I really don't think Sineish should "Finish Him". Safest bet would be to no lynch - if Astronaut isn't mafia we've lost the game.

We have nothing to lose with a no lynch.

Yes, but you're saying that because you're his Mafia buddy, aren't you?

We're lynching either today or tomorrow anyway. If we lynch town (and two Mafia remain) we lose either way.

If we no-lynch, the only information we gain is who the Mafia nightkill, which is laced with WIFOM, but we lose a pro-town voter.

There are multiple arguments against Astro, which he has stated he has no defence against. He has an out which could save the game were he town, which he has opted not to use.

We have nothing to gain by no-lynching, either. I repeat - Sub-Zero, do your thing!

Right, so Astro won't suicide. That leaves two choices - lynch him or no lynch.
Everyone seems to be predicting 2 scum left, so on one side of the argument we have: Lynch Astro and if we are wrong, that's the end of the game. On the other side is: Astro's definately scum 'cos he's not suiciding so we're on to a winner.
Astronaut wrote:Told you before, the suicide ain't going to happen.
I guess it comes down to whether I believe that this makes him scum. To be perfectly honest, I've no idea, but I have gained the impression from today's posts that Seol is especially keen to see this lynch happen - he was the first voter and also Astro's most outspoken critic. Why? Something doesn't add up for me and this argument dismissing the no-lynch plan is, I think, typical.
Seol wrote:If we no-lynch, the only information we gain is who the Mafia nightkill, which is laced with WIFOM, but we lose a pro-town voter.
While this is entirely true, that the information gained is limited, what this imparts to our knowledge of the situation is greatly increased. Instead of trying to find 2 scum from 6, we are able to concentrate on finding 2 from 5. Also the pro-town vote isn't strictly lost, as the number to lynch comes down by 1 as well. Exactly the same proportion of pro-town voters required to lynch as the previous day.

With the possibility of a godfather role still out there, I don't see that I have a choice now than to
Vote: No Lynch
.

We're onto a winner not because of his refusal to suicide, but for his stated logic behind his refusal to suicide.

Given that we have our 2 most likely mafiosos pushing so hard for a no-lynch, I'm inclined to believe there's some other reason for them to do so. I'd rather not find out that on night X the mafia get a double-kill or some other unlikely situation the hard way when we're certain that we have our correct lynch.

Votecount

NoLynch-3 (Sineish, Winslicer, Astronaut)

4 to lynch.

...Given the votecount, there's a good chance of stalemate. Therefore, I will...

Day breaks with only 5 of you alive.

You find that
Vesuvan, Shameless Bandwagoner
, has been OMG PWNed. This time, though, you're lucky enough to see Sineish standing over him.

"Well, that makes things easy." says Kerplunk, and he votes Sineish.

Having conveniently woken up at the exact same time, Astronaut and Windslicer come running on to the scene...

With that,
Sineish, Astronaut, and Windslicer, n00b mafia goons,
,pull out their Weapons of OMG PWNage. Astronaut steps forward. "Uh, I think we outnumber the town. That means we win, right?"
"Oh, crap. I guess you're right. Well, Good Game." Comments
Kerplunk the Townsperson

"NOT SO FAST" Booms a voice from above. "THY MOD WILLS THY GAME TO COMMENCE." A lightning bolt descends from above and hits Astronaut. Astronaut shrugs it off.
"HOW DID YOU DO THAT, MORTAL?"
"You can't kill. It's not night yet." Replied Astro.
"OH, RIGHT. CRAP."
The 3 n00b mafia goons quickly
VOTE: THE VOICE FROM ABOVE
.
Seol, Mod,
falls over dead, Lightning Bolts radiating from his Finger Of Suspicion.

"Well, now we get to kill Kerplunk." Comments Windslicer.
"No we don't. You don't have to play it out if you already outnumber the town." Replies Sineish.
"Oh, right."

With that, everybody disappeared in a puff of flavor text, and WorstGameEverville Blipped out of existance.

GAME OVER, n00b Mafia Wins!

Details coming.

THE ROLES

N00B Mafia: EmpTyger, NanookTheWolf, Jadesmar, Coron, Astronaut, Thok (in that order)

You are the N00Bs of the site, thrown together into a mafia bound to crash in burn. Fortunately for you (and unfortunately for everyone else), you have advantage in numbers. However, with all the name confusion and rules clarification, you really have poor, at best, communication at night.

