welp, I think I'll give this game a couple more days, but I think I'm just gonna get my money back.

idk man. this game is kinda dumb. I quit playing CoD when it got dumb. This game seems to have started dumb. IDK what Favour the Shooter is. But I doubt that's why no one takes damage in this game. Just got 21 kills. Still felt like I wasn't doing any damage and didn't help the team win.
mmmm. I was on the number 1 ranked CoD4 and MW2 teams. I'm like..legit great at FPS games. These interactions seem legitmately unfair and unfun. In post 361, Psyche wrote:its called a learning curveLast edited by PJ. on Thu Jul 07, 2016 9:54 am, edited 1 time in total.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

I'm hitting though. I see it hit like crazy. The bullets just don't do any damage. I'm playing D.Va. Will tee off on torbjun or bastion for like...10 seconds without any response. then I die to either turret damage or bastion shooting me 3 times. In post 364, Bins wrote:Favour the Shooter means the latency is favoured towards the Shooter. Therefore, some projectiles will register as hitting you even though you don't see it hit you because latency. The Shooter sees it hit you.
The fact you aren't hitting anything is just cause you're new and learning curve.
Just got number 1 in kills and damage. Wasn't even available for MVP vote.
KOTH is fun. The attack defend games are not fun.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

Yeah, my Koth games are already fine. The defend/attack and the Bastion sits on tank game modes are not great.
Edit: I think I got relegated to the bad players lane after my first two games because there are no more torbjun's. And in the no Tordjun games, I am basically a walking 10+ killstreak. Does D.va have a range issue? Is there a girl like D.va that does more long range damage but still not a girl with 100 hp?Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

Use shield. When they run out of bullets, or you can use something as cover, use dash. Then rock em. When ult is up, either flank a group or just use the shield-dash switch and trigger it and get as far away as possible. If it nets a kill, you get your robot back. If you are about to die with ult up, might as well trigger it because you get the robot back if it nets anything.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

Well leveling to get into competitive is standard practice. And because you get XP every game, it's just a time release. It really doesn't matter how you are playing in these games. Just that you're playing them. +, i'm like..already level 7 I think, and I've got about an hour of in-game time.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

Who is? All the rest seem to have incredible flaws.
Mcree can't kill anyone unless he is on top of them and his gun has 6 bullets and is semi-auto. His ult doesn't actually kill anyone. and he can't use his mobility move until after he has used all his bullets because he can't kill most people with only 6 bullets.
Genju is increcibly squishy, his weapon is crazy hard to hit anything with and can't really take down the tanks. and his dash move and ult put him in harms way and he's too squshy to handle that. even with the reflect.
Reaper is decent
Tracer has a bad ult, and her mobility doesn't really help her get kills because her weapon is kinda shitty.
Pharoah is p good but not as good as 76.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

I think 3 seconds on d.VA ult is the sweet spot. It's not an overly long zone control and it's not an autokill. In post 469, PokerFace wrote:Also last night I used Dva on dorado once, using he jets to boost over the wall and onto the payload. Killed the enemy pharah and junkrat who didn't turn around. The enemy Reaper and lucio did turnaround so I used my ult. They had to run away while I was able to stay and cap it for the win. Had the mechs fuse been at 4 seconds it would have been even easier for me. Surviving the explosion and denying the enemy's ability to enter an area for 4 seconds may be too powerful so perhaps the 3 seconds is best for now
The enemy reinhart and mei were further away walling off my team so I did not need to kill them. They didn't realize I was there and got real salty in the chat, I told the mei to just "let it go"... I will walk away nowLast edited by PJ. on Tue Jul 26, 2016 2:24 pm, edited 1 time in total.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

If League of Legends rank system is any indicator, duoing your placements is only gonna put you in a less likely scenario to win. I would recommend playing them solo.
Edit: And I'm pretty sure that while it will help your initial rank, I'm sure your placement won't be nearly as high as you would expect from the games you'd be playing in, even if you win all 10. By your 10th game, you'll probably being playing against rank 70s, but the placement might still cap you at 60 or something. On top of that, your post placement games are volatile and are going to try to move you closer to the mean. I've heard a lot of stuff where you'll lose far more points for an l than a W. I'm mostly specualting from other games, but I think the cons far outweigh the pros of partnering up in your placements(i'd even expect that to be true of partnering up in ranked play at all).Last edited by PJ. on Wed Jul 27, 2016 12:16 pm, edited 1 time in total.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

