forgot Guardian, leaving his shredded body in the middle of the square, to be eaten by the insects. Nobody ever managed to know who he was, after all.

The day was almost dawning when the cloud of lice and gnats left the Egyptians alone. Weary and half-eaten, with the skin full of wounds, the citizens headed to their houses, hoping to have some sleep after that nightmare.

However, a few hours later, a horrible, nauseating smell invaded the entire city and the nostrils of its inhabitants. Soon they realised that all livestock in the city was dead. Hundreds of decomposing animal carcases provided an uncommon feast for flies and insects. Every cow, every ox, every sheep, every calf – all dead, at the same instant, because of this mysterious disease.

Image

The most sensitive Egyptians had to run away, terrified and sick. There were some of them who were able to hold back the vomit before the disgusting scent and scenario, and who managed to notice the dead herdsmen lying among their cattle. One of them,
SlySly
, had been present in the first of the official meetings to fight the Hebrew menace.

It was not difficult to find out that the herdsman, dead due to this sudden pestilence, was
Thabit
, the representative of
livestock farmers
in the meetings. Naturally, he was a
simple citizen
, worried with the future of Egypt. Well, he doesn’t need to worry about that anymore now, but the truth is that the meetings are not complying with the expected outcome.

There is not much time to cry or clean the mess, though. Ra shows his golden disk once again, and the meetings must continue. The Hebrews must be stopped, lest Egypt falls.

The day seemed endless. For hours and hours, the Egyptian representatives debated, shouted, discussed, yelled, until the sun was almost set. Having realised this, they decided to put an end on the second meeting. They decided that Musher333 should not live anymore.

This decision was not absolutely consensual. Everyone was suspicious of each other, for the most varied reasons. But Musher333 had been quite reserved during the whole day and his interventions were confusing and far from solid. This behaviour was enough to put him under high pressure.

Logic and argumentation didn’t work, so Musher333 had to turn to his last resort – claiming to be a physician. At that moment, the people were divided. Some took a step back, for killing a physician would be the most nonsensical course of action and could seriously compromise the town chances. The others laughed at Musher333 for his fickleness and insecurity while claiming, and for that reason, they stressed their position against him.

Things were not easy. The meeting could not last forever. Musher333 remained silent and calm, showing self-assurance – and confusing his peers even more.

But when the sunlight ceased to enter the meeting room, everyone knew it was time to end the meeting. The majority found Musher333 the person most likely to be helping the Hebrews. The Egyptians seized him, stripped him off, tied him up, dragged him to the bank of the river Nile and finally, under a choir of hooting, he was thrown to the waters. He never emerged again.

Anxiously, the people turn their attention to his clothing, hoping to find something helpful to identify Musher333. Indeed, they found a little leather sack. It had a golden bolt in the shape of a beetle. Probably stolen, many thought.

When the sack was opened, the Egyptians were speechless. Inside there was some medicinal herbs and a roll of parchment. It said “Kamuzu, May the gods guide you in the mission you have been entrusted.” It was signed “The Son of Horus”.

Musher333
, alias
Kamuzu
, was the royal
Physician
.

But the Egyptians didn’t have time to mourn over their loss. Of a sudden, thousands and thousands of frogs and toads inexplicably began to jump out of the river and to cover the entire land – and the people too. The unbearable croaking filled the air and the ears. No one could move without treading or stumbling over the piles of amphibians.

Yet another plague had been struck over the disgraced lands of Egypt.

The frogs returned to their quagmires while dark, ominous clouds invaded the sky. If the Egyptian people thought they had already suffered a big lot, they were quite mistaken, for the worst was yet to come.

Effectively, when the clouds completely covered the last vestiges of blue sky and the last rays of sunlight, the disaster happened. At first, it looked like common hail. But then, the horrified Egyptians realised that they were being fustigated by large fireballs. These inflamed rocks hailed for hours and hours over the lands of Egypt, destroying buildings and killing people, who fell while burning.

When the hail suddenly stopped, the gloomy clouds disappeared and the sun uncovered a most appalling scenario. The whole city was wasted. Those that once were magnificent monuments, or spacious homesteads, or even those humble shanties: almost all turned into smoking debris.