You are a mafia of 6: EmpTyger, NanookTheWolf, Jadesmar, Coron, Astronaut, Thok. You may not talk to each other freely. Each night, you will all send me exactly 1 message containing:
-A message to your scummates. I will redistribute these messages after I receive them all. This is your only way of communicating.
-A vote for who you want to kill.
-A vote for who in your scum group you want to perform the kill.

In case of a tie in either of the last 2, EmpTyger's vote will be the tiebreaker. If Emp isn't on one of the tied “bandwagons”, or is dead, Nanook will be next tiebreaker, and so on.
The tiebreaker list is:

Emptyger, NanookTheWolf, Jadesmar, Coron, Astronaut, Thok.

Good Luck and have fun. 0/\/\G u /\/00Bz0rz.

-Pie

Crappy Modding Team: Mod: Seol, Comod: VikingFan

You two are some of the worst mods this site has seen. You are modkill happy, you can't control the players, and the game sucks. It's your job to kill everybody and end this fast.

You two are a mafia of bad mods, acting normally. Seol, the Mod, is a Godfather (he can't be killed at night, and he shows up as innocent to cop investigations. Both those will be forfeited for the night each night he performs a kill). Should Seol die before VikingFan (the comod), VikingFan will be promoted to Mod and gain Godfather status.

Extra credit if you two make a point to bicker in thread as much as possible.

Good Luck, have fun, and all that good stuff.

Internet Strenger: Wacky

Ahh, what crappy game would be complete without IS? I really don't think I need to describe the flavor of this role to you...

You are effectively a delayed SK. Before you begin wreaking havoc, though, vendettas must be settled. Right now, you work as a Zoneace cop-- you will send me a person each night, and I will tell you if their role is “Zoneace” or not. You also have a 1-shot-vig that will fail if not placed on Zoneace.

Once Zoneace is dead, you become an SK. You are unkillable and show up innocent to cop investigations, but you lose the ability for the night each night that you kill someone.

Zoneace: Thesp

You are effectively a townie, but you do have some use-- to stall IS from wreaking havoc on the game. The person with the role “Internet Strenger” is antitown. They want you dead, and will become much more powerful when you are dead. If you happen to outlive IS, you will be a normal townie. So just try to survive. Like I needed to tell you that.

Good Luck and Have Fun,

-Pie

Opportunist Admin: Kaoticity

You are a board Administrator who finally got smart. You decided to use your powers for your own benefit. Each night, you can Ban somebody from the boards, effectively killing them. In less words, you're a vig.

Good Luck and Have Fun,

-Pie

Shameless Bandwagoner: Vesuvan

You have no free will of your own, you just like to jump on whichever bandwagon suits your fancy at the moment.

If you are on the lynching bandwagon anywhere from 2nd – halfway through the lynch (rounded down), you will receive nightkill immunity the following night.

Good Luck and Have Fun,

-Pie

Mod-Briber: MageofSpades (insane)

You have a brain and a Paypal account, and sometimes that's all it takes in these games. In exchange for steady payoffs to yours truly, I'll tell you if someone's innocent or guilty. Effectively a cop; but for all you know, I could just be screwing with you...

Good luck and have fun,

-Pie

Cheater: Dragon Phoenix

You have an annoying habit of ignoring the “No PMing outside the game” rule. Unfortunately, there's no way for me to stop you.

You have 2 choices each night:

1: send someone a PM. They can't send anything back; it's a 1-shot 1-way communication.

2: attempt to form a impromptu mason group with someone. If they aren't a townie, they'll be too busy with their role to take on another job. If they are, though, they will be bored enough with the game that they'll join you. You get 'em as a mason for the rest of the game.

Good Luck and Have Fun,

-Pie

Townie: Obelix (blackberry), Kerplunk, Dranko20, Rolandofthewhite, Talitha

Aah, yes. Ye townie. You win with the town, no nightchoices, etc. Yes, I know you already know that. Yes, I'm just telling you to rub it in. Blame random.org.

Good Luck and Have Fun,

-Pie

You are a townie. Go blame random.org.

-Pie.

spammer: Macros

You are the local spammer-- you fill up someone's PM box with all kinds of useless crap. The possibilities are endless.

In this case, you get their PM system so overworked that they can't send any nightchoices for that night. Effectively a roleblocker.

