there are three groups of players: Nobles, Power Brokers, and Court Officials.

Nobles have 2nd in commands that perform actions, personal guards that are like BPS, and can rally armies to take over castles (each noble starts with one castle that is a "location"

Power Brokers have spie networks that can kidnap or kill (not if they have guards - hits second in command if there is one) and a shared PT.

Court Officials are investigative (This is no flip) so they are super useful but also super vulnerable HOWEVER they get their reports privately. they can't move out of town so they are vulnerable always. (to kill you have to correctly predict where someone will be and everyone except court officials can move every night...kinda). also the nobles can redistribute the CO powers though "coup".

that's the important mechanics.

politics wise Auro wants to leash all the pigs and run a coup to consolidate power and supposedly "democratically" use it. he had a couple interested followers but it didn't happen

I suggested that the power brokers seize control through coordinated spy-network kills but it requires some allies from nobles etc so that's not going anywhere.

YESTERDAY all the PBs seconds were arrested except me (that's what I understand) uhhhh today I haven't really kept track of announced actions.

we failed to Lynch anyone yesterday and KMD was night killed. there are somewhere between 3-4 actions that were submitted but only 1 or 2 are going to happen as I understand it...

in general theres Auro, Nero, Myself, LQ, Rubicon, and Fire who are somewhat active the rest are fairly lurking or absent. I think you are the 3rd or 4th replacement.

I think it’s pretty unsympathetic to people’s realities and can lead to exclusivity in the long run. There was a thread called “bad at mafia is bad for mafia” that I can’t find right now but iirc it made some good points along these lines. The blacklist is fairly replaced by WOTC I think, and I also don’t think replacements are as bad as they used to be (or as bad as I remember them maybe). And overall, mod kills are worse than replacements on hame integrity I think.

Mechanically for me specifically? Or for someone in a particular role? It's kinda hard to detail in either case with mechanics this complicated. I think it could be helpful to think this through from a more general point of view but here's a quick take.

I'll summarize the relevant mechanics, since this was a mechanics based question.
Nobles can kill in their own castle and can be killed if their second is jailed or if they are in someone else's castle. (or by scum)
PB's can kill anyone by correctly guessing where they will be when the action resolves. They can be killed if in a noble's castle, if their location can be guessed, or by scum.
I don't know if scum have to know someone's location
CO's can't travel so their location is always known. They represent a risk to scum both by investigation and by enabling vigs by jailing seconds.

It should be fairly obvious that killing Fire/Ari last "night" would be a bad move for scum!me because I could have scumkilled someone else and then noble killed Fire/Ari if he didn't move. Surface level a PB makes the most sense to kill because the assassination vig is a serious threat to scum. A CO kill paradoxically reduces scum's future access (via coup) to CO actions that are beneficial to scum.

That last line seems like a great reason why votato is still alive.

He started a neighborhood with me right after replacing in. I lied to him saying I detected he's part of another PT too, and asked him to confirm or deny. Instead of directly denying it, Tipsy surfed the OP rules and was wondering how I had such an ability that's not present in the OP. After I asked him to explicitly deny, he then figured I might be reaction testing him.

I think it's somewhat scummy to react by looking at whether such a detection is possible in the rules over just saying "No" immediately. From a scum PoV I could have been talking about his scum PT as the one I detected so he'd have to think of some explanation or at least verify first if it was possible.

The lack of a CO NK is also fishy! I think this could actually mean
