Crap. Oh well, maybe Gandalf was scum?

Some method of finding out the flakers alignment would change the play a bit.

That's actually a scumtell. Scum disproportionately volunteer for secretarial duties, or anything where they can 'Appear helpful' without actually putting themselves or their buddies in jeopardy.

In my defense, I tend to do it regardless of alignment. =P

(In this particular case, I also did it because I saw a line of mislynches occurring, and wanted to prep with evidence for people who were on them.)

Watching the replacement mechanic was fairly cool. I thought it was 2 to 1 in terms of town/scum getting replaced, but without the flips and the original post i doubt my guess was correct.

I called it as Peregrine, Zajnet, NS as scum in my PM.

Forgot about Magua but I def pegged him as scum over the Peg thing. Which improves the chance of Fate being scum also.

Overall I scumhunted like crap, certainly because I was so defensive. But I just couldn't believe town could still doubt I was town after taking that much RP while being insensate.

Not exactly.

The Demiurge
Role:
You are the
Demiurge
, a direct avatar of God's limitless energies. You represent the creative and generative forces, and oppose the violence and destruction this War has wrought.

Win Condition:
You stand outside of the conflict itself, and wish more than anything else to see an end to strife. You win if either side can prevail over the other, and you are still alive to witness it and carry the news back to God
(that's right, you're a
Survivor
 )
.

Powers:
  • You begin the game with 16 HP.
  • You may still choose to Hurt or Heal players in thread, as can all other roles. The tags
    HURT:
    and
    HEAL:
may be used in place of
    VOTE:
for this game, or you can just bold them as usual.
  • You may instead choose to focus on
    enabling
someone to strengthen their role. PM me their name and tell me whether you wish to increase their
    maximum/current
HP by 1, or decrease their current recharge time by 12 hours. This ability recharges after 24 hours, same as Hurting or Healing, and you may not do both in the same 24 hours.
You may not target yourself, and you may not target the same player twice unless all currently active players have been Enabled, Hurt, or Healed by you at least once. If you make it all the way through the list, your own maximum/current HP will increase by 2, and the list starts over for you. I will provide you with the state of your current list at any time by request, of course
The problem, of course, is that I calibrated his role power with a 5-10 week game in mind. When it stretched out to months on months, he was able to get through the entire playerlist almost 4 times by the time we stopped. So the recalibrating modnote was that he got a warning about his energy waning after having given 50 HP increases, and would have 'run out' at 72. He still would have been able to shorten cooldowns, but... overall the role became even more of a pain than I expected (for reasons I'll explain when I get to the scumteam).
Retired as of October 2014.

NS claim never made sense from a townie... survivor meh, he prob coulda just claimed that and no town would kill him as the +hp benefits town more than scum it limits who they can rp kill. Its interesting because he would probably have been lynched ... eventually with the claim he did make.

Shame about the game, Flay. I do want to give you some spectacular praise for the scope and deftness at which you handled this complicated game.

Disappointed with the game ending, but my motivation for continuing along with the crash were extremely low.
I was away from MS since the last WiH game I think, and only came back having seen Flays email as I per-inned.

I was quite obviously town btw.
And wanted town to win this game so bad after what went before.

Zaj had to be scum!!!

Scum could have easily won this game... if we all didn't flake out and get replaced... and was able to coordinate attacks. I believe Magua was the last original scum left in the game.

I still stand by what I said. The whole stalling of the game really doomed everyone. It made everyone lethargic, and more prone to replacing out as a whole. Also, town kept referring to the last game as a source of how the scum work. That was a very bad idea, but scum couldn't really say it without looking like they have extra information.

Also, I thought PV would be an easy mislynch (wasn't posting much, etc.), but for some reason everyone really ignored him.

I still don't know why you all lynched me for posting once a day avg. I can see the fact that I didn't hurt/heal early was a good point, but the fact that it was pushed that I was scum lurking even though I was posting daily was bad. I was posting plenty, enough that I was the first "lurker" lynched even though there were a few others who posted way less than I did, because I was actually posting enough to get attention.

NS's role really screwed mafia. Even though it kinda helped (don't know if flay wants to expand on that mechanic or not), it hurt way more.

Scum were Andrius (Seraph), Amrun (Cherub), animorpherv1 (Seraph), Battousai (Ophan), DonJosh (Cherub), Fate (Arel), gandalf5166 (Seraph), LLD (Cherub), Magua (Seraph), Otolia (Arel), and zoraster (Cherub). But as mentioned, there were never more than about six alive at once, and usually only 3 or 4 active. That made controlling the narrative or even just gaining Rage very difficult on the team.

Gandalf flaked AS SCUM WITH EXTRA KILLING POWER?

Jeez. I guess he must really have expected a random hurting lolfest and got pissed off with attempts to turn it into essentially a normal mafia game.

Wow, it's a good thing they flaked. I know I was focusing my attention on the starting players (whom were all town it seems), and not much on the replacements, since I couldn't see scum disappearing. I think I remember Zoraster and Otolia getting heat early on, but once they vanished I know I kind of let it go.
