Socrates didn't use a single X value. It sounds like you just picked up random bits from the thread without quite understanding them/thinking them through. Why do you think it's suspicious that Socrates picked first?- Jack

Although, I'd normally be skeptical about someone making statements like that (a similar one is, 'oh I didn't know scum could daytalk' ), this seems genuine.SpyreX wrote: The Draft:[/b]
Once the order is done, you will then straight down the list attempt to pick a power role.If someone above you on the list has picked that role you will be vanilla.
Note: The mafia will be able to talk before the draft begins for a period of approximately 24 hours.
Anyway, this is a failwagon. Half of you aren't even saying "GO WAGON GO!" or "Same reasons as X, die Fate." etc.

I don't get the idea that someone like TM is more likely to be scum because he chose (1,1). If anything, wouldn't players who "covered" more bases by voting different numbers be more likely to be scum? I don't see how it changes anything, and I honestly would've picked the same numbers regardless of my alignment.
Also, the mafia could talk about their draft choices, but not their number choices, correct?

@RC:
Since the "Note" containing the rule comes after the paragraph "Once the order is done" we might be able to infer that the mafia were only allowed to discuss role choices, not number choice. It isn't really clear,Porkens wrote:The Draft:

fos dramonic and socrates for having this fake argument.
BUT, it doesn't really matter. Number speculation is a waste of time. All that follows is WIFOM (Maybe scum had a few players all pick the same numbers as a perfect defense? Maybe they tried to spread things out to get more power?).
I'm willing to let it slide early game, but if people seriously start using this attack/defense later I'll policy vote their asses.Fate is absurdly beautiful. 運命に弄ばれる

First 2 paragraphs are just there and to me look like an attempt to look town. I'm having a hard time explaining why but it just feels off. Stuff like 'Any scum want to claim and tell us' is something I think scum are more likely to say.Fate wrote:
This. I must have missed a rule... IIRC, he said we would all get a PM with our alignment, and then have to send back a reply with the picks.
Does alignment include list of team members? Hmmm... Any scum want to claim and tell us?
Vote FeFiFoFumFor doing the RVS wrong, and voting Socrates (srsly guys, if he's not dead tommorow he's either BP or scum).
The thing with Socrates is just horrible. Trying to cast doubt on the higher draft picks for no reason is stupid this early. And it's funny considering he's next. So I guess if you don't die soon Fate we should lynch you too huh?
Owait let's do that anyway
Unvote Vote Fatebetter vote since Jack's just being ajackass (oh lawdy).

Why BOUNCY over Fate? Fate's got a cool wagon, needs more people to help out! do your part.
I do agree (wth fate and probs a few more) that number speculation seems useless though.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?- StrangerCoug

Just because you unvoted TM doesn't mean I am going to let you ignore one simple little question. You then vote FFFF while not mentioning anything about the Fate wagon and on your next post you admit you could possibly be confused about the numbers thing and don't unvote, don't see how a vote can be counted as anything if you don't even understand it.They tell you never hit a man with a closed fist, but it is on occasion hilarious. - Malcolm Reynolds

My opinion on the numbers debate: There is nothing to be gained in terms of scum hunting from the draft order, even if the scum had been able to talk before submiting numbers (which it doesn't sound like they were able to,to me) it's just a huge wifom trap.

well i didnt understand the process of the draft..obviously so, since I was at the last of the draft...
so many wagons already. am I surprised that the wagons are on people close to the top of the draft?...no, those are probably the better roles that scum want eliminated. at any rate..
vote wolf, cause I got a day 1 feeling.
here is an interest tid bit of information I asked the mod while during the draft process (maybe it was in the rules, but I missed it)...mafia could talk all during that drafting process...so if they are smart, they have even more information than usual.- curiouskarmadog

How came everyone ignored this!? lets see..
1 - Not coming up with anything of its own, therefore not contributing to town!
2- Vote with no reason
3- Unvote his vote with no reason to hop on the wagon. I won't vote you, because that might be just to incredibly scummy for you to even be scum, cause no scum would play that way i think, no scum would be that careless.
@Fate : How come is everything going accord to plan? How can someone's plan be : Getting Lynched? Well, i see only one role that benefits from being lynched, and that is vengeful. Lets take a look..
Townie Vengeful :
-Has no point in wanting to be lynched so early on, cause its more than like ly he would revenge kill a townie.
-Has scum : A 100% chance of removing a town aligned player...

okay so the theory is that since scum could talk to each other before they picked their numbers they knew what numbers to avoid so they could be higher on the list or at least not pick the same number as a scum buddy.
I looked at the list and there are 9 groups
The top 3 people that didn't pick the same number and the bottom 6 that had the same first number.
The question is would scum use this as WIFOM on the town?
I can't imagine all of them doing this it would mean they would be lower on the list.
...........let me read what people said and I will expand more on this.Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.- RedCoyote

To be honest, I didn't really pay much attention to the scum stuff either. Since I'm not scum, I didn't read it.Faraday 57 wrote:Why BOUNCY over Fate?

Right, so, I mean, this is still a stretch at best. Assuming every scum player was talked in QT before they chose their numbers (which I dont), all they know is not to pick numbers already chosen. This is just very convoluted for a scumtell, you just can't point to player A and say "looks like they choose numbers with scum help" and then player B and say "looks like they choose numbers with no help".farside 72 wrote:okay so the theory is that since scum could talk to each other before they picked their numbers they knew what numbers to avoid so they could be higher on the list or at least not pick the same number as a scum buddy.- curiouskarmadog