Only the Hebrew quarter managed to escape entirely to this fury, just as it had escaped the other plagues. Maybe their God is actually more powerful than ours?

‘We cannot surrender!’ someone screams. And this person is right. You must go back to your meetings and this time, mistakes are not allowed. Now more than ever, it is important to be wise, keep one’s head and believe that Egypt will prevail.

So the third meeting starts in the open air, but one absence is noted -
strife220
did not attend it. The participants found that he had been mortally hit by one of the fireballs, and that his body burned until it was nothing but ashes. It was impossible to find out what he did or who he was.

The third meeting had barely started when a mysterious obscurity invaded the sky and hid the sun. This time, there was no firestorm, but the plumbeous clouds hid the sun completely. The city was plunged in utter darkness – it was so dark that people couldn’t even see their own hands.

Obviously, there were no conditions to continue the discussion – in fact, there were no conditions to do anything. Wherever the Egyptians tried to go, they would stumble on each other or hit walls. Therefore, the third meeting had to be cancelled, until this new plague was over. Meanwhile, despair took the Egyptians' heart. Could the end be near?

The strange dark clouds began to fade away and Ra was once more able to ostentate his magnificent and resplendent solar disk.

However, the sun was far from bringing new hopes to the Egyptian people, who loved it so much. When the sun rays touched the Egyptians' skin, this one burst open in extremely dolorous pustules and boils. Screaming and crying with pangs, the Egyptians had no choice but to cede to the pain that invaded their body through the open wounds.

Some minutes later, the sores began to heal and the pain eased. Once again, it was time to esteem the damages and victims caused by the plague. Some people were resistant enough to survive it, others fell unconscious for many hours, while there were others who expired at the hands of the cruel disease.

One of them was
SingingLibrarian
, one of the persons who had been regularly attending the royal meetings to stop the Hebrew menace. He was
Mosi
,
son of Habibah
, a respected youngster among the community, known for his honesty and his keen love for his mother. He was a great loss for your side, without any doubt. But the meetings must not stop.

Another day of heated discussion which was leading to nowhere. The shadows were already growing long, and the town had to make a difficult decision. If they failed once more, they would probably be unable to fight the Hebrew menace anymore.

They eventually decided that it would be best if each and everyone of the presents revealed its identity. Naturally, nobody claimed to be a Hebrew... but some of the statements raised suspicions.

At the end of the day, the representatives of Egypt decided that hasdgfas's alibi was the least coherent and believable... and thus, perhaps too hastily, hasdgfas was stabbed to death right there, without possibilities of defense.

Worried with their impetuous attitude, the Egyptians rushed to the house of hasdgfas... and with a mixed sense of relief and joy, they found that staff. That trebly cursed staff which had been responsible for so many deaths and so much suffering.

That would be Egypt's first night of jollity in many days. For they had - finally - found and killed
hasdgfas
, alias
Moses, Hebrew prophet
. But this was far from being the end of the nightmare...

I am very sorry for this delay, but at the current circumstances, it wouldn't be wise to start this game without the replacement for Mr Stoofer.

Meanwhile, strife220 offered himself to be that replacement and I have agreed. I know it is not advisable to let a dead player replace in the same game later, but I was getting desperate, and so were you, I suppose. I know that this fact will most probably interfere with your in-game judgements, but the alternative was to shut the game down, so I hope you all understand the situation.

Without further ado, let's move on to Day 5.

The Egyptians had slept well that night, believing that their dark days were almost over. However, it would seem that the death of Moses did not suffice to put an end to the plagues nightmare.

When they woke up, the appalled Egyptian people saw a cloud of desert locusts taking shape in the sky. Suddenly, the famishing grasshoppers ferociously flown at the Egyptian barley fields. They looked like demoniac insects from the underworld, as they crumbled all the cereal of Egypt in dust.

When they left, a few minutes later, there was nothing to see but yards and yards of razed crops. Their unsatiable hunger was stronger than any other natural disaster Egypt had ever seen. And although this plague didn't cause any demise yet, its consequences will surely be calamitous...

With 3 votes,
Lawrencelot has been lynched!

The fifth meeting was much shorter than the previous ones. Only 5 Egyptians, less than half the people convened to the meetings, were left in the meeting room, and the majority of those was quite sure about their next play.