I had to research a bunch because I'm not even high enough level to play competitive, but isn't rank ridiculously volatile in OW? like 50 is average. but 57 is actually tremendously good and 43 is tremendously bad? Like if you go by LoL percentages 56 would be considered Gold. and 46 would be considered bronze. So just 2-3 ranks is actually a big deal. 3 ranks can be a 15 percentile points difference toward the middle of the bell curve.
Also to quantify what Hito was saying. If you take exactly what he said X, x-3, x-10, x+10, x+3 into a game, and make X=50(40 47 50 53 60), you'll a have a player in the bottom 8% of all players, a player in the bottom 29%, a player hovering around the 50% mark, a player in the top 43%, and your rank 60 will be in the top 17%. There's no matchmaking in the world that's gonna fix that man. the two players that are just absolutely abysmal are gonna negate any and all advantage you get from the guy that is pretty good and the two average players MIGHT be over their head too, because matchmaking will have no idea how to handle that.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

The change hasn't been reverted, it was just tuned down. The effective range is still longer than it was.In post 497, Clumsy wrote:Couple changes incoming/have hit (not sure which). I lost my first competitive match. First half I played D.VA had gold in everything and almost carried. Second half, we almost held but someone stole D.VA so I was on Lucio. I blame whoever took me off d.vs. I was still gold in obj, elIms, and obj elims. And got silver or gold in healing. I feel my team was p good thoughLast edited by PJ. on Thu Aug 04, 2016 3:12 pm, edited 1 time in total.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

I'm currently 2-4 in placements. but 1 was a leave and they said it was all good and it wouldn't hurt me. He rejoined right before I left though(but it was waaaay after timer went off(so I'm not sure if i got rank adjusted or not, it def counted as a loss like it said tho)Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

I don't think i understand how to win a game. I get gold and silver medals in across all categories(except healing) in every game I play and I still lose basically all of them. It doesn't seem to matter what I play. I try to fill up the little tags on the side, but I basically lose no matter what. 2-6. I'm starting to be in worst player in the world territory.
2-7
3-8 so far in ranked. How do I translate gold medals into victory? What am I not grasping. I can't seem to turn play that feels good enough to beat the very worst, into an actual victory over the very worst.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

Is this game really that hard to solo? Or am I just an idiot? Because the game seems to be telling me I'm consistently the best player on my team but also the worst player in the world.
Edit: which is fine. I could totally be the worst player in the world, because I'm really not sure how to convert games to wins. Not even a little.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

idk man.. I'm in only fucko territory. Like I'm so low ranked, it's like.. not even worth being mad about losing. I just kinda don't care. At this point my rank is so low, that as long as no one tells me fuck you, I just am happy to lose quietly, because winning honestly doesn't seem to be an option. In post 528, Flameaxe wrote:I gotta get in some qm play to remember wtf I'm doing, but I wouldn't mind partying up. Fake news. Hitbox controllers are not banned from any real fighting game tournaments and they have SOCD cleaner chips in them. Keyboards in general are not banned, some dude played SFV with one at Evo last year.
Also you could do the same thing with a PS360+, which is also not banned.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich.- PJ.

Melee, but melee is not a fighting game so who cares. Only reason they didn't like it was because they said it made wavedashing easier(very slightly) and it provided comfort that someone using a shitty GC control didn't have (multiple people have retired from Smaah due to chronic hand pain), so one tournament was considering banning anything that wasn't a GameCube controller. But again, not relevant cause smash isn't a fighting game so who cares. In post 1155, PokerFace wrote:I don't think any game has banned. I seemed to recall a couple tournaments not liking it a long time back.
That chip is news to me. I don't believe they always had that. If that chip stops the old issues, then that's cool.Sometimes a sandwich is just a sandwich. - PJ.
