Game Rules stolen from Cicero who in turn stole then from Stoofer

[01] VOTING METHOD: Votes must be in bold. example: Vote: LlamaFluff If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted. You must unvote before casting another vote, if you wish it to count.

[02] LYNCH: Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, any attempts to unvote will be unheeded.

[03] NO LYNCH: You may vote: no lynch – unless it is deadline, majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.

[04] DEADLINE: This game will have mandatory deadlines of, at most, 3 weeks. As the game whittles down its living membership deadlines may grow shorter. If I deem it necessary a player being replaced may extend the deadline.

[05] DEADLINE LYNCH RULES: As the At deadline, a person will be lynched if they have a majority of voters voting for them. That means you can be lynched with just one vote if only one person is voting. If no one has a majority of the votes cast, it is a no-lynch.

[06] NIGHT CHOICES: Night choices will be expected within 72 hours. If you do not inform me of a night choice you will forfiet it.

[07] LURKING AND NOT POSTING: Lurking is not an acceptable strategy in this game. Anyone who goes more than 72 hours without posting, without advance warning, is likely to be replaced. (I don't count weekends for this purpose.) Mafia is a social contract. Everyone is expected to give information and comment to be analysed. If this is uncomfortable for you, consider taking up solitaire instead.

[08] OUT OF THREAD COMMUNICATION: The game is not to be discussed outside the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so – and then only in the manner stated in your role PM. Don’t quote any out-of-thread communications regarding this game in the thread, this includes role PMs.

[09] BAH POSTS ARE ALLOWED: Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. However, since I love Bah post you may absolutely make one "Bah" post. It should be short and should contain absolutely no game related opinion or information.

[10] TOO CLEVER BY HALF RULE: No small or hidden text or obscure codes. Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts either.

[11] VACATION? LIMITED ACCESS? If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in this game thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

[12] FALLIBILITY CLAUSE: Unlike other mods I am fallible. Please point out any mistakes I make gently. In particular, if I post a vote count that does not accurately reflect your vote, it is your responsibility to correct me -- otherwise your vote may be treated as it appears in the vote count.

[13] QUESTIONS: If you have any questions at all, please PM me or post the question in the thread.

[14] FUN: Remember, it’s a game and it’s supposed to be fun. Be nice to your fellow players and your mod. I have very low tolerance for abusive posts.

[15] I've reserved this color for any purposes I might choose. Don't use it, please.

"Did this really have to start so early?" you mutter to yourself. It was half after seven, and you were stuck in this small confrence room with eleven others, none of who looked too happy themselves. A couple were eating some of the complementary begals on a small table in the back of a room, no one bothered to touch what looked like what may of been coffee a few weeks ago, but at this point was most likely its own life form.

The meeting was supposed to start half an hour ago... you think and start leaning back in your chair, only to be reminded that it had a high pitched squeak that occured whenever you shifted your wieght. This really sucks, you think, debating just walking out of the room and going home.

More minutes go by, and the coffee sludge even started looking like an option. Worse that can happen would be you get to go home sick, right? As you start to rise to take the risk, the door finally opens, which of course squeaks too. Of course.

In walks a small, curious looking man. He has a death grip on a manilla folder that is full to bursting with paperwork, some of it spilling out onto the floor as he walks hurridly to the front of the room. He wears an anxious expression and is dressed like he was just called in to show up here, wrinkled slacks, button up shirt with multiple buttons not fastened which revealed a stained white "Mitch's Margarita Hut" tee.

Standing at the head of the table he explains the situation at hand. It seems that in light of the recent 'hostle takeover' of the modern movies, a select group has decided to try to copy it with the classic films. Through some convinance, they all happen to be present in the room. Disney lawyers are a bit preoccupied with that recent Disneyland incident proving that even mascots need to watch loose clothing around heavy machinery, so its up to the victims to take matters into their own hands, or paws, or whatevers.

The following vanilla role may or may not be in this game

Image
You are Happy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Vanilla Townie
After working all day in a mine, you are one of the few people that are able to keep their chin up. Happy will only get you so far though in this life, unfortunately happy is all you have as well in the terms of skills. Good luck getting anywhere with that.

You are a vanilla townie, all you have are your thoughts and your vote. Use them wisely.

You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.

Roles are going out now

All roles are out. Opening your role will count as confirming. Day one will begin in about 48 hours. Any role that allows night communication may use it at this point.

"Well then" says the man, pacing back and forth in the front of the room, "you know what you are up against, and there is no point prolonging the inevitable. Get to it, and quickly!"

Day one begins. With twelve players alive it takes seven votes to lynch.

Deadline for day one is October 17th at 9PM, PST

Vote Gorrad.

Serious vote. He didn't random vote or even point a finger. Just a friendly comment to get on good terms.

No real read on SC. Maybe slightly scum for attempting to recreate an easy lynch, but it's probably the weakest read I've ever had.

Crazy, why specify that you are kidding?

ZONE could still go either way. And that's everyone who has posted.

Because in case it wasn't obvious, I didn't want SOG to think that I was serious.

Good, because I'd be on you if you seriously pursued me on that, especially considering nobody other than the mod had posted in thread yet.

Because monkeys scare me.

P.S. It's good to see some familiar names after being away for several months - SC, Gorrad, Crazy, kmd - and hello also to those I've never played with before.

My name isn't "Starbucks", it's "Starbuck" as in the character from Battlestar Galactica.

LOL, do be honest I didn't even see your vote until after I voted. But I usually vote for whoever stands out in the RVS.
