MS Plays: Stardew Valley (Game over)

So today's plan:
- Fish. Since we're visiting the traveling cart, we'll hit up the forest river. Concentrating on cash.
- Moonlight Jellies.
- I did see the note about trying to get someone to eight hearts. Haley is currently ahead with seven hearts, so she's close.

Fishing results: a decent haul today. Fishing on the river generally isn't super lucrative, at least during the summer, but we caught quite a few Pikes and even a few Dorados, which sell for 187G each (250G if Iridium, and we did manage to get two Iridium Pikes). No new artifacts, but we did fish up a couple of geodes.

We did run out of bait, and to the best of my knowledge we're out of bug meat, so can't make any more. We'll either need to buy more from Willy, farm some bug meat in the Mines, or do without for future fishing trips.

Dance of the Moonlight Jellies

We hit up the beach right at 10:00 PM. Pretty much everyone in the village was there, so we made the conversational rounds. The general consensus: goodbye Summer, hello Fall. Pierre did note that he was going to update his stock tomorrow with a new selection of Fall seeds; he recommends we stop by and buy a whole bunch.

Candles floated in the water - both individual sticks as well as a boat loaded with candles. Lewis released the boat from the dock; when he did, the Jellies came out.

There were so many of them! They floated peacefully near the docks, wafting back and forth. We saw some baby jellies - and a single green jelly, which seemed interested in us specifically!

It didn't last long, but it was truly a wondrous event. When it ended, we hurried back to the farmhouse - it was getting late.

The Traveling Cart had no blueberries for sale. It did have a Rare Seed, but we already have a couple of them - and we're saving up for the Vault.

An early visitor

As the new day dawned, we heard knocking at our door right as we woke up. When we opened the door, Jodi was there to greet us. She was out of breath; apparently the walk here took something out of her.

She offered us a dinner invitation! But there's a catch - she wants us to provide the meal. Specifically, she wants a

largemouth bass

to serve at the dinner.

If we want to take her up on it, we should show up at her house at 7:00 PM with the bass.

Here is today's list.

- We're doing a full forage loop, heading counter-clockwise around the world, stopping at the lake to try and fish up a largemouth bass for Jodi.
- We're stopping by Pierre to buy some seeds. 21 pumpkin seeds, some cranberry seeds, and ten of anything we need for the fall bundle. (I'm going to also grab some Wheat, as there's a bundle that wants that too.)
- We're stopping by Clint to crack geodes.
- Specifically, make sure the cranberry seeds get planted today no matter what. Everything else can wait if it needs to (but if it doesn't need to, plant it.)
- I'm going to add the Rare Seeds to that "do it today" list as well; they take most (all?) of the season to grow.

Also, I need to update the official chore list, upload videos, and catch up the Community Center list.

Today's results:

- Foraging:

total bust

. Not a single piece of forage spotted anywhere in the Forest, Woods, Beach (other than the crab pot - it had a shrimp! Yay!), Town, or Mountains.
- Clint: geodes cracked. We got a piece of Jamborite for the museum. A few duplicate minerals, most of which got sold. Some coal, which we kept.
- Pierre: we bought Eggplants, Yams, Pumpkins (for the fall bundle), cranberries (because Ariel said so), and Wheat (spirit of DragonEater's request). Note: the Quality Bundle wants either 5 corn OR 5 pumpkins. Fall bundle wants Eggplants, Pumpkin, and Yam. Fodder Bundle wants Wheat x10 (as well as Hay x10 and Apple x3. The hay can be provided at any time; the Apples are going to be problematic. They're fall-only, but the saplings take a full season to grow.)
- Fishing: we managed to catch one Largemouth Bass at 6:10 PM. Rushed down to Jodi's, arriving at 7:10 PM - which was good enough. We enjoyed dinner with Jodi and her family. No obvious rewards from this one.
- Farming: we planted the Eggplants, Cranberries, Sunflowers (by the beehives), and Yams. Did not plant the pumpkins, mixed seeds, or wheat. (ran out of time / light)

A rough life

As we made our rounds through the town, we noticed Alex having a heart-to-heart conversation with his dog, Rusty. He acted surprised when he saw us, wanting to know how much of it we'd heard. We thought a white lie best;

we told him we hadn't really heard him.

Alex seemed relieved. He then asked if we knew why he was being raised by his grandparents. Turns out, his dad was ... not a nice person. Drunk half the time and abusive the other half. His dad up and left; his mom passed away.

After this, Alex shook himself out of his mood, deciding it was better to keep a positive outlook. He had a rough childhood, but it's made him who he is today, and he can't complain about the outcome. He then pulled a steak out for his dog, who seemed pretty eager to enjoy the meal.

Goat Snacks

Another knock on the door this morning! This time, it was Marnie. She's looking for a favor: she'd like a cave carrot. She wants to train her goats to talk, and they're not feeling very cooperative. Cave Carrots get their attention.

If we could help her out, she'd appreciate it. We'll need to deliver the Cave Carrot to her ranch, specifically, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
