I hate AD/ASPD teemo with a passion. The only reason top tier players use it is because they play cheap BDoor teemo. Shroom up top. Push all day. Flash->W to escape. Return top. Push. Although compared to an AP teemo, AD Teemo is a right click character with team fight presence equivalent to how farmed he is. (Which is also how all hard carries works. Except teemo's kit isn't exactly a hard carry's.

Feel free to argue with me on this one, but you're simply not taking advantage of your kit.

Teemo has three abilities that scale with AP. No steroids. 550 range. Squishy as a mofo. Building AD means that you damage depending on your gold. I could do that with a farmed AD Soraka and have more team fight presence.

AP Teemo, on the other hand, takes advantage of his full kit by buffing his shrooms to very painful levels, makes his Q a very painful poke/nuke and his E deal way more damage. I build him with Philo stone -> Sorc shoes -> (Mejais) -> Malady -> Rylais -> Rabadon.

With this build, you'll never run out of Mana even without blue(from Philo + Mp5 runes), you'll punish the fuckers who tried to gank you/scout baron or dragon with your painful shrooms, you'll have some HP and teamfight presence due to Rylais slow/Malady MR redux and your Q hits like a truck.

The only problem with AP teemo is, if you do too good, the enemy turtles up in fear of your shrooms. But with competent allies, that's a guaranteed victory for me.

Phantom Dancer on Ashe? Really? Pffft. You must be playing seriously bad people if you're not getting punished for that lack of mitigation and extra health. Swap the PD out for a Banshee's Veil. You don't need the extra crit chance, you should have movespeed quints on Ashe anyway, and Ashe has a natural 1.something AS at 18, and focuses on Volley and that guaranteed first crit you should be getting in every teamfight/your Q giving you a strong slow/poke.

I'm still pissed we lost that game, btw. I went 7-9-14 as Amumu and had every armor item I'd normally build on him. We just had a Kayle and Brand at bottom lane who died 16 times between them before the teamfight phase.

As a person who has built both AP and AS Teemo, I like AS Teemo better. With AS Teemo you can build AD with a lot of your items and you just plain old hurt to the summoners. The little bit of AP you get from the Malady is nice yes, but i prefer hitting them 2.5 times a second and them just melting cuz they can't get away than relying on them running into a mushroom and such.

We were playing seriously bad people. He specifically mentioned in-game, how odd it was that he didn't need a Banshee's Veil.

Also, I went 2/7/14 (I think) as Zil that game. By the end of the game, Kayle was literally just following MoS around like a puppy and doing whatever he told him to. It was kind of hilarious actually.

I started playing yesterday. Just been playing v Beginner AI because I don't want to get raped too badly.

Won 2 games as Sion on Beginner with randoms, lost 2 games as Sion with JD, peg, quadz and whoever else was with us.
Got absolutely fucked up with Irelia.
Won 1 game as Ashe on Beginner with randoms.
Won 3 games as Sivir on Beginner with randoms. I like playing with Sivir, it's a lot of fun.

I'll probably suck ass against real people, though.

I prefer on hit effect AS teemo.

malady, guinsoos, executioners calling, wits end, and a madreds bloodrazor. Looks like a tryn hit on each hit, then you have your poisons ticking.

HoN costs money, is just a Dota clone and if we are comparing which is a more serious/competitive game for E-Peen purposes then I play Starcraft so clearly my E-peen is bigger.

I'm not a fan of roaming in general. You fail your first two ganks, you are pretty much dead weight. Roaming was good when people didn't know wtf to do. Now people just stop crossing the river and every roamer/jungler gank from then on is 200% more difficult. At least junglers get gold/xp/buffs even if they fail their ganks. Roamers without their ganks give Solo Bot lane +50 CS + Solo exp: Something that a good bot lane should be getting anyway(once one of them goes to gank).


THe point you're missing is that some champions are just horrible laners. The common theme for roamers is that they don't need gold and experience to be effective - or they simply can't get the gold and experience they need to be effective in lane because their laning is so terrible. To go through the list, alistar has an ult that gives him 75% mitigation and that's all he needs in teamfights, is an iffy farmer and excellent ganker, supports are supports (roaming taric roaming janna), poppy simply cannot farm in lane but is a pretty strong ganker, blitzcrank is an iffy farmer and incredible ganker, and eve is a special case because she simply makes your other lanes win just through fear of eve. None of these characters (with the exception of blitzcrank) are strong laners, and none of them will do better in lane than roaming. And if you want a poppy in your team (and who doesn't!) then the optimal way to play her is going to be to roam.

The other thing about ganking is, you don't need to kill the person to set them behind. Dropping someone's health to half or forcing them to back gives your side a distinct advantage in lane. The extra cs and experience bottom lane gets is not the only bonus - jungle + roam ganks mean your other lanes should win, and win hard. If Alistar, say, sacrifices three levels and 40 cs to put their top and mid 20cs and a level behind each just by forcing them back and getting them low, then they have underlevel carries and you have underlevel alistar and underleveled alistar still does his job thanks to his ult.

Or also for example, say you have an assassin mid vs your carry - someone like akali, for example - having a roaming eve is likely to save your carry from feeding them just because the fact that you can pop up and kill them means that they can't afford to be aggressive in lane like they normally would.

Roamers who fall behind should head back to their lanes for exp.

Yeah, AP poppy is only really viable if
A.They have one player that's carrying them
or
B.You have an extremely competent team that knows they can win 5v4

AP poppy means your team is fighting 4v4 against their team without one of their solo lanes. That's always a good thing, imo. AP poppy trades a duo lane for a solo lane every teamfight.

(She's also excellent creanup crew with a charge and a speed boost)

AP Teemo is shut down by oracles and trolled by banshees veils. Once the other team has oracles, then you're just a squishy short range caster with mediocre damage, and once they have BVs then the whole "BLOW THEM UP AS THEY WANDER THROUGH THE JUNGLE" thing doesn't work any more. AS teemo works because he has what is essentially a big AD steroid on his e - it's almost as big as yi's AD steroid. The only issue with pure as teemo is he is short ranged and squishy - which is why frozen mallet is so good on him (well also the slow means NOTHING RUNS FROM HIM.)

Is there a post in this thread somewhere with a guide or some shit on what the fuck you all are talking about? Or is there more in the tutorial/matches with nubs vs. AI that will help me get a hang here?

the best things you can do are:

1. do the tutorial

2. find someone to help you learn, or play only against beginner ai until you're able to consistently do well and then move on from there

EDIT: the most basic thing is not dying. read nuwen's and shanba's posts in this thread, they're incredibly helpful for your learningings

I played Nasus for the first time in a while recently. Boy, does a 100-creep Siphoning Strike with Sheen proc ever hurt. Ended up having to build him fairly tanky (trinity force -> Merc Treads -> Aegis -> Guardian Angel -> Frozen Mallet), and it was just ridiculous. Popped my ult and basically just stood in the middle of teamfights laying down 700 damage Q's everywhere. SUrprised he hasn't had a nerf yet.
