The way I understand from reading a few games, the game often begins with random accusations, just to trigger a debate. The more people debate, and the more pressure is exerted during those debates, the more information for the town. Information is something the town needs if it is to lynch the mafia. That's also why we shouldn't make quick lynches.

Yeh, random voting is pretty much standard around here.

Doesn't mean you have to though ;)

We could.

Ther've been a couple instances of "They lived happily ever after".

However, the mod tends to get annoyed. (See, Cow, I remembered you don't like swearing in your games!! :D)

It also raises the question "Why the hell did you join?".

You know, the only real reason I called you Cow was because of your avatar. I know that's not where it came from for you, I saw your sig...but it did for me.

I'm totally going to refer to you as Jiggly from now on! :P

Oh?

They why ask "Why can't we all get along"?

That's a backtracking scum if I ever saw it.

You better have a good explanation.

I actually think that's what he ment in the 1st place, because he spoke about senseless acts of accusation, the moment you do have suspisions(is that how u spell it?) then it's allright to vote or point a Fos, just that he probably thinks there are other ways to open up a conversation(btw, I still don't see how random voting does that)...

Nor do I...It just kinda happens, you know. The game kinda drifts into seriousness.

I don't think random voting is necessary for it, but something definately has to start discussion somwhere down the line or there is no game.

Unvote.

Also,
UnFoS.

Xtoxm, care to explain what you've got against living happily ever after? Sounds like violence-loving scum talk to me!

What's wrong with having the desire to kill people?

Wrong. =D An FoS is just a good way of showing where your suspicions are going without actually voting. The way I see it, it's kind of like a preamble to a vote. And in the Random Voting Stage, or RVS, it's okay to just vote instead of FoSing.

But at the same time, I've seen people get into a lot of trouble early one for not participating in the RVS. Some players might take it as taking the path of least resistance or something of the sort.

Xtoxm, do you consider that little tiny statement backtracking seriously or was that a joke?

Isn't that kind of what I said? That a FoS doesn't really mean anything? The caveat was because I've seen a few setups for bastard mod games where casting a FoS actually had a real effect.

Well, no. An FoS doesn't have to cast a vote to have meaning.

An FoS can show where you suspicions lie and can be used to apply pressure if you aren't willing to vote or change your vote for that person. They do have meaning, even if they don't cast votes. Do you understand what I mean?
