Each player is required to play a short match with every other member of their group, where a short match consists of 2 insults and 2 comebacks each. The judges then judge each of the insult/comeback pairs; the winner gets a point. There are no tiebreakers.
Players will be ordered based on overall performance in their groups, ranked by number of wins, with individual points as tiebreakers. The first two from each group will automatically proceed to the second phase of elimination, and the remaining players will participate in a popularity contest. A public poll will be started in a seperate thread, and the two players with the most votes will join the first six in elimination phase.

kuribo replaces animorpherv1. Note that this only happened because animorpherv1 hasn't played any match before flaking; if anyone flakes after having played a match, their name is crossed off the list of players and any scores against them are invalidated.
Announcement: after some consideration, the process of elimination after the group will not be based on overall ranking. Each group will be ranked individually, and two players from each group will progress to the second phase. A popularity vote will still decide the remaining two players who will progress.
I'm sad to announce that Grimmy and lazarusmoth have both been disqualified, since they haven't picked up their prods in a week.
Alduskkel and imaginality automatically progress to the next match; the losing players to be paired with Grimmy or lazarusmoth will also progress automatically. Bracket to be updated soon.
xRECKONERx wins against kuribo, while Shanba has forfeited the competition, much to my dismay.
I have offered Grimmy his spot on the Losers' Bracket, since he was on V/LA instead of MIA, and I somehow missed that fact; the next round's matches will be announced one he's replied.
