Mini 679 - BSG: The Basestar (Game Over!)

Full summary of role PM: I'm Kara Thrace, a Colonial. I woke up on this basestar with no idea of who anybody else actually is and no idea what to do... except for my visions. I painted what I remembered of the visions (to assist with memory) then tried to help everyone out as best I can. If I'm concentrating enough on a player, I may be able to recognize them as a dangerous person (I have to take a second look at the paintings to double check, hence the receive results at night).

I am one of the Five.
I am Samuel Anders, which I breadcrumbed with my first post.
I AM affiliated with the fleet. I received no indication that I was into "unification". My place is with the Fleet.
I am a Jailkeeper, though that wasn't what my PM called it. That is I roleblock and protect.

Quoting both claims for everyone's convenience.

There is nothing in camn's claim that makes it more accurately resemble my role than there is in Tar's.

And it is unthinkable to me that Tar's claimed character, Starbuck, has a different affiliation to me or camn. I can't remember what he said when Kison claimed, but I don't think he claimed affiliation either. From memory, everyone who is town has claimed affiliation when they claimed.

Also, please note how Tar manages to claim a "major character" to avoid being lynched but also in a way that guarantees he can fake non-sanity later. That is, claim a guilty/positive and then go OH I MUST NOT BE SANE, SORRY GUYS after he's killed off the people who are suspicious of him.

Also, the way Tar pushes back at me and accuses me of trying to get him modkilled / trying to cheat via the wording of his PM instead of answering the question. Because he can't.

Despite the dangerous result, I really can't see Elmo as scum here. I think the links to the other scum players, Kison's claim, and pretty much everything else point to Kison being scum and Elmo being town.

Okay, that's interesting Iam. I actually misremembered what camn said, that may not be quite right. It makes me wonder, actually, we're probably going to massclaim, and Des would avoid anything that would confirm people.

Can I ask that we don't talk about this more until I can PM Des about what specifically I can say?

The hilarious thing is that we could no lynch and Iam could keep investigating me at this point. If I'm scum, I can't kill anyone without clearing Kison and guaranteeing my own lynch.

But I'd have to investigate you an infinite number of times to get a reliable result. I don't think I can be bothered to wait that long to possibly improve a town win with three dead townies to a town win with two dead townies.

This is a pretty compelling argument, though. If there was an investigation immune scum, I could just about buy this happening, but since I doubt either of Macavity or Rishi were one of those, I'm gonna have to say no to that one.

I've realized my level of fuckedness ever since Camn claimed. Hell, prior to that, I was only viewing victory as

conceivably

possible. I tried to make it fun and interesting, but I figured that claiming non dangerous would get stale after yesterday.

So I bid you all farewell. I only wanted peace and love, but the only way to achieve this was through vicious murder. Please try to understand my position.

Not exactly.

I had read the game up and had spent a good thirty minutes writing my initial roleclaim when I came into the game. The knowledge of being a gunsmith was solidified in my brain. But when I went back to reread to provide analysis, I just did what I normally do and placed my vote, not realizing Rishi was so close to being lynched. I was telling the truth about skimming those last few pages.

It's amazing that just about every role(that we know of) did something to damage the scum.

Knight of Cydonia was responsible for MacavityLock's demise.
Farkshinsoup blocked Rishi, who sent in our first kill.
Iamausername wound up outing Camn, which was beneficial because...
Camn was blocking me the entire game, and the knowledge of this nailed my coffin shut.

Kison, what was your actual role? Were you a Daytime Rolecop or something?

I was Father Cavil of the Cylon Mafia.

We had fakeclaims, which we used. The only special ability I had you are probably well aware of. That was the sleeper agent kill. I didn't know who the sleeper agent was, I only knew they were a cylon, and that if I sent the daykill in and they were the target, that nothing would happen.

I decided to use it on Farkshinsoup because his roleblocking was another means of investigation, which meant either I killed someone and cleared his target, or I chose not to kill but continued iterating through my list of investigations. Little did I know it would have been better used on Camn, though.

That was a dynamite fake-claim, though.

I haven't played a lot of THEME games.. and never one with Mod-supplied fakeclaims.... so I think I was more impressed with its authenticity than I should have been.
