i was the first person on the theta wagon and unvoted for about 30 minutes to think about my own reads, and then promptly revoted.

if i hadn't unvoted theta out of my own volition, you wouldn't have called it a swap.

this means that you're either intentionally misrepresenting the situation or you're not reading the game closely, and i find the second one hard to believe.

I find the second pretty easy to believe.

Town enthusiasm is low.

the only reason i find it hard to believe is because mathblade has been meticulous about details this game.

he is sick though, so i could theoretically cut him slack.

well

There's no concentrated pushes anywhere
There's no push to get people to contribute more despite how many people aren't active
There's wagons all over the place and have been on day one
The Luna lynch was lazy as fuck

Plus general inactivity doesn't give me a good feeling that scum are just trying to muddy things up

I think it's a lot more likely that scum are just letting the game flow naturally

That means the game is likely not going in a way that benefits town

i was thinking about this earlier.

it seems clear that it was beneficial for the scum to let the mathblade vs RC thing drag out for as long as possible. even if one of them is mafia, it takes the pressure away from the rest of the team to scumhunt or make actual reads.

who do you want to lynch the most today?

I don't know.

This is the kind of game where I can't really get individual reads, but I can generally get a grasp of what the overall gamestate is looking like.

Ankamius, since I feel the general Yuurei-playstyle is a weakness in my game - can you point out where you think Yuurei's posts have been scum indicate, and why you think so?

UNVOTE: Theta

Not that I dont wanna lynch them, but we need confirmation from the RC replacement as to what happened.

cant really comment on the luna lynch but the rest of this stuff seems like more symptoms of other shit that's happened rather than scum being in a comfortable position (e.g. the RC-mathblade stuff demotivating people, multiple replacements, general inactivity, low content, lack of people trying to engage others, etc). this is the kind of will-sapping game i'm not going to look back on fondly after it's over and i expect the sentiment is the same for most people
In post 2905, Ankamius wrote:That said, can anyone point me to why they think Theta Alpine is scum?
i think his votes and reasoning are pretty bad. his stances on the RC-mathblade thingo and the reasoning (or lack thereof) for each of his votes hasn't made me feel particularly good. he gives me the impression of someone who tries to look busy (e.g. talking about intent to hammer, mod questions, etc) without actually progressing the game in any way

just don't see anything in his ISO that looks town

I for one think we should just move past the crap that has happened and focus on making this game pleasant from now on. Staying demotivated because stuff happened just seems rather pointless, and ill still get satisfaction out of trying to solve the game.

What playstyle is that? Compare to other players if you have to, because depending on roughly what style it is, my read on him is either damning or useless.

The problem is that it felt this way since I replaced in, which was quite a while ago.

The Luna lynch didn't have any conviction behind it. There was the RC guilty (which he stated was a reaction test later and otherwise didn't seem all that into pushing the hydra into the ground), and then the Mathblade counter-claim, which I stated my opinion on already. I remember Math eventually coming around to believing that the counterclaim wasn't really as strongly indicative as he thought it did, so he wasn't hardcore pushing at that point anymore.

And then the wagon just...went through. No real push, just votes idly pouring in.

Despite the amount of information and general level of reads across the game, the game stalled.

That's creepy.

The playstyle that just generally sounds very towny, friendly'ish and genuine. Not sure how to beter characterize it, but thats been my impression from the start. Yet ive been fooled by this type of playstyle quite many a time, and id love to know why and what you think makes their posts scummy - just for me to reflect on in case you turn out to be correct.

That's the awkward thing

Nothing Yuurei has said looked genuine to me

The general approach felt stiff and busy
The stuff that he commented on and the way he responded feels more like busywork than actual analysis or (scum/town)hunting
The tone felt off
