look at it this way - self voting, in the current meta environment, draws a shitload of negative attention. there will always be somebody willing to vote you just for doing it. mafia don't want any attention drawn to them, let alone negative attention, especially in a setup like this where the best thing mafia could do is blend into the background because there aren't any investigative roles to suddenly out them. therefore, self voting is not something i expect to come from mafia in this game.

sure, in future games enough people could pick up on this fact and the meta could shift, but in this instance i am willing to totally write grimmy off as a suspect based on his self vote and the reaction to it from empking and millar.

setting you up to be lynched implies that i stated i would bet you are scum regardless of what emp turns out to be, which is not true. my phrasing was deliberately conditional, because you are overtly defending emp and directly trying to stall his lynch, which is what i expect to see from a scumpartner in a two man scumteam.

zwets on the other hand joined the wagon, but suddenly lost his nerve for it when it hit lynch minus one, which, based on meta, is very unlike him, so it reads like he was distancing from emp.

Well, then that means that Empking can't very well come up scum, can he? At least that's how it looks from my perspective, using your argument. That said, you did meta on Zwet, do meta on me. It's a tendency of mine, good or bad, to back out of lynches or unvote if I have any apprehensions about a lynch happening.

Examples include:
The Unvote of Zind in Newbie 736 on Day One
The Unvote of Alcove in the Ongoing 724 on Day Two

Besides, why shouldn't I try to prevent his lynch if I don't think he's scum? He hasn't even really posted yet. No reason to put a silent player on L-1.

this is not what i accused you of, and this is not what you're doing. you're not backing out on any lynch, you're actively trying to prevent a lynch.

I really think Millar is lying. So I'm not totally ok with that lynch. Normally I'd assume pressure caused him to crack, but he wasn't in danger of being lynch, was he? I'm gonna assume he's just pissed that people are voting for him...

I have the worst feeling that if he is town, he's probably doc. Or maybe a townie that's upset that he didn't get a power role. In any case, I don't think he's telling the truth and lying about his alignment isn't something I'm gonna vote for (assuming I'm right, anyway).

I'm actively trying to prevent the lynch of someone I don't believe to be scum, by first walking away from his lynch, and now arguing against it.

Is there anymore in me defending him on such little than you attacking him on such little? Better to err on the side of caution this early than to err on the side of rashness.