Good Luck and Have Fun,

-Pie

Ridiculous Role: Carrion Pigeons

You have the ridiculously complicated role that nobody really likes but the mod uses, anyways.

You do this:

Target 2 people; if either one targets the other, then you may predict tomorrow's lynch. If you do, get the role of each person that targetted the other.

Good Luck with that.

-Pie

(sane) Hacker: LoudMouthLee

You are a Hacker. Brought up by little nerdlings, you can now hack into somebody's PM account and discover their innocence or guilt (effectively a cop). However, you're not too sure of your abilities...

Good Luck and Have Fun

Mod likes you: Leonidas

Fortunately for your friends, you have connections in high places. I happen to like you (says random.org). You may convince me each night to offer one of your friends protection from ye killing forces. You have lucky friends. Unfortunately for you, though, I'm too cheap to let you save yourself.

Effectively a doctor.

Good Luck and Have Fun,

-Pie

Inactive Power Role: Spork76

You are the lucky guy who gets the big role, but then you wind up not showing up and screwing the town over.

In this case, you're a doctor who isn't paying attention. You only start trying once the real doc dies and people start screaming for a new one.

Effectively a backup doc.

Good Luck and Have Fun,

-pie

My thoughts and comments:

-The game setup had powerful scum and powerful town. The town got fairly unlucky with many strong roles dying early.

-There were just over 1/3 scum, but 6 of them were handicapped. The n00b mafia had 1/4 of the game enlisted, and they were the town's biggest threat. Other than that, there was IS the super-SK and Mod/Comod the semi-super ridiculously small scum team.

-The town had fairly traditional roles-- not too many new and exciting things. Given that this is my first game modding, I thought it would be better.

-Modkills: I debated with myself over modkilling fairly heavily twice in the game, and I went both ways. On the Berry/Kao incident, I decided that Berry bringing outside in was bad enough to warrant the kill, but Kao just saying "lol" was fairly innocent. The other almost-modkill was on Dranko for saying "Oh well... I guess I'll just go blame random.org!" I considered this dangerously close to role PM quoting (The townie PM said to blame random.org). I just sent him a warning PM, but in 20/20 hindsight, I probably should have. It certainly affected the game (though it turned out ultimately to not be enough), as Roland was able to catch it and confirm him innocent.

-LML had no vote-related sanity restrictions :)

-I was suprised that the Admin Vig (Kaoticity) decided to kill. Macros saved his own life night 2 by roleblocking Kao.

-I was suprised Seol decided not to kill the last night. Given the NoLynch when it seemed Astro was the obvious lynch, I would have thought it would be clear that there were 3 of some scum group or another left. But, hey, I can't judge well given that I already know what's going on.

More as I think of it.

SPECIAL THANKS TO:

-The many replacements I used.

-The many people who didn't need to be replaced.

-Fritzler (after his death) and AndrewS for modding advice.

-Thok for his constant reminders, even after he was dead.

-Seol for his reminders

-Anybody else I've missed.

Thanks for playing!

-pie.

Heh, how I managed to stay alive for so long is a mystery.

Sorry if I offended anyone, I behave like a total ass every single time I'm scum. Didn't see Seol as scum, he did a great job of tracking down n00bs. What probably saved us in the end was when Vesuvan decided to lynch Wacky over me on day 6.

We did have a numeral advantage, but I tell you, the restricted communication made things a lot harder than they might seem.

OMG joo SUXXORS!

Playing in a large scum group is fun. One of the reasons I went against the Kaoticity bandwagon was that it was correct play for somebody in our scum group to do so as a distancing measure and nobody else had done so. And yes, the quicklynch was an attempt to end the day before others figured out LML was a cop-unfortunately the long twilight prevented that.

My "Mod's Mistake" role claim was never meant to gain more than about a day; once Spork claimed I knew I was dead. I'm actually surprised Fritzler even bothered claiming roleblocker that day.

The restricted voting thing was part of the reason I ended up claiming scum-I was hoping to direct the nightkills. Of course, nobody listened to me.

Finally, you don't know how amusing I find it that Seol was the godfather all this time and that I was right about Wacky being IS.

2 complaints, which should be mentioned

1. This really should have been in Theme Park.
2. Twilights lasted ridiculously long.
I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.

