Mafia 8 (Day 4) Oh boy what a night!

this is what i see about Trevizes role:

night one he chooses someone to stalk
day one he disagrees with that person
night two he does nothing
day two he agrees with them (I hope I didnt reverse these two days)
night three he breaks into their house and finds their role.

Once again, MV posts without thinking -- I quoted Trevize's role claim a little higher up and it includes playing "hard to get" on a third day before breaking into the house.

Strangely enough, I'm starting to believe that these errors may not necessarily signify scumminess, but just lack of care, as he keeps right on making new mistakes. Is that illogical? I don't know...it just seems like if he had been trying to get away with something and was called down for it -- not once but twice -- he'd be more careful in future (especially since his mistakes were resulting in votes).

I have been reading, but not posting, in two games I'm in on mafiascum. This one, and Discworld one. This is not an attempt to hide as a mafia, this was sheer laziness. I just read MeMe's post, and thought it should really have been said to me. I apologize, and will get my furry ursine ass in gear.

You're probably right, I'm guessing (but onlt guessing) that Gaspode investiated me two nights ago. And that would probably justify my being scum- however, I think my role can explain. I'm an escaped convict. Now, looking at this role might give a PI the idea that my role is evil. Actually, I was told I was pro-town. The story from the e-mail went a little like this ( I will summarize):

In court I was tried for sexual assault on a woman (one of the serial killers I believe). The short story is that I was convicted and thrown in jail. Howwever, it also told me the actual story- which was pretty much the opposite. We were in the street when she asked me if she couold spend the night. Before I could answer she dropped her purse. I wen to pick it up when I heard a rubbing noise. It was twine she was pulling out of her sleeve. She went to choke me, but I had stopped her. Then she ran to the police and had me arrested. After escaping from prison my mission became to seek out the woman and get revenge.

Basically, each night I send a choice to te mod with a choice. If that choice is the woman that attempted to kill me, then I'll kill her. If it's not her, then nothing happens.

Well, I hadn't been seeing the logic of voting for DS in the first place, and that's a good enough story for me, for now.

"Watching the proceedings" is a bit like "watching grass grow" in this game...so, I'll give that up and vote.

Because of my aforementioned suspicions of casinopete's behavior yesterday (chasing Gaspode doggedly and then asking for protection) and his silence today, he'll get my vote.

I've posted pretty regularly, barring when my room flooded, and quieted down only recently because my suspicion of Gaspode was so far wrong. I'm not exactly a bloodhound when it comes to sniffing out mafia, so I figured I'd try and be more reserved on day three. I've got nothing but hunches, and I don't trust those too much.

I guess I'm a little confused about this....don't you think a PI would have been told the exact same stuff that you were told? Or is a PI only given the title of the role? That seems like it woul dbe a little odd, as moderators often come up with new names or new roles, for which simply the name of the role wouldn't be that helpful. On the other hand, I kind of agree with

Unfortunately, I'm now caught in a quandry. Here's where I'd typically join the CasinoPete bandwagon, as I'm want to do, but I really just don't find him that suspicious. He was pretty helpful for the first day, and I don't find his silence at all eerie or spooky. I can't imagine his silence is due to anything except a non-mafia-related occurence. Would it really be a sound strategy to play the "silent mafia" game after being so loud and visible the first day? The one thing I do find rather suspicious about him is the "I've been really helpful, doctors protect me" claim (or somthing like it) before night 2 (I think it was 2). I'd be happier going after someone else, but if the town wills the death of casinopete, then who am I to argue? Until then, I'm going to go with my other slight, though mostly unfounded, suspicion:

I was concerned after I made my vote that Mike Amok had made a role claim earlier that I had forgotten about, so I went through and looked at every one of his posts. (Question to everyone: Is there an easy way to look at one particular person's posts in one game? I know you can find all of their posts in all games, but can you specify one game?) Mike Amok has only posted one-liners, voting for whoever is the most voted for at the time. The only opinion he contributed toward anyone was the following:

Here's a reason: I'm Super Duper Kalifragilistic Ultra Innocent. I was 100% wrong about Lystrodom, yes. And I absolutely believe CB is not mafia now. I'm keeping my vote on DS because I don't buy his claim. Yes, I haven't been saying much, which is normal for me. mathcam, you're wrong.
