You're walking along to dinner, trying to figure out who is out to get you, when someone suggests going to a place that has good pie. Two of you drop behind and one says, "Yeah, Pecan Pie! Let's get Pecan Pie!"

The cry rings in your ears. "Get Pecan Pie! Get Pecan Pie!" Given your incompetence, you take that as a cue to assume pieceofpecanpie is the bad cop! You dive on him, tackle him to the ground, and beat his brains out.

Wait -- beat his brains out? Who did that? As you scramble to your feet you realize that two of you are holding guns on the other two. "All too easy" one of them says.

Bang!
Bang!

IceGuy
and
zabriel
drop to the ground, their bodies forming a perfect triangle with that of
pieceofpecanpie
.
Telo
and
Guy_Named_Riggs
smile and high-five each other. One of them says "First sword swallowers, now cops. We are invincible!" And they run off to an Open Game coming sometime soon.

GAME OVER
Scum win.
Comments later.

Telo's vote, although not in proper format, falls under Voting Rules #1. It was clear to me her intent and who she was voting for.

Ouch. Before there is rage, what would have happened faster? Telos fixing his shit or someone calling him on it?

I'm fine with it. More because I can't see gnr ever being lynched before ice/zab with what would have continued. The whole wagon on piggy being town is what screwed things up most (and it shows never trust lurkers and more policy lurker lynches).

Given that Telo unnecessarily fixed her unvote, my guess is she would have fixed it immediately if I hadn't happened to be online at
exactly
the right time.

Sweet. I just wanted to post this as my attempts at guessing the sanities

Guesses after the T-Bone LynchSane: Ice

Insane:

Paranoid: T-Bone

Naive: pieceofpecanpie

Results: medhi2277

This was sent to the mod during the night phase

After everyone claimed their resultsSane:Ice, Zab

Insane: T-Bone

Paranoid: Medhi2277

Naive:pieceofpecanpie

Results:xxx

I was close

Actual Set-up (from the QT posted earlier)Sane: Ice, Zab

Insane:Gray, Piggy

Paranoid: T-Bone

Naive:pieceofpecanpie

Results:Medhi2277

So it looks like I figured out the sane cop, paraniod cop, results cop, and naive cop, all after the T-Bone lynch. The only ones I couldn't get were the ones who never got a result.

I feel acomplished.

So Telo scumslipped.

And no one did anything.

Why?

I was locked into my old read on Shuriken. So it looks like Framing Medhi D1 was a pretty good move.

This is a scumslip folks:

I'm at a disadvantage because Shuri either didn't submit one or did and chose not to reveal in order to catch someone in a lie.

In post 325, Telo wrote:logic fail. If what you're saying is true and actual investigators get a run-down of the actions of their predecessor then all that means is that she didn't investigate which was one of the options presented. Either she did or didn't. You just confirmend that she didn't. I got two PM's when I replaced in. One was a role PM which does nothing to tell me my sanity and one says N1 action and without quoting it which is against the rules it also says nothing that helps me figure out who I am.

^^ I know right. It looked like we had the win in a bag and then I took it out and beat it to death. But I guess it didn't die. I think my partner probably left in disgust.

That's why I unvoted Pie instead of parking my vote. I thought Riggs would bus me on priciple for being such a bad player. I'm only half joking. I know he would have hammered pie if I would have parked but I figured if I could get the win without him I might get some egg off my face. I unvoted pie to pull another vote in so I could hammer.
Sorry if you got high blood pressure Riggs. All's well that ends well.

Fyi, when posting from my nook it's verry difficult to format.
i can UNVOTE: if I hit the button just right but to
VOTE: I need to hit the button just right and then get my cursor exactly between the boxes. I don't have directional keys on my keyboard so i have to keep trying with my finger and bah. I can't always get it.

Well played scum.

I learned that I am too lacking in game theory to handle a set up like this.

While trying to theory craft the game I was not only overwhelmed and distracted, but found it very tricky to come to grips with what to address in posts. As a result I was almost too scared to post.

Lesson I'm taking away for next time is ignore the theory and stick to basic questions and hunting out people's stories. Apologies if I disappointed anyone with my play. I'm open to feedback or advice.

Again, well played scum team.

I think town - mainly Zab - focused way too much on the set-up.
There definitely could've been a lot more useful scum hunting that just never happened.
I was laughing my head off when Telo scum slipped that hard and no one paid it any attention. Honestly, this was a hilarious game, only because of town obliviousness.

In actuality, there are no lies here. Her role PM says nothing about her sanity (because she didn't have any), and the second one was me forwarding shuriken's N1 action to her, which didn't help her figure out who she was (because she already knew).

Having said that, I have no idea why she wasn't jumped on more for not knowing what the results of her original slot's night action was, nor why no one asked me if I would have provided it. My answer would have been "of course". So, Telo, a lesson as a replacement: Read your slot's ISO to look for fakeclaims, especially if you're coming in as scum.

Most of my other comments are I think addressed by other people. I had thought that town was too stubborn to let go of their reads given what happened after those reads were established -- hell, if everyone had held onto their initial reads of me in WUPPBY-- Micro 39, scum would have won instead of town.

I also thought before this even started "My guess is it's in town's best interest to completely ignore the night results except to look for impossible conflicts". I've thought that for many themed games but it seems the desire to look at the roles instead of the actions is overwhelming.

I do wonder if in any potential future runs, it may be beneficial to reveal the sanity of town flips (but still not the role of scum flips). Especially in a game with so few nights, the results really did become, IMO, meaningless. (Except as a mental exercise for the scum, speaking of which, good job GNR!) I just don't know if that would have given it all away. I think it wouldn't have, but I haven't fully thought it through.

Anyway, thanks for playing, all, I had a good time running this.

Lets see. One member of the 2 man mafia investigates as town. One member of the town investigates as scum. So even with the sanity of the cops known, the results are nearly worthless.

If you're gonna run the setup, it's scumsided. Just roll with it.

What I was thinking is that sanity flips would hurt the mafia. In the setup the way it is now, mafia could just fakeclaim almost any result with no problems. But if alignments became known on flips, they'd have to think harder about the fakeclaim, wouldn't they? They couldn't just go "I'll pretend to be Naive" (as GNR tried) because then if the naive flipped, they'd be exposed. The results cop flipping after even one investigative result could be useful too. Or a sane cop who got a guilty on another cop could point to the use of the frame. And so on.

Or am I completely off base? I'm sure I could be :P

Yeah, I guess it could be. But then it just becomes POE DETHY stuff, except that lynching helps you a lot.

TBH the setup is probably terrible, but I joined it mostly for the 7:2 silliness. You can see how much I cared about the night actions by how much I tried to submit one.

Would I be wrong in thinking the set up could be run again with cop sanity flipping?

There'd still be a Godfather and Framer, so scum have strength, but they'd at least have to think about fakeclaiming and framing.