Well, I guess I was right about Astronaut being scum, kinda wrong about Seol being the n00b mafia godfather (but close enough), kinda right about there being a mod (that was partially misdirection more than anything), but none of that actually matters because

(1) I was an SK, and
(2) my "convince the world I didn't exist" gambit didn't pay off.
(3) My claim really sucked. (I'm usually better at this)

By that I mean I got lynched.

Announcement: I'll be sure to go on a killing spree the next time I get sk or vig. No more holding back. You have been warned.

Oh, and listen to Wacky. :)
...whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

HOT DAMN!

It simply didn't occur to me there could be three noobs left - far more likely there was just one idiot out there. Plus, if three n00bs remained, then I couldn't win - the best I could do is a draw, and chances are I'd be attracting a shot next night anyway. Lurking FTW, really.

Mod PM reference.

To be fair, I had valid game related reasons for my vote nights 2 and 4 (although I think I had preprepared my Night 2 vote in my Night 1 message).

Night 1 was pseudo-random, night 3 was for humor/consistancy's sake.

Pie, could you (or one of the surviving NOOB's) post the NOOB message pm's?
I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.

I'll post my messages from Night 4 when I replaced Jadesmar onwards.
On night 4, I wrote:I think we can go after rolandofthewhite (very quick to start the bandwagon on spork as well as placing that smiley just after the lynch). I voted to send Maximumum to kill LoudmouthLee.
My vote is to kill
LoudmouthLee

I vote to send
Maximumum
to perform the kill.
On night 5, I wrote:I vote to send Maximumum to kill Fritzler.
Maximumum wrote:if someone (especially Sineish or Astronaut since they have both been pretty much above suspicion) wants to offer up a fake investigate
I would say we want to be careful about this, especially since we have at least 1 other killing group still around.
On night 6, I wrote:I vote for Astronaut to kill inHimshallibe.
I think that Dranko20, Kerplunk and Wacky are still unconfirmed. It looks like Vesuvan could clear Wacky tonight, so perhaps it's worth going after either Dranko20 or Kerplunk for the 'confirm vote' post after the lynch.
On night 7, I wrote:I vote for Astronaut to kill Seol
I would have gone for Roland, but his support of Dranko20's townie claim might be believed more strongly with his role revealed. I think that Kerplunk is the obvious lynch target for today.
On night 8, I wrote:I'm really not sure who to kill tonight, but I would like to get the player who I am beginning to suspect is a doctor. My reasoning is thus:
Seol escaped being killed last night. If this had been due to a roleblocker, I would have expected to be called on it yesterday and been a lynch target. Therefore, either Seol has nightkill immunity or was protected.

I think it's probably worth trying for Vesuvan tonight, simply because I feel that his voting restriction / un-night-kill-ability could be cover for a doc role.
My choice is to send Sineish to kill:Vesuvan.
On night 9 (I don't this this was published, as the game was over at dawn), I wrote:This is too good an opportunity to miss, so I vote to send Astronaut to kill Vesuvan.

I didn't expect that from Kerplunk, was he really convinced by the no-lynch argument or is there some alternative anti-town motive there? That said, I think that as long as our kill goes through tonight, we can lynch Seol tomorrow as the possible Godfather, although I would be surprised if the game doesn't end after a kill tonight.
I really enjoyed playing this game, thanks pie, especially the last 4 days where we somehow managed to avoid losing a single Noob mafia member and instead lynched the SK, the coMod, a Townie and got a no-lynch. I find it quite ironic that I was planning to set Seol up today as the godfather when he really was!

1. This really should have been in Theme Park.
2. Twilights lasted ridiculously long.
1. I think people were reading too much in to the "theme." The Worst Game Ever thing was mostly just an excuse for flavor-- it didn't change things too much. Most roles were normal, or at least normal-ish. I did consider that, but I figured as long as it didn't tweak the roles
too
much, I'd be fine.

2. You guys had this really annoying habit of lynching on Wednesdays, the one day where I rarely get a chance on the computer (and stay up late doing HW as well). Yeah, that was a problem. Sorry.
RangeroftheNorth wrote:What I want to know is why RolandoftheWhite said that he knew that Dranko was a townie.
Indeed, it was the Role PM. At first, I made the mistake of giving Ranger his PM over AIM (and just telling him 'townie'). I realized that it was going to screw things up, though, and I sent him his full PM.

As for the n00b PMs, I deleted most so there wouldn't be night-to-night choice confusion (and I deleted alot just before the move). I have a smattering, but if any n00bs have them that'd be great.
