I believe it was because once you submitted the final image of your screen the timer stopped (and to think I had to rush after finishing and almost just kept it and then would've submitted it when I came back ._.)

I have a feeling that the puzzle timer was slightly slower than real time...

No, he counted the time between your start and end in the google doc.

I know, but it seemed to add much more time than I would expect simply from that. Plus, I got an extra minute or so added, but Richard got 15... I severely doubt that RGHP didn't understand the submission system and took that long to upload an image.

Nah. I only had about a minute added to my time, which seems about right.

Thanks.

I felt the same way: my actual puzzle score was 36:55, but somehow I got 46: something. Oh well: I did have problems with my Internet.

I did have some trouble getting the screencap to an uploadable state—I tried to put it an a Word document that already had text in it, and I couldn't save it, so I had to open a new document. I wouldn't have thought that that would be fifteen minutes' work, though.

I am going to rage if every challenge hereafter is 1/100 the difficulty. I am NOT good at jigsaw puzzles.

You couldn't just paste it in a decent graphics editor?

Also, not that it mattered, but the computer I was using at the time automatically gave the option to save the screenshot as a PNG, which was nice.

I'm not really savvy with that kind of thing. Now it occurs to me that I could have done it in PowerPoint, where I save images all the time for Wheel of Fortune. :P

There's a small Windows utility called Snipping Tool that takes a screenshot of any part of your screen and automatically saves it, FYI.

Oh, speaking of which: the next challenge will require minor image editing abilities. Paint will work fine.

Explain to me how 12 minutes was added to my time please. Because quite frankly it's bullshit.

FYI to all: A helpful way to get images is to take them on an external device (for example a smartphone), email them to yourself, put them into imgur or a similar website, then give in the link. I do this because the Print Screen on my computer does not work.

I generally do this unless I'm being timed. In which case I'll use Printscreen & Paint.

Announcement for players
: In the future, if you encounter issues with challenges such as the internet shitting out on you, things not loading properly or a 50-foot tall dinosaur attacking your house, please be sure to inform me prior to the results. This is generally good practice, but I thought I'd remind some of you.

I kind of like the whitespace, it forces people to scroll through the results instead of just opening the last one to see who got eliminated.
