Dizilpaan retrieves his axe from the dead death dog unaware and somewhat oblivious of what is happening around him until he hears a spell being cast. He sighs as he watches the pups lives fade away. "I'm in agreement with the elf here. This didn't have to go down like this but what's done is done now."

"I have no interest in making amends with this butcher."

Thoroughly disgusted, Elf leaves the cave.

“These fools with idealist views of the world will not last and those walking with fools end up sharing the same fate.I pass.”

Cael spits in the floor

“Fuck him”.

Cael picks up the remaining Obsidian stones that were left behind, then performs an investigation check in the rest of the cave where the pups are.

All you can find are the remains of various adventurers/caravaners in the form of bones.

Cael picks up the suggestion spell scroll and leaves the cave.

“I’m… I didn’t mean to… I mean I thought we were adventurers!” The words ring hollow across the cavern walls.

Fighting back tears, the halfling speaks out again, “Maybe we should look for someone who actually knows something…” Nathaniel is cut off before he can finish, his words too low for others to hear as the events unfold.

The halfling drops his rapier and shield and rushes after the elf.

“Wait! If we split up now, how are we ever going to do any good?” Nathaniel is visibly on the verge of almost blubbering but just managing to keep it together.

Brimley's voice leaves Thwick's mouth, saying "plus you can keep whatever you find in the cave". As nice as the obsidian was, Thwick wants more and is searching for it. He also peeks at the body of the mother to see if it died of natural causes or not.

Scattered throughout the cave, you find 20gp lying about fallen from pouches of dead caravanners and buried in the ground.

To the best of your knowledge, the mother appeared to have died during child birth.

Cassius: "Oh dear...Nathaniel, wait."

Cassius chases Nathaniel out of the cave.

Ashlyn leaves the cave.

With everyone else leaving, Thwick has no intention of being left behind on his own and follows the group.

You all leave the cave and head to the guard house to claim your reward.

When you enter the city, Del and Cassius bid you farewell. Del runs ahead to the guardhouse while Cassius has some business at the temple of the 8 to take care of.

A grim looking guard looks upon you as you enter the guardhouse. “What are you doing here?” he asks before spitting into a nearby spittoon.

"We're with Del."

"Del, huh? Yeah he's a member of the guard. Why do you want to see 'im?"

"The lot of us were hired for a job by a gaurdsman named Bramley. Perhaps you could point us in his direction so that we may collect our payment for our services rendered."

"Bramley, eh? Bramley's busy...but perhaps you could

convince

me to interrupt him," the guard says with a grin. He doesn't stick his palm in your faces but he holds it out just in case coins were to change hands, though perhaps there's other ways to get past him than a simple bribe.

Then again, louder still: "BRAMLEY'S BUSY...BUT PERHAPS YOU COULD