The Egyptians found that Lawrencelot was faking his identity, and for them, that was enough to conclude he was one of the threatening Hebrews. Thus, Lawrencelot was not given many chances to defend himself against such affront. He was maimed and killed in the middle of the town's main square, for everyone, Egyptian fellowman and Hebrew slave, to see.

One of those observers arrived a little bit late, but he immediately recognised the quartered body. The observer was the foreman of the kingdom barleyfields, the dead body was
Tsekani
, a poor
barley farmer
, a
simple townie
. Had the foreman arrived earlier to the execution, the death of another good Egyptianman could have been avoided. But yet again, the daily meeting ended up in failure. Will Egypt be able to resist much more?

Lawrencelot's public execution was a failure. The Egyptians began to disperse, unhappy with the outcome of the situation.

stark was one of the first people to leave the scene and he was the most discontented too. The Pharaoh had trust him an important information-gathering mission, and the results had not been good so far. Plus, he hadn't eaten anything that day, as his daily cereal supply was cancelled due to the recent locusts invasion. He was feeling week and giddy. And, suddenly, he fainted.

It was already night when a wanderer found
stark
lying on the floor, already dead of hunger. A fragment of papyrus parchment in his cloak revealed that he was, indeed,
Akil
,
Royal Spy
(
tracker
).

But that was just the beginning of a horrid night. All of a sudden, inexplicably, every single firstborn child of every Egyptian home died. They didn't die of disease, or of hunger. Life just left them. As it left the Pharaoh's firstborn too, his only child and heir to the Egyptian throne.

Such atrocious and heinous event perturbed
lord_hur
- that is,
Habibah
, who had recently lost her son, Mosi - even more. Her son had died the most painful death, when the boils plague stalked the city. The mournful mother felt incapable of continuing to give a good contribution to the meetings.

And so, only two persons were left.
Aaron
(
strife220
) stared the grieved
Pharaoh
(
HackerHuck
). He had been weeping all night for the loss of his most beloved son. And Aaron knew the Pharaoh's heart would not steel again.

Image

'Go away' he wailed.

Aaron nodded and walked away, leaving the disgraced king alone, embracing the dead body of his son in his arms. He gathered all the slaves, who could not believe they were free. Thousands of slaves left the decayed Egyptian city and its ill-fated inhabitants that miraculous day.

The Hebrews prayed, celebrated and thanked God for their freedom. Aaron was their leader, and he was content, for God's will had been fulfilled, and his brother's demise had not been in vain. Now the chosen people of God was heading to the Promised Land, where they would eventually find a well-deserved peace.

Evolution of the Setup

If you are a curious person, you can see the various stages the setup went through here

ROLE PMs

Welcome to Plagues of Egypt Mafia, hasdgfas.
Image
You are
Moses
and your task is to persuade the Pharaoh to free your people, the Hebrew slaves. For that purpose, I, the all-mighty
G
Mod, will use you to strike the lands of Egypt with the most devastating plagues.
Each night and each day (depending on the case), you may choose to use one of the following plagues:

[mrow]Nr.[col]Name[col]Effect[col]Used during 1[col]Water turned to blood[col]Kills 1 random fish-eater townie the next night[col]Night2[col]Frogs[col]Roleblocks the town the next night[col]Day 3[col]Lice[col]The role/alignment of the player lynched the day the plague is used is not revealed[col]Day 4[col]Wild animals[col]Kills 1 townie at choice; his role/alignment are not revealed to town at daybreak (but are revealed privately to you)[col]Night 5[col]Pestilence[col]Kills 2 specific townies[col]Night 6[col]Unhealable boils[col]Kills 1 townie at choice and roleblocks another one at choice[col]Night 7[col]Fiery hail[col]Kills 1 random townie; his role/alignment are not revealed to town at daybreak (but are revealed privately to you)[col]Night 8[col]Locusts[col]Kills 1 random cereal-eater townie the next night[col]Night 9[col]Darkness[col]Starts next night phase[col]Day 10[col]Death of the first-borns[col]Kills 1 specific townie and affects another one[col]Night

Once you use one plague, you won't be able to use it again, so choose carefully.

Do not be afraid to use them, though. Trust me, but more importantly, trust yourself. If you do as I have told you, you will be able to free our people and punish the Pharaoh’s prepotency.

