No matter how high the stakes, sooner or later you're just gonna have to go with your gut.
And maybe, just maybe, that'll take you right where you were supposed to be.

NK is the one I'm thinking of here. He could claim doctor. Then I'd be led to believe we have a doctor + cop town and that leaves no room for neapolitan. If we mislynch alien on day 2, that guarantees that Saudade is guilty, sure. But then they know either I or NK are scum. That's not a big deal to have the pool whittled down like that because if they then lynch me, they've won. And if they lynch Saudade on day 3, it's me vs NK plus one other person who has to decide which is guilty for the final day.
Also, Alien could have very easily checked the wrong person (statistically speaking, if we don't consider reads, it's far more likely he reads the wrong person). Hell he could have read ME and found me to be non-vanilla town and then maybe I'm screwed.

this is a pretty narrow path to victory.
2019 stats: Town WR 76.7%, overall WR 81.667%, 1 scum defeat involving a major mod error in lylo vs 8 scum wins.
Yeah this particular setup is incredibly difficult to navigate for scum. If they don't find power before Day 2 starts the amount of town clears is already nearly insurmountable. Hopefully the game still served its purpose of getting everyone some experience or things to learn from.
I've got to work in like 5 hours so I'm going to bed but I promise to be back to talk more about the game tomorrow.
In post 982, RadiantCowbells wrote:also when saudade flips they know it's a roleblocker which confirms that the cop and not the doctor is real
Yes, that path was never possible, I thought about that.
The Nea+Doctor setup is actually not better in this regard, if Nea and Doctor out there D2, then mafia is also in a tough spot.

Actually, the only wrong people were you, micc, and light ethos.
2 clears from 4 PR's are also horrible for Mafia; since if they are believed it is also automatic loss.
I would agree that the choices of targets for the N1 night actions were what sealed the game for town. It's highly unfortunate for scum that their Power Role got peeked, but perhaps there are a few little things that Saudade (and possibly I as well to be fair) could have done differently to make the Neapol (even if we didn't know whether they existed yet) target someone else.
As for Ninja copping Micc... obviously in hindsight we can see that peeking my slot instead would arguably have been an even better move, but to be fair, peeking the IC is definitely something that I would have considered if I were the Cop, especially considering that Micc's real life commitments were limiting his involvement in the game.
Nevertheless, well done alien and Ninja for carrying Town to victory. Special mention goes to Ethos for managing to eat the nightkill.
As for what I'm going to do next... I am intending to rejoin the Newbie Queue sometime later this month, but first I would like to a) play some Town of Salem to give myself some extra experience with Mafia, and b) find an image of Itchy Itchiford where he doesn't look so miserable. (The Nidoking sprite is just a temporary PFP.)

Unfortunately, no. Not in that situation, with alien themselves being on L-1, and not familiar with the site. I think they would have done it without having a PR.
So that means that all the commotion over my joke was for
nothing
? I was actually teasing scum...
And I was actually very close with my scum reads at the end?
OK, I would be
amazing
at this game, if only I could figure out how
not to be lynched
!!
Reality sets in, as 2.718 realizes that this was only one game, and it is very easy to be near spot-on by pure chance, so it would be unlikely this luck would happen again...
Retired Account
. I have no replacement.
After 2 years (almost exactly!) of inactivity I am giving MafiaScum a second chance...

Dude...honestly, I wouldn't have hammered you, if you hadn't put me at L-1. But who knows if Saudade or HolySpirit would have switched anyway just to get the lynch.
I intend to post some thoughts on this game tonight. Sorry for the delay. Working first shift last week messed with my schedule pretty significantly and I spent way more time watching sports and recovering this weekend than I had originally planned.

Yeah, I actually figured you were implying Saudade to be scum as well. It's a shame that what you said was misinterpreted as rolefishing. The fact that I knew you were town made me feel really conflicted in the face of that.
