Second off: My initial kneejerk is a Shuffler caused it. We don't have a dead ability thief so it can't be Cannibal or Mugger.

About SJ's role, it IS interesting that the name he claimed wasn't on the list... However, there's one flaw with vigging him: if we don't have a vig, we won't know anything about SJ's role. If we DO have a vig, and the vig attempts to kill SJ, but fails, I don't think he would expose himself to the town, just to confirm SJ, would he? If he wouldn't, then we'd not gain much from him except when he would be forced to claim...

Changeling - You can permanently swap roles with another player at night. (Your teams don't change.)

but I'm not sure whether 'your teams don't change' means allignment. It seems possible that Der Hammer could be lying scum who randomly brought this up to make us go on a wild goose chase...

Both Shuffler and Changeling do NOT change alignments, it is possible to have a town aligned Mafia Spy that way, I would know because I was once a town aligned Mafia Spy because of a Shuffler.

I highly highly highly suggest we lynch Der Hammer or Sailor Jerry today.

Also... I'm not exactly sure what to make of this entire situation that's come up now. I have a hard time buying Der Hammer as an Evil Priest with one dead, and if he's still Evil Priest alignment he's not threatening right now (obviously changes if he somehow gets a killing role). Once I can concentrate on mafia a bit better (and have a few more opinions from other players) I'll look over this situation closer.

Not if Fuldu was the Changeling and targeted Der Hammer the same night the scum targeted him. That's my theory. It means Der Hammer would now be a Changeling who wins if everybody is in the cult he can no longer recruit for. Sucks to be him, and we will definitely want to be lynching him in due time, but we can make better use of his lynch if we save it for the opportune moment. It's too early to worry about making the scum commit themselves to moving first.

The shuffling theory is correct, because I am the shuffler.

there could be a dead evil priest because one of the players that was shuffled was then targetted for a nk the same night, and Fuldu was the ability thief beforehand.
