This game uses the 9-player setup called F11, which consists of four possibilities:
- 1 Mafia Goon, 1 Mafia Roleblocker, 1 Sane Cop, 1 Doctor, 5 Townies.
- 1 Mafia Goon, 1 Mafia Roleblocker, 7 Townies.
- 2 Mafia Goons, 1 Sane Cop, 6 Townies.
- 2 Mafia Goons, 1 Doctor, 6 Townies.

One of these was chosen totally at random, as were all role assignments.

Note: Doctors are 100% effective in Newbie Games (the person you protect will never die on the night they are protected), unless you are roleblocked. You may not protect yourself.

Cop

, and you can tell good from bad. Each Night, you may send a player's name to me; I will let you know if your investigation shows that they are Mafia or Town. You win if the scum are eliminated, so choose wisely at Night, and lynch well during the Day.

Note: Cops always get a correct result in Newbie Games (no sanity issues), unless you are roleblocked. You cannot investigate yourself.

You are a

Townie

, and you've got no special powers at Night. No investigations, no protection, no gun to shoot people. Your only powers are the ability to post, vote, and think. Help lynch Mafia during the Day, and you will win the game, along with the rest of the Town.

Even though many games start with Night, Newbie Games begin with Day once everyone has confirmed that they understand their role. Scum are allowed to talk by PM in the pre-game stage, but no other "night actions" may be taken.

Rules (Stolen from Mr. Flay and slightly edited):

• Votes must be in bold for them to count, like this:

Hey guys, I'm one of your ICs. I have a few things to say:

1. Please do not vote for yourself. You're voting for someone who you know is Pro-Town. It may be correct play if one or more of the following applies:

a. No Lynch would occur otherwise. (Though this is not automatically a bad thing. Consider the pros and cons of No Lynch before voting for yourself.)

b. You are a Mafioso and are trying to stifle discussion.

c. Your death and subsequent role reveal will confirm your results if you are a Cop.

2. Take everything the ICs say with a grain of salt. If you disagree or need further explanation, speak up. ICs are not always right.

3. If I am scum, I will not lie about game theory unless the correct play is debatable, i.e., there is no "right" answer. In that case I will give whatever answer suits my needs best. Note that, again, the ICs will not always be right about game theory.

4. Please do not unnecessarily claim your role.

If you are a power role then you will reveal yourself and will quite possibly be killed by the Mafia. A notable exception is if you are a Cop and you have a "guilty" result on someone or have enough innocent results to significantly narrow down the pool of players the Mafia could be hiding in. If you want to sit on your results anyway so that you can investigate more people (and thus gain more information) that is a viable choice as well.

If you are a Vanilla Townie, then claiming unnecessarily will only narrow the pool of players that a power role could be hiding in, making it more likely that the Mafia will kill a power role.

5. On a related note to the above, please do not claim a role you do not have.

If you are a Vanilla Townie claiming a power role, there is a 50% chance that you will be counter claimed by the real power role and you'll both out the actual power role and get a Pro-Town person lynched.

If you are a power role and you claim the power role that you aren't (i.e., a Cop claiming Doctor or vice versa) then see above about Vanilla Townies claiming a power role.

If you are a power role and you claim a Vanilla Townie, this may be beneficial in hiding. Keep in mind though that if you ever have to claim your actual role then it is less likely that you will believed since you are admitting to having lied previously, so what's to say you aren't lying now?

6. Please post your opinions as much as possible. What do you think about the current discussion? Who do you think is Scum? Having these sorts of questions answered will help us get an idea of where everyone stands. Always give reasons for your opinions and your actions.

7. There are exceptions to everything.

No, it won't. If you're claiming Power, its either because we're about to lynch you, or its mass-claim time.

If we're about to lynch you and you claim Vanilla, you WILL be lynched.
If it's mass-claim time, it means we need the results on the table immediately. Lieing in that case may very well blow the game for the Town.

I IC'd his last Mini. Day 1, he was wagon'd, and claimed Doc to save his ass. Then, we had someone else at L-1, and he hammered before a claim, and in his hammer post switched his claim to Townie. Day 2, when asked about his lying about his claims, he claimed he was actually the Cop. He flipped Townie.