Your brother, Aaron, will help you. He will be your spokesman and, should anything happen to you, I will pass the power of unleashing plagues on to him. You can talk to him privately during night phases.

You will win the game if you and/or your brother Aaron survive to the end.

A little side note: if you ever need to fake your identity, you should say your name is Nkozi and that you are a scribe, a merchant, an architect, or a jeweller. You may also mention you eat cereals. Refer to the publicly known Townie PM to forge a convincing fakeclaim. (Naturally, you can choose to claim any other thing you want)

Welcome to Plagues of Egypt Mafia, strife220/Mr Stoofer.

Image

You are
Aaron
, brother of Moses (hasdgfas). You are a slave and you work for the Egyptians, just like all your Hebrew peers. However, Moses was able to escape to the mountains and avoid a life of hard work. Now he has returned, and he says God, the only Lord of all Hebrews, has spoken to him. He says God has sent him to convince the Pharaoh to free the Hebrew slaves, and will use him to unleash the most deadly plagues over Egypt. And he says God has told him that you, Aaron, should be his spokesman to the people.

You will do as God commanded, and you will help your brother Moses in his task to perform the godly plagues and to persuade the Pharaoh to release your peers. For this purpose, you can talk to him privately during night phases.

Let's hope Moses doesn't die, but should that day come, God will pass the power of unleashing plagues on to you.

You will win the game if you and/or your brother Moses survive to the end.

A little side note: if you ever need to fake your identity, you should say your name is Sudi and that you are a scribe, a merchant, an architect, or a jeweller. You may also mention you eat fish. Refer to the publicly known Townie PM to forge a convincing fakeclaim. (Naturally, you can choose to claim any other thing you want)

Welcome to Plagues of Egypt Mafia, HackerHuck.

You are the mighty and divine
Pharaoh, governor of Egypt
. You are the incarnation of Horus on the land of mortals, and you are the protector of all your subjects. Except for the thousands of Hebrew slaves you use to construct your greatness, of course.

Now it seems that Moses, your missing Hebrew foster-brother, has returned to persuade you to free the slaves. Naturally, you laughed, and then you refused, but then he said his Lord would give him the power to threaten the Egypt with the most deadly plagues... You'd better make sure your hundreds of gods are more worthy than his only one!

Anyway, to avoid more desperate diseases (literally!), you have decided to summon representatives of every social layer and professional activity to daily meetings, where all together will try to decide the best course of action.

Of course, as the ruler of all Egypt, you have decision power over the outcome of the meetings. Therefore, right after someone has collected all necessary votes to be lynched (that is, within the commonly called 'twilight' period), you will send a message to the moderator, stating if you want that lynch to happen or not.

Also, during lunchtime, your servants will prepare you a feast of fish, cereal and figs. You must eat several types of food in order to keep mentally and physically sane.

You will win this game when all menaces to the integrity of Egypt have been wiped out.
Welcome to Plagues of Egypt Mafia, stark/springlullaby/Pyrodwarf.

Image

You are Akil, a skilful
Spy
. The Pharaoh has entrusted you the mission of trying to find out who are in fact the most dangerous Hebrews, those who are now threatening to destroy the whole kingdom of Egypt.

Each night, you may choose a person to spy, sending a message to the moderator with the name of that person. You will then know if he/she went out into the cold streets that night and who did he/she paid a visit to.

During daytime, you will attend the Pharaoh's meetings to participate in the discussion and cast a vote on who, in your opinion, is against the Egyptians and should not be alive.

Also, you usually eat cereals at lunch.

You will win this game when all menaces to the integrity of Egypt have been wiped out.

Welcome to Plagues of Egypt Mafia, Musher333.

Image

You are Kamuzu, the royal palace
Physician
. Now that the Hebrews are threatening to attack the people of Egypt, the Pharaoh has entrusted you the mission of protect it using your experience and medicine.

Each night, you may choose a person to protect, sending a message to the moderator with the name of that person. Should that person be targeted by a curable disaster, he/she will not die thanks to your assistance.

During daytime, you will attend the Pharaoh's meetings to participate in the discussion and cast a vote on who, in your opinion, is against the Egyptians and should not be alive.

