In my experience, scum often go to the gallows convinced that the case against them is bullshit and they would have done the exact same thing as town.

The human mind has an extraordinary capacity for self-deception.

I feel that almost every lynch is like this. At least the ones that are really paying attention.

tubby's excessive use of commas is bothering me. Is there any reason for it, to me it almost feels like a really weird breadcrumb.

Yosarian2's vote on tubby seems almost opportunistic to me.

I think that tubby is deserving what he's getting, anyone who softclaims when its not a masssoftclaim is just preparing for a full-claim.

i stated i would be away for four days, that was on page three

on page 6 post #149 i return and attempt to get caught up

then i while i was catchin up yos posted his lurker hunt post,, at that time i had nothing of substance to add so i diddn't post, then more posts were saying how that wasn't helpful,, but at the time i had nothing to post ,, so my first wagon starts,, OGML hops on the bandwagon abandoning his proir theory that he "found scum" but only after 5 people have already voted for me and i was clearly on my way to a lynch,

I was also out of town for like 3 days during that time too, upon my return a substantial wagon had formed on me and i was content to alow it and se if i could termine everyones motives for being on it, and OGML stuck out as scum

then i posted some content stated my reasons why i thought OGML may be scum, but voted for puta wanting puta to post or actually play the game, so puta gets removed and i do a re-read during that re-read OGML posts his case agianst me and SirT basically making me look scummy as all heck but continues to vote sir t. Then i post my rebutle because i believe his case false and full of holes, but i know its sounds like alot of OMGUS kinda case but i believe there is something there,,

OMGL still continues to suspect calls my play idiotic and anti town, the pushes me to claim but still does not decide to vote for me for pressure untill 4 other people have voted for me,, seems to me to be a load of bs,

and I will not claim, i will go to the gallows nice and quiet and with out a claim

I really hate you OGML OMGUS vote here. This post is especally scummy:

Flip flops? OGML has suspected you and Sir T for a very long time now. How is he "flip flop"ing? And how is "flip flopping" supposed to be scummy anyway?

I don't see anything oppurtunistic about his votes. Also, the whole concept of an "oppurtunistic vote" on day 1 is pretty much bogus anyway; good guys are supposed to join large, strong bandwagons in order to put pressure on people and move to a concensuss.

And there was nothing irrational about his thought, either; your "I have something magical to say right before I get lynched" thing was pretty scummy, and there's nothing irrational about him calling you out on it.

and combined with your "I-might-be-a-power-role" hint, is just so scummy. There are times when refusign to claim is a good idea, but hinting you have a power role but aren't going to claim it to spite the town is just such a scum tactic.

ok, I am officially caught up...that was quit a read for I was about 10 pages or so back.

I am not sure exactly what the case on tubby is, I see some questionable actions, but I dont see anyone putting forth a firm case...just pressure. I dont see that he is being "aggressively defensive" and think that is a bullshit reason to attack anyone. People get angry they get defensive. Townie thinks that their wagon is being lead by scum, they get "defensive"...Scum thinks that they are getting to heat and instead of attacking, get "defensive"...it is a null tell at best. What I think is a better scum tell are those you jump on a wagon based on someone being overly defensive......


I felt like OMGL actually had some points against Sir T, but once people came out and said they didnt like his case

no the reason i am frustrated is because i made a case and a solid one ( at least in my opinion). But i did such a horrible job in presenting it that the only responses i get are,

Okay, tubby's aggressive defense is really sticking out like a sore thumb here. There's a better-than-random chance he's scum, and I don't think having him alive later will help the town much.

I don't like Sir T's response to being called out; trying to avoid NK by acting scummy is trying to declare yourself the most important thing in the game; one player does not win games, and your survival at the expense of useful lynches is extremely arrogant.

so yah every time i try to explain myself i end up with my foot in my mouth,, but if i were to suddenly give up or sict back and say nothing that also makes me look scummy so seriously i am at a loss here,,

Yeah, I'd carry a Tubby lynch through. Strategic lurking, which is what tubby is doing, is either awful town play or scum tactics to avoid a read, both of which are lynchable offenses.

Honestly, my ability to find scum in a large game on day 1 is pretty weak. Nobody has done anything scummy enough to make them a better lynch than a lurker, aside from tubby who is giving inconsistent reads.

Something tubby said in the answer to my question 'clicked' and convinced me he's likely town. I'm really at a loss to explain why. I just thought "oh, I've seen this pattern before. he's a newbie, not a power role, and trying hard to find scum but failing because he's a newbie".

Tubby, he's not fishing. Fishing implies subtly trying to get you to reveal your role; i.e, not out and out asking you to claim.

I disagree with your definition. Considering the real life analogy, fishing can be done subtly or by setting off explosives under the water. Likewise, fishing in terms of trying to find out rolebased information, can be done subtly or by straight out asking.

I never said I was playing "badly". I just meant that I wasn't trying to be "obviously" townie which I usually am (regardless of my role) early on in the game.