Also, you usually eat fish at lunch.

You will win this game when all menaces to the integrity of Egypt have been wiped out.

Welcome to Plagues of Egypt Mafia, Singing Librarian.

Image

You are Mosi, son of Habibah (lord_hur). Your father has died when you were young, and since you were a little child, you have worked hard to help and look after your mother, Habibah. In return, your mother has educated you with all her wisdom and all her love.

You two are effectively very close. And now that you've heard there are some Hebrews threatening the Egyptians, you have sworn that you would protect each other until death, as
you know your mother is innocent, and your mother knows you are innocent
.

During daytime, you two will attend the Pharaoh's meetings to participate in the discussion and cast a vote on who, in your opinion, is against the Egyptians and should not be alive.

During the night, while returning to your home, you may send messages to each other and talk about everything you want.

Also, you usually eat figs at lunch.

You will win this game when all menaces to the integrity of Egypt have been wiped out.
Welcome to Plagues of Egypt Mafia, lord_hur.

You are Habibah, mother of Mosi (Singing Librarian). Your husband has died when Mosi was still a little child, and since then, he works hard to look after you. He has never let you down. He is the most precious son, and you could not love him more.

You two are effectively very close. And now that you've heard there are some Hebrews threatening the Egyptians, you have sworn that you would protect each other until death, as
you know your son is innocent, and your son knows you are innocent

You are Salih, an artisan. You are a simple
townie
, with no special abilities.

You have heard that there are some Hebrews on the loose threatening to attack the Egyptian people. This is bad news for a common Egyptian, but for you, it's even worse! The fact is that you are of Hebrew origin, so if you are caught by the Egyptians, they will kill you for being a Hebrew, and if you are caught by the Hebrews, they will kill you for taking the side of Egypt!

It would be much better if you could just get out of the town and disappear for good, but unfortunately, you have been chosen to be the representative of artisans in the daily meetings the Pharaoh has organised to fight the menace.

Therefore, during daytime, you will attend the Pharaoh's meetings to participate in the discussion and cast a vote on who, in your opinion, is against the Egyptians and should not be alive.

Also, you usually eat figs at lunch.

You will win this game when all menaces to the integrity of Egypt have been wiped out.

MY COMMENTARY

I think this was a very difficult game both for scum and for town, as most of the plays were purely based on luck and it allowed for very few mistakes.

It was difficult for scum, because they didn't know much about the full effect of the plagues, some of which were random, and they couldn't choose who to kill every night.

It was difficult for town, because some of the dead players' roles were not revealed, and they had to deal with the uncommon and unknown plagues (rather than regular night deaths).

However, I think both sides did a remarkable job, although committing some mistakes. Eventually the scum side was the most fortunate, but that wasn't clear until the very end of the game, and I guess that's positive.

Stark was right. I never thought that someone would do a research on Egyptian names and break the names "code". I admit I was ingenuous, and I am sorry for that.

The town thought they would win easily for having broken the "code". So what went wrong? Answer: there was no code. When I looked for Egyptian names, after setting the roles up, I noticed that some of them had a meaning that would fit the roles I was using. So I decided to use those in some of the roles, informally. That means I didn't worry to match names and jobs for all roles, as names were supposed to be nothing more than flavour. I didn't find any fitting name for Lawrencelot's role (barley farmer), so I've just picked a random one.

Overall, and forgetting the replacement issues which are always present, I think this was a good game. I apologise for some negligence now and then, and again for the careless role-name picking. I hope you've enjoyed the game and am looking forward to hearing your comments.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

First of all, I must thank Ether one thousand times for her willingness and patience in reviewing my setup. Without her vital help, this game would be even more ill-balanced than the Illustrated Mafia, or more probably, it would have never come out. So thank you very very much again, Ether.

Thanks Iammars, too. He also gave me some tips on the setup but, unfortunately, he left mafiascum and I could not develop his suggestions.

Last but not the least, thank you so much, players, and especially replacements, for never quitting your enthusiasm, despite all the issues and problems, and for having constructed this game with me. Thank you!

I'm not positive how I won. The first-born plague stopped Hur from being able to vote, making the end game effectively me vs huck for voting, thus a scum win?
That's right. It was impossible for town to lynch you, so you won (as scum :P).
